Snuffin's is an AMAZING catering option for your wedding. After our initial meeting with Jennifer, we were sold. Jennifer is absolutely wonderful, a straight shooter (which I so appreciate), and has a wealth of knowledge...especially when it comes to local vendors. But let's get to the food... The food is perfection. I've never been to a wedding where so many guests comment about the food - it really was a huge hit! The extra special thing about Snuffin's is that they put together a to-go basket for the bride and groom to enjoy once they are back at their hotel...it's fantastic! And finally, the staff. The staff is exceptional. They are attentive to not only the bride and groom, but all guests. They do an excellent job with setting up all of the tables. And they move mountains to make sure that all of your details are managed (for instance, one of the staff stood over our cake with an umbrella as it started to rain - wow!). I highly recommend the gorgonzola and pistachio crostinis and bacon-wrapped tots for your appetizers. And while the beef is ah-mazing, our guests RAVED over the Tuscany chicken. I visited Snuffin's Catering for a consultation for my wedding next year. First off, note that Snuffin's is in the BACK of the building and that you're able to drive up to where it is - you don't have to park in the lower lot. I feel terrible, but I forgot the woman's name that was leading our consultation! All I remember is that she was very sweet and was very thorough with the entire process. She gave me tons of ideas throughout the consultation and definitely helped me piece together more parts outside of the catering for my wedding! We got to try the most popular appetizers, and they were super good! I loved the Bacon Tots and the Crab & Artichoke dip Phyllo cups. Mmm. These guys crushed the catering at our wedding. One of my biggest fears is that I was going to have to spend all day giving vendors direction and not get to enjoy my own wedding. But I was prepared to do so if it meant everyone had a good time. From the time I showed up at the wedding venue, 10 minutes early, the folks from Snuffins were waiting in a van in idle mode. We went into the venue and my first piece of advice would be "we'll probably want to get the beverages cold as quickly as possible". Their van door slid open and they had a giant bucket of ice---it's like they read my mind. I knew my day would be much easier from that second forward. One of the things I learned about a wedding is you probably don't see the million things your caterer takes care of, but you'll see everything that they don't take care of. Everything from drinks, to the table settings, to the food, to the clean up went out without one single hitch. I literally talked to them maybe twice. Once to introduce myself and the other time to tip them out for smashing it. The guests were all very impressed with the food, multiple people commented on the salmon dish we had. The Blackberry Cobbler was a homerun for dessert. If you work with Snuffins for your event, you'll be very happy with the end result. read more

We worked with them for awhile but I decided to go with a different company as I was concerned they would not do a good job for us. My event was not large enough to matter and that became very clear. A friend of mine who was an event planner recommended I use them but after I communicated to her the LACK of communication I was receiving from Snuffins she said walk away. She was appalled how unprofessional they were and said the company was not like this when she used to work with them. Change of management? Lesson learned from this is if they don't seem happy to have your business then don't waste your time and certainly don't give them your business! I was so happy I went with a different caterer. Choosing Snuffin's for our wedding catering was one of the best decisions we made!!! They did so much for us beforehand with menu/table setting prep, on the big day, and afterwards. I truly don't know what we would have done without them. Day of their team went above and beyond in regards to table / decor setup and takedown!!! Their lead, Austin, was also incredibly attentive to me and my husband at the reception, filling our plates and always asking if we needed a drink. Not to mention the fact that we received sooooo much amazing feedback from our guests about the food and how delicious it was. Snuffins Catering is a very good catering company. They were easy to communicate with and friendly. Their food was great and every aspect of the Wedding food service was fine. Bartender was awesome and the wait staff attentive. We had a very small wedding of about 60 people. If you don't meet their minimum the prices are higher. With a small number of people they don't make as much money and I felt like they were less than happy that they weren't making a huge sale. But again, friendly enough. My issue is with the " tip suggestion" from Snuffins. It reads as follows: "Staff gratuities are left to your discretion and average 60.00 to 75.00 per server". Now, I only had 2 waitstaff at $24.00 per hour each. They were each hired for 4 hours so basically $100.00 each server. I spent a total of $200.00 on waitstaff. Now Snuffins suggests $60-75 tip per server??? That is like 75% tip !! When I asked at our initial meeting about tipping I was directed to their website which is the above statement. I am all for tipping when it is earned but 75% is ridiculous. I was not inclined to give this amount and gave each one $30.00. Still a 30% tip. Don't let them tell you this is normal. Catering south of Seattle can be such a nightmare. Not so with Snuffin's. We've used them for a number of years for formal occasions and beef tenderloin at Christmas time. Annie was our coordinator at Snuffin's for our daughter's wedding. She was very thorough in making sure we knew exactly how everything was going to work. They were on time, and the food was exactly how we planned and it was delicious. Before engaging Snuffin's, I was concerned that I'd have to "direct" the process and not be able to enjoy the reception. Nope! They did it all. The servers were great, the bartenders were great. I contacted Snuffin's to inquire about catering for our wedding. When I called, I spoke with a woman named Lisa, and I told her that I wanted to order a meat dish only for 50 people, and that we planned to do the side dishes on our own. Logistically, it is easier for us if we have the entree catered, I told her, and that we planned to pick up the food ourselves. Lisa asked the date, and when I told her, she told me that they were available. So far, so good. Lisa then asked me what I wanted for the entree. I told her that we were looking for roast chicken quarters "or something like that". Her tone became incredulous as she asked, "have you read our menus?" Roast chicken quarters isn't one of their usual items. I told her that I had, and repeated that I was looking for "something like that -- chicken of some kind" and hoped that they would be able to accommodate us with something similar. Lisa then asked me to hold. A minute later she picked up the phone again and said that she had just checked with the kitchen and that they were actually booked on that date. First they're available and then they're not? I smelled a rat. So after hanging up with Lisa, I went to the company's web site and submitted an inquiry under a pseudonym asking if they were available on the date of our wedding to provide the Tuscan Buffet from their menu for 225 people. Shortly afterward, I received an email back from Snuffin's - from Lisa, no less - telling me that yes, they are available to cater on that day. I have no idea why Snuffin's decided they didn't want my business. Yes, I mentioned wanting something that wasn't on their menu, but I also said, three times, that I was only looking for "something like that". I understand that they might not want to cook something off-menu. If that was the case, they should have told me that roast chicken quarters wasn't something they offered, and suggested another similar dish. I also understand that an entree-only request for 50 people wasn't going to be a huge amount of revenue for them, but if they had a minimum order amount, they should have said so. Instead, what they did was to lie to me. I don't appreciate that. Good relationships, be they marital or commercial, must be founded on trust. By lying to me, even in this small little way, they have shown that trust is something they don't deserve. Snuffin's won't be getting business from me, now or in the future, and I'm encouraging anyone who may be looking for a caterer for their own weddings or other special event to contract with another vendor. read more

The food at my wedding was awesome, not to mention the service and logistics assistance provided by Annie and Snuffin's. We were dealing with a brand new venue 2 hours from my house (Red Cedar Farm brides take note!), but Annie made everything seem so easy. My dad and I are both experienced event producers/planners and Annie exceeded our expectations. At our tasting, Annie walked me through the entire process and the Snuffin's service philosophy, and I'm extremely grateful that we made the decision to hire such a professional and personal vendor for the wedding. We had a great tasting, and I stayed in constant contact with Annie over the 8 months until the wedding. The food was super tasty (buffet with salmon, steak grilled on site, yum), the bar was always stocked with no line, and we stayed on schedule the whole night. We used Snuffins for our wedding at Historic 1625. From our initial meeting to the wedding itself, the entire process was amazing. Food and Drinks: We did a layered dip as an appetizer and a taco bar buffet for the main course. It was hot and delicious. We were able to buy our own alcohol and have them serve it (major plus!). Service: Wonderful! The head server carried our plates to our table so we wouldn't spill. Planning: Annie is so knowledgeable and flexible. They were decorated and well presented. All we had to do was take off the wrapping. We had many compliments on the quality of their food. We worked directly with Jennifer. We came in after having an overwhelming experience with the other caterer we had done a tasting with. I was naive going into the whole catering thing and actually even put down a deposit with the other catering company but we weren't please with our experience or the price so we started searching for another option. I grew up in Gig Harbor, so using a catering company from my home town had a special meaning. Getting my first quote from Jennifer/Snuffins gave me a similar feeling as the first catering company, that I was still over my head with how much it was going to cost. I lowered my estimated guest count which was more to make myself more comfortable with the quoted price. We worked with Jennifer to pick out an affordable menu, and we got to choose our own linens and service ware. So that was one less hassle we had to worry about since Snuffins rents and setups up the linens. Jennifer also threw in a hand passed appetizer of our choice for free! That essentially sealed the deal for us. Jennifer was always available to answer our questions via email (they also are available via phone but we didn't need to call). Our guest count ended up being only a few people over our original quote so I was very happy to know we weren't going to go much higher in price. We bought our own barware and cake disposables. We were able to reuse some leftover plasticware from my sister's wedding and save money by buying stuff for cheap off Amazon in the colors we wanted. The day of the wedding, I only got to peak while things were getting setup, but when I finally got to look at it everything turned out perfectly. The food was great and Jennifer even offered to get my husband and I a drink from the bar so we could sit down and eat. It all came together perfectly and I was so thrilled to have gone with my gut and chosen Snuffins! Would recommend them to anyone! read more

Snuffins did a fantastic job catering our wedding. We chose salmon as one of our entrees and I was worried about it being prepared off-site; however, at the wedding, it was so moist and flavorful and was some of the best salmon I had ever had. They provide exceptional Northwest cuisine and have a creative menu to choose from-- for example, we had brie/blackberry tartlets as hors d'oeuvres and roasted fall vegetables with feta as a side. Their bread presentation was something out of a magazine, it was gorgeous! Not only is their food excellent, the presentation is beautiful and service is professional and friendly. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we were on the phone with Annie at least once a day trying to figure out logistics. We got married at my childhood home and Annie came out to help us with our "vision" as far as tents, tables, and lighting would work out. She was always enthusiastic, supportive, and realistic with our ideas. They work with a rental company which ended up being a better value, so it was really helpful to have one point person for catering, tent, and logistic needs. I cannot begin to express the gratitude of snuffins from day one to the big day. My fiancé and I met Jennifer for our first consultation and delicious appetizers. We chose our plates, colors, and an initial menu. Very easy process and so many options to choose from. Payments were convenient and each time we dropped a check off the staff greeted us warmly. Three weeks before our big day we were invited to a fall menu tasting and when my fiancé decided on a different menu than the initial one, changing the menu was extremely easy. Jennifer and her staff made our big day run without a flaw. They came in and set everything up at Thornewood Castle (the two have a fantastic working relationship by the way) while guests arrived and we married in the garden. Once the ceremony was over Jennifer immediately greeted my wife and I to offer us wine- which we needed after crying like girls! Upon arrival to our table we had appetizers waiting for us and dinner- DELICIOUS. Our guests raved on how delicious everything was and how the bartender kept them topped off all night. The servers made their ways around the tables to see if our guests were doing well and even served my grandma a gluten free dish tableside. And after dinner? No worries on the clean up! We had a venue that only worked with certain vendors and Snuffin's was one of them -- and we're so glad we chose them! The food was delicious, and although I was tempted to go back for seconds and thirds, I refrained (barely). They even packed up a huge basketful of leftovers for us to take with us (including wrapping up two of our cupcakes to enjoy later as well). Planning the wedding with them was great as well. I didn't have a huge vision and am not a big event planner, and they made it simple (and dare I say, fun?) to pick out cutlery, plates, napkins and food. Wow! I just can't say enough good things about Snuffin's. They catered our wedding this July, which took place in our home. We had about 60 people, and the space the staff had to work in was small. They were so gracious, from the awesome bartender Nick to our event captain Megan and our servers. The food was delicious (the bacon-wrapped tots can't be beat and the salmon fillets were moist and tender). The planning phase was excellent as well. My husband and I had our wedding during Veteran's Day weekend 2014 and on relatively shorter notice than usual. Sharon Snuffins got us right in on a busy weekend day. We even took the wrong ferry and Sharon was absolutely workable around her busy schedule with events during the day. She showed us her extremely clean and beautiful kitchen, her staff, food, preparations and decorations during the consultation and spent a lot of time with us going through practical yet elegant options for cutlery, décor, and food. The food....hands down amazing! The samples/tasting was to die for! We decided to go with the Northwest Italiano Dinner Buffet package/dish option with Gorgonzola crackers and prongs. During the planning and prep, Sharon was always prompt with responses and ensured we were able to work out all the payments within our budget. On the day of the wedding Sharon was not supervising the staff, however you would've thought she was over everyone's shoulders ensuring it was the best wedding anyone had been too. The staff was just as friendly and professional as she was, showing a true and healthy reflection throughout her business. The staff was extremely attentive to not just the wedding party, but the guests at every corner, plus I always had a scotch in my hand! Snuffin's Catering did an incredible job at our wedding! I got so much feedback from everyone that the food was amazing! We had three action stations for dinner and an ice cream station to go along with our other desserts. We got the noodle station, the slider station, and the tuscan vegetable station. All very delicious! For apps, we had the blackberry/brie tart, sun-dried tomato tart, and smoked salmon/cucumber bites. These were amazing! I thought maybe having two tarts was going to be strange, but they were so different in flavor, that it turned out great. We were both very impressed with how well the whole dinner turned out! We worked with Jennifer, who made us feel very good about the whole thing. She was very easy going and gave us recommendations when we asked. Out of all the caterer's my niece chose this one and so did her mother. That in itself was a miracle. Snuffin's is the preferred caterer for Thornewood Castle and Gardens which made it even better because we had reserved it the day before. The appetizers and their service were classy, the buffet was excellent! Well served, efficient, quiet, and professional. Wish I had taken some pictures, but they would just make me hungry. I just had my wedding and was extremely pleased with everything about Snuffins! I booked last minute, panicking a month before my wedding and they easily found us the perfect menu to go with our budget. They provided beautiful dishes and the communication with them was great. We were able to have exactly what we wanted and more! The staff, I was bothered by the price at first but let me just say they are worth every penny! They were all so very sweet and had saved us some appetizers because they all went out so quickly! The head coordinator was so sweet and she had kept me updated with everything, I was so pleased. The bartender was very sweet. In all my guests all left raving about the food and service, I'm so happy we went with them and would advise anyone else to as well! Also to try their Mac n cheese! We had appointment here, but when we arrived the person we had an appointment with seemed too busy to meet us. We were told that we would need to pick our food up by noon, should not order hot food as it would get cold before our 6:00 party and we would need to return their platters. All this while standing by their front office door. We were not offered a chair, a glass of water or a private room in which to discuss our event. Who does business like this? Not only is the food always delicious, but the staff is extremely professional and courteous and a pleasure to work with.
