For what I got done I think Car Fix did what they said. I didn't like the cost but in the end. It wasn't any higher than others.

Do NOT use CARFIX in Oak Ridge. We took our daughter's 2017 Honda Accord to CARFIX because the air conditioning stopped working only one month after purchasing the vehicle. CARFIX told us the AC compressor AND the engine fuse box both needed to be replaced, with an estimated repair cost of around $2,000. Thankfully, we contacted the dealership where we purchased the car before approving the repairs. The dealership agreed to fix the AC issue. However, when we picked the car up from CARFIX to take it to the dealership, we immediately noticed the radio console, backup camera, and charging port were no longer working. My husband went back inside to speak with them. CARFIX admitted they would "look into it" and explained that Hondas can sometimes have radio issues after disconnecting power. They said they would order a replacement radio that would arrive in about a week. The repair total was supposedly around $1,100, but they offered to cover 80% of the cost, leaving us to pay $224 out of pocket. At the time, my husband agreed. Once the dealership inspected the vehicle, they confirmed the ONLY thing wrong was the AC compressor. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the fuse box CARFIX claimed needed replacing. At the end of the week, CARFIX called saying the radio had arrived. I brought the car in and was told it would take about an hour. After waiting over two hours, I overheard employees discussing how they couldn't install the radio because they needed the anti-theft passcode. They admitted they had called Honda dealerships and corporate trying to get the code and told me it would have to wait until the next business day. Four days passed with zero communication from them. When my husband finally called, they said they still hadn't heard back from Honda and were "just going to order another radio." We picked the car up for the weekend and waited again. A week later, they finally contacted us saying the part was in. I returned the vehicle and was told it would take an hour and a half. Thirty minutes later they said it was done and demanded the $224 payment. I explained that after weeks of inconvenience, multiple trips, conflicting diagnoses, and the damage that occurred while the car was in their possession, I didn't feel we should have to pay anything. Robert became rude and dismissive, insisting we had already agreed to pay. I pointed out that: * We brought the car in ONLY for air conditioning issues * Additional problems appeared only after CARFIX worked on it * Their diagnosis about the fuse box was apparently incorrect * The dealership fixed the problem by replacing ONLY the compressor They claimed they offered to pay 80% "just to help us out," not because they caused the issue. At that point, I said I would pay but mentioned I would be leaving a bad review, they said "Just give her the keys and be done with it". After leaving, I discovered even more problems: * I couldn't connect my iPhone because multiple phones were already paired to the system * Meaning they installed a USED radio, despite implying it would be new * The dashboard was also cracked around the radio installation area Looking at the invoice later, I noticed they put into the invoice to be charged: $1,024.50 for parts (NO WHERE STATED USED) $15.75 labor $48.88 shop/environment fees Total: $1,195.32 This entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and dishonest. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting CARFIX with your vehicle. read more

I went to car fix on yesterday and my initial visit was to have my front wheel alignment done. When approaching the facility I met a guy named Chris, Chris would end up being my sales representative and the guy go to okay fast forward Chris is a wonderful salesperson let's get that clear and understood he pushed and pushed about everything that was wrong about the car and what I needed to have done and how important he felt like it was ignoring the fact that I keep telling him is out of my price range I can't afford it the only thing I can do is have a wheel alignment and maybe I can purchase tires from you. So they end up keeping my car overnight fast forward to this morning call me at 7:00 a.m. requesting that I talk to them about picking my car up and this that and the other I go pick my car up drive down the street in the car breaks down belts popping off things falling as the car as I go down the street and I had to be towed back to the shop. Where I was met with Chris who was telling me that this could happen because of how old the parts were in my car I feel so set up this has been the worst day of my life why I'm sitting here in tears now knowing I can barely afford to maintain the car that has been getting me to and from for the past year all of a sudden after one incident with Chris now I have a car that's falling apart and I can't drive is very sad to say I was misled in the way that they represented their sales and the quality of the work done at the auto shop. Actually wouldn't recommend this place for anybody they are kind people but kind people that only want money and at the end of the day with a nice smile on his face they ripped me off and sent me away with a car that I can't even get to work or take my children to practice this has set me back and cost so much money and the only thing I get is a smile and someone telling me we're not responsible when it breaks down the street I would say stay away from this place. read more

I have a modified 2016 Jeep with a recent 8 speed swap. The transmission starting leaking while in Tennessee on vacation. I first tried the local dealership but they could not help me due to the modification and aftermarket parts. I then tried renting a truck/trailer to tow one way, but that option was not available. I then found CarFix. Chad got me right in. They figured out the problem, got me back on the road to enjoy the rest of my vacation and I made it 8 hours home. The staff were all professional and the facilities clean and comfortable. The part needed to make the repair actually came from one of the mechanics personal race kits. That is customer service. My car was towed to Car Fix because that is where AAA directed the driver to take it. I had no options, not knowing anywhere in Oak Ridge. Car Fix took care of the problem and did a good job at that! I had transmission replaced. Payment was by warranty company. They did all the communication, delivery of rebuilt trans, etc. Car Fix submitted price and all was agreed upon. My out-of-pocket would be the $100 deductible. I had a $87 'coupon', so my final cost should have been $13. But when I arrived to pick up car it was $307. Car Fix charged ME 'Their' price for labor, while agreeing to accept the warranty companies payment. Eh??? Changing price after accepting the job? Best to avoid. read more

My car had a very dead battery (i.e., a jump would not have worked). I called Car Fix in Oak Ridge at 4:45pm to see if they could replace the battery (they close at 6:00pm). Smitty was very understanding and sent Noah on his way home to stop at my house and replace the battery. He was quick and efficient and so nice. In addition to getting regular oil changes here, I've had to come in for two tire repairs which they did for free. I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my car worked on. This place treats you like family from the first step you take in the building. I've been in several times for several different issues, from an oil change to an A/C leak to a leaking tire. They're happy to give you a rental car if they need to keep your car for an extended period of time and they're very quick with all the services I have had done here. I have always used car fix for my oil changes and normally am pretty pleased. However I got an oil change on 6/25/2021 from 4:30-4:58, everything seemed to be fine I paid for my service and the receipt said they completed the whole service except the oil light was never turned off. Since I am a regular I am signed up for text alerts for when I need a tire rotation etc. On 7/6/2021 I received a text alert that my tires needed to be rotated. I called to confirm if the text was a mistake and they stated that they did not complete the service, they were rude and not apologetic. When I asked about a refund they said no but that I can take my car back and they would do this for free. WOW so kind of them to offer to complete a service they lied about and said was completed. Ridiculous. This was beyond frustrating to me because if I had not received a text this could've been a huge liability for my vehicle, it is also frustrating that the oil light was never turned off. If I had not received a text I would've never known, so who knows how many people are paying for services that they didn't actually complete. I had to waste my time and gas to come back to have this done and the front desk lady was rude on the phone and at the desk. Not sure why she has an attitude because if they had simply completed the service that I had paid for it wouldn't be an issue. They said tire rotations take no time, I got here at 4:40-5:25 the tire rotation took longer than the actual oil change. Absolutely livid. Would not recommend. I just left at 5:25 and had to come back because there was a clicking sound on right front tire that was not making any sounds at all until after this service. I will admit I was extremely frustrated with the staff but the way the lady reacted to me saying you can have a seat now, she complained about my attitude and said I already fit you into our schedule today when we didn't have the time, she also kept saying that it was the oil light that took so long for it to be completed not the tire rotation and I said that's not the point had it been done the first time it wouldn't have been an issue. AS IF SHE DID ME A FAVOR BY COMPLETING A SERVICE THAT WAS PAID FOR 2 WEEKS AGO. Will update my review whenever I get to leave this awful establishment. 6:00pm so the clicking on the tires were due to some sticky weights that were put on the tires here at the same establishment and with the weights when they rotated the tires the tires became unbalanced and the weights were rubbing on the brake calipers. Not sure why this was not caught when they rotated the tires especially since the weights were put on here. Then they act like they are doing me a favor by doing this free of charge. A man came back told me they weren't responsible for the sticky weights because they aren't the same but then said we are under new management starting 2 years ago so even though it was done here they don't have any of those old records. This is could have been a HUGE liability. Can you imagine how many other cars they have worked on that are out driving around with probably unfinished services? The gentleman who helped was very kind and informative which did help me calm down but still I would NOT recommend coming here. read more

I think they charged me $17 labor (takes 1 minute to change yourself) - And a RIDICULOUS price for the filter (get them on ebay for a couple of bucks - I bought 4 for $20). AND ... I have been going to this place for several years now. They are always friendly, accommodating, and up front with everything. They are the only people who fixed a leak from the inside roof of my car. I had my car to several places, charged over $200 and no one could figure out what was wrong. The dealership was going to charge me $1400 to just "look" at the lining and do a water test. I gave them a call as they always took care of my car maintenance and asked if they could look at it. They found the issue; it was my sunroof. They fixed the problem, kept me informed of all the charges and to this day, my car does not leak anymore. I can't tell you how much I appreciate them. Recently, Percy got me quickly for a concern I had about my battery, as well as taillight was out. They took care of everything, reasonably priced, and had my car ready when I got out of work. Do not use Car Fix. Less than one year ago my grandson took two vehicles in to be repaired. Less than a year later Sparkplugs are rusted and brown. One has fouled out and all will need to be replaced. Yet I paid to have these replaced in June 2020.y invoice shows the replacement and I was charged for this service. Then synthetic oil was used as a replacement when my car calls for non synthetic. Since I had other repairs the bill came to $2,388. I paid $1000 down and being short of funds took advantage of their payment plan which will cost me a total of $3211.36. My grandson took his Nissan truck for a thermostat replacement for $600 yet a few weeks later it's overheating he takes it back he's charged again for the same part when car fix has a work and part replacements guarantee. What's up with that? Next he finds a glob of grease on the pavement car fix diagnosed as a valve cover issue $600 cost. When it was actually the CV joint that needed replaced. Another $$459. Charged me twice under warranty. Charged you very max. Very rude shady people. Your car will be siting and you'll be in there 3 times a week spending paycheck after paycheck and all your savings for nothing your car will be siting and unless your wealthy stay away there high prices bad work they'll leave messes in your car wont clean it up they wont call you back they'll break your car and blame it on you they say one price and charge a bunch of fees. They'll say for instance your transmissions bad when it was really a module for 500 and try to get 5000 out of you they will take all your money and your car will still be siting.
