My 90 year old father needed an MRI and because he has a pacemaker, it's more complicated to get an…read moreappointment (because the facility needs to have an MRI machine that the pacemaker is compatible with). Initially, the imaging facility my dad's doctor suggested told me they would need to have someone get back to me about the pacemaker and that I could expect a call within 24/48 hours. When they didn't call, I called back and had to speak to several people (all of whom seemed capable of answering the question unlike the first call but I was disconnected twice before the third call each time having to start over). After more than hour on the phone, the third person finally told me that they did not have an imaging machine compatible with my dad's pacemaker. This whole process ended up delaying the MRI for my dad for more than 1 week. The day I got Westside Medical Imaging's number, I called and spoke to Dolly. She was polite, informative and responsive. Within an hour she confirmed that they had a compatible machine and they could see my dad 2 days later. She emailed the paperwork to fill out so my dad's time could be minimized. When we got there, the front desk personnel (which included Dolly) were very kind and helpful. They also had arranged to have a technician from the pacemaker company available to put my dad's pacemaker in the MRI mode. The same person was there to set the pacemaker back after my dad was done. Bobby, the imaging tech, was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. He expressed genuine interest in my dad and gently helped him get to the machine. Despite there being 3 separate studies, the whole process was completed in less time than was predicted. I was able to get my dad back to the house earlier than expected. This experience stood in stark contrast to an experience my wife had with a different imaging facility just the day before. I am very grateful to Westside Medical Imaging and would highly recommend them to anyone.

The second time I got a terrible technician, that made me wait 45 minutes for an appointment that started at 9am. Once I was in.. I was given 0 to no instructions.. and just left on this room while this machine did its work.. the tech was trash , 0 communication while you're in this microwave oven... couldn't even get the scan right, I walked out.

I had a very concerning experience with CRNA Gladys Narvades during my PRP procedure at Radiance…read moreSurgical Center. Before the procedure, several nurses had difficulty starting my IV, and Gladys volunteered to attempt it. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, she used an ultrasound machine to locate a vein. While doing so, she administered local anesthetic from what appeared to be an insulin-type syringe. After using the needle, I observed her place the syringe on the basin rather than immediately discarding it in a sharps container. When she moved to another area to attempt another IV, she appeared to be about to use that same needle again to numb the new site. I had to stop her and say, "You can't use that-that's contaminated." Her response was to laugh and drop it aside. I found her reaction to my concern particularly disturbing. Ultimately, the supervisor, David, came over and was able to find a vein and draw adequate blood. What made the experience even more troubling was that, up to that point, Gladys had never introduced herself or explained her role. I was then wheeled into the procedure room by other staff members and realized that she was the person who would be administering my anesthesia. Again, I do not recall her introducing herself as the CRNA, discussing the anesthesia plan with me, or explaining what she was about to administer. The next thing I remember is propofol being administered and then waking up after the procedure. I was extremely uncomfortable with how little communication occurred before I was sedated. As a Family Nurse Practitioner myself, I am familiar with clinical procedures, infection-control practices, patient communication, and the importance of explaining care before sedation. I have never personally experienced anything like this. The combination of what I witnessed with the used needle, the dismissive response when I raised a contamination concern, and the lack of communication before anesthesia left me deeply concerned about my care. Patients undergoing anesthesia are in an exceptionally vulnerable position and should be able to expect careful infection-control practices, clear communication, and an anesthesia provider who identifies themselves and explains what is happening before administering sedation. Based on my personal experience, I would not feel comfortable receiving anesthesia from Gladys Narvades again. Note. I called the front desk today to obtain her name since my bedside Lucy also didn't know her name.

I came in for an epidural…read moreinjection and after the procedure was completed I was shocked by the $19,000 dramatically overpriced procedure compared to other providers in the area with very little explanation given beforehand. On top of that the service was disappointing. Staff communication was poor and the whole visit felt rushed. For a procedure that's stressful and requires trust this was not the level of care I expected. If you're considering this place I strongly recommend getting pricing in writing and shopping around first. There are better options out there that offer reasonable billing and more respectful patient care. It appears this business prioritizes profit over patient care. As someone who works with multiple personal injury law firms, I will be sure to share my experience with them.

UMIH OF CENTURY CITY:…read more Unfortunately, I have had the need for multiple MRI's, an ultrasound and a mammogram all within the past year alone. Fortunately, I found UMIH of Century City! I realize there are multiple UMIH locations in Los Angeles County to choose from, and I am not here to say that the other UMIH locations are bad. (plus, I've only been to one other UMIH location). What I am here to say is that UMIH Century City is in a class of their own! It was necessary for me to go to them, (instead of the UMIH location closer to my home), because they had the ability to perform an ultrasound and a mammogram ~ in addition to MRI's ~ of which I needed both. My slight annoyance (from having to drive further) and my general anxiety surrounding such things... started to disappear almost instantly when I was genuinely & warmly greeted by the front desk staff, Reina & Leslie. True gems who epitomized the perfect balance between welcoming & professional!! My MRI Tech, Soheila, was a continuation of the warm, kind and professional excellence of the front desk staff, plus she brought it up a notch with her seasoned skills, knowledge and her ability to get clear images by helping me feel as calm & comfortable as possible! One of my MRI's required a dye contrast to be injected into my vein half way through my total time in the machine. I barely felt anything when Soheila did this... a true pro!!! Long story long, I would drive across town in LA traffic, past multiple UMIH locations for UMIH, Century City for the staff alone!! You have choices when it comes to your health, including which MRI & Imaging facility you can ask for. I highly, HIGHLY recommend UMIH of Century City for all your imaging needs!!!!!

Unacceptable Short-Notice Rescheduling and Lack of Communication -…read more Dear Dr. Chandak, I am writing to bring a severe matter regarding your office's scheduling and communication practices to your immediate attention. An MRI was scheduled for me, for this coming Sunday, June 14th. This appointment was confirmed approximately two to three weeks ago. However, today--Friday, June 12th--less than 48 hours before the scheduled procedure, I received a text message abruptly stating that my appointment must be rescheduled to Monday. Following this notice, my husband attempted to contact your office five separate times to resolve this issue. Not a single call was answered, nor have we received any return communication. This level of service is entirely unacceptable. Forcing a patient to shift an appointment from a weekend to a workday on such short notice is a major disruption. Furthermore, leaving a patient completely unable to reach anyone to discuss the change is a terrible business practice that severely damages client trust. Please be advised that I am contacting the law firm that coordinated this referral to formally complain about this experience and ensure they are aware of how their clients are being treated. I expect a prompt response to resolve this situation immediately.

We came here with my dad after a previous MRI experience that ended like a deleted scene from a disaster movie. He's a big fellow. The last MRI machine swallowed him halfway, panicked, and basically said "nah". They had to call the fire department to extract him like a shipwreck survivor. I wish I were exaggerating. I am not. Enter Dynamic Upright MRI: calm, professional, spotless, and mercifully not shaped like a medieval torture tube. The staff didn't flinch. No sirens. No jaws of life. No tranquilizer darts. Just competence, confidence, and vibes that said, "Relax, we do this all the time." The office is conveniently located off Wilshire Boulevard with actual off-street parking--a rare Los Angeles miracle on par with seeing a unicorn parallel park. From start to finish, the service was top-notch. Friendly, efficient, reassuring, and shockingly drama-free given the circumstances. Dr. Hekmat took great care of me for 2 major surgeries, as well as Dr. Yaghoobian for my 2nd procedure. I healed extremely well & a scar isn't even noticeable whatsoever (they had to cut across my neck, to put a metal plate on my spine, after removing & replacing a crushed disc.) I most definitely recommend seeking their care. The only reason I didn't give a 5+ star, if that was possible, is due to all the rude treatment & games Ursula played. But they call you less than an hour before to tell you that they have to cancel your appointment because of an answer on your questionnaire. Guess what when you're charging over $400 for a scan you need to be more mindful and more professional about how you run your practice. Save your time and money and go elsewhere that handles patients with more grace and care. If I could give zero stars I would. Because if you handle patients as unprofessionally as you handle them before an appointment, I can imagine how bad it would be after.

I found Dr. Kelly through numerous referrals years ago, and he not only was an incredible doctor, but created the technology for the sono ultrasound. He has since retired and the new Doctor Who took over creates an amazing environment. I was greeted at the door with love, gentleness, presents, and simplicity in checking in. The ultrasound tech was funny, warm and made the experience wonderful. In this day and age finding a place where you're treated with respect and warmth, especially in the medical field is an unbelievable and rare gift and something I feel very grateful for experiencing.
