I recently had my oil plug fall out while I was driving my SUV on Maynardville Pike. After I…read morepulled over I called for a tow. When the tow truck came I had them just tow me to the closest automotive repair shop which was Service Street Automotive. Since I've moved here a few years ago I've never used any auto shop so this pick was just random. This so happens to be the best random choice I've made. After they put a new oil plug in a full oil change service ( which was extremely reasonable) they had to inform me that I had a blown engine. Both Jay, the mgr. and Yami were nice and understanding. From previous conversations they both knew I was on a set income and couldn't afford much. Of course a new engine was out. They gave me different options and advice. I ended having to sell my vehicle as is. Yami was very helpful and informative and wrote down places for me to call. I came into the office quite a few times with questions and they were always helpful. Since I really didn't have the money to tow it anywhere they let me keep it there until I sold it. I really appreciate their kindness. There's not a lot of places out there that treat you like family , but they did. I will definitely recommend and use them for my future needs.

My college daughter needed rear breakers and rotors on a 2012 Equinox. The price was ridiculous…read moreconsidering how easy they are to change. $599 was the price given and the guy said he would get me a $50 coupon. All said and done $670. The $50 coupon was overshadowed by a $54 fee charge! Rotors go in metal so company makes money leaving wire brake pads and some brake fluid. I was told they are business and prices are set. Ask for a total price because they don't give the total to you upfront. Very poor customer service. Manager was out the 3 times I called and never received a call back to discuss the $54 fee they put on to cross out my coupon.

Power steering in an MDX is a funny thing but they were able to find the problem and fix it without breaking the bank. If you want an honest mechanic who knows what they are doing, Asian Auto Specialists is the only place to go!

I'm confused how this business has a good rating I have had 2 interactions with them and both…read morewere negative. my son had his 1998 civic towed up there in hopes of replacing or rebuilding his engine. after a few days we go up there to see what was up. they informed us that they don't do bottom end engine work. why do you have the word specialist in your title if you can't rebuild that motor? they also informed us that they cannot find a replacement engine for the car. it's kinda funny that the shade tree mechanic was able to locate a motor fir the car in a couple days. the guy in the office recommended a couple places for my son to look for his own engine. I'm confused as to why these "specialists" couldn't look at the places they are telling him about. we don't work on cars. if we are trying to pay you to put a motor in I don't think it's unreasonable at all to expect you, the business to find a dam motor. they didn't want to work on his car. they were trying to talk him into scrapping the civic and getting another car because the labor alone was going to be so high. o yesterday they had his car towed they called him a couple times and he missed the calls mostly due to the fact that he works third shift. when I callled to give the so called manager Nick a piece of my mind he starts with all this"we are a business and we contacted him several times and told him what was up". I asked why they didn't call me. We have the same name, they have my number because I got an alternator installed the month before that they got right in the second try. isnt it amazing how the tow company didn't have any trouble ag all getting ahold of him. they got him in the first try! in my interactions they only care about their convenience and not much about the customers. we came up there together in the car they fixed for me on the second try and didn't identify us as father and son and that would have been the perfect time to tell him they are too lazy to find him an engine and if he can't find one by 30 days they are going to tow his car. if yiu are having car trouble save yourself the hassle and take your car towed Lerch's. they gave great prices and are well worth the wait. I wouldn't let these people work on a go cart after these 2 interactions.

When I got my brakes replaced, they charged my for new rotors. They didn't explain why except that…read morethe rotors on my car 'looked bad'. They didn't explain why the rotors couldn't be turned and reused; I would have felt better about having to buy new rotors if they just did that one thing. I asked for a transmission fluid change since the manufacturer required it as part of the maintenance of the vehicle. The individual at the counter said that they couldn't do it because they didn't have the 'special' tool to properly do they job. I guess anything other than standard-sized tools is 'special'. All it takes is an 11mm socket. I have an domestic and very common model of car....it's so special that some mechanics won't have the tools to do basic maintenance? Seems fishy to me. i took it to a transmission specialist and they took care of it without blinking Since I'm on constant chemotherapy, I'm constantly tired and feeling bad. I also won't win any best dressed or most well-groomed awards. The Receptionist took one look at me and had to stifle a laugh and then went off to the side of the front counter to whisper with the counter employee. It's pretty tacky to treat paying customers like that. Even at Firestone they can keep their opinions about paying customers to themselves. Showing kindness and understanding toward your guests even when you don't want to is called 'service'. As for the good aspects of my two visits, their work is just as fast and efficient as any other well-run shop. They take their time to do things right and fixed everything we agreed on in a timely fashion. They seem to use good quality parts for the repairs. I really appreciated the inspection process for the car, they found the worn out brakes that the dealer missed, but I guess dealers just want to sell new cars, not fix the old ones. I may be returning to them for any serious mechanical failures since I have a 48 month CarMax warranty. The shop is a CarMax repair partner, so if you have an active CarMax warranty, you don't have to go all the way to CarMax to get repairs that fall under the warranty agreement done.

Said the bolts were stripped but I took video before and after. Only 1 bolt on the front side was potentially stripped. It should not have been a big issue for a shop, especially double the price. Use caution going here. If price dont matter, then they will love you.
