21-hour smoked brisket, yes please!…read more Now, I might be new here, but I know what I like. I walked in the room and the aroma made my whole body tense up in anticipation. I was practically gnawing at the air on my way in. I admit a quick small squeal squeaked out as I approached the steaming meats selection. I asked for "just a bit, please" and was encouraged to try the whiskey sauce. I did drizzle that on there! When I settled in my seat I picked around my other treats first, so as to save what I hoped was the best for last. The brisket. My first bite caused my eyes to shoot wide open, just so flavorful and warm how it comes! Second bite, with sauce. I took a slightly larger bite than before. I knew what was coming! But that sauce, I was not expecting! A kick of flavor I've never witnessed before... I was clawing my way towards my third bite! I did manage to savor this one a little longer, really hitting my stride for the meal. It was then my mother informed me "Food before one is just for fun!" as she finished the rest for herself, offering me a slice of bell pepper to gum on in place of that delicious meat. I was displeased greatly. I'll be hoping mom remembers this brisket in 7 months when I'm old enough to eat a whole plate without her claiming its unnecessary! - Juniper, 5 months old

We planned on 50 people and she provided enough food to feed all of the personnel at JBLM. OK, that may be a slight exaggeration but there was sooooooo much food no one went hungry and there was plenty for people to take leftovers home. My wife and I are mexican food connoisseurs and I'm telling you, Cindy's taco bar with all the fixins was some of the best we've ever had. In addition to the amazing food, Cindy's set up and clean up were also amazing. We didn't do anything except enjoy the party! Thank you so very much Cindy!!!

Chef Sunshine Catering provided very lovely food for our wedding this past September (my mom still…read moresays the majority of the apps/dishes were too salty, agree to disagree). Unfortunately, my mom and I CAN agree that the food is now the only positive component of our interaction. This company has been so unprofessional and dismissive of my family's reasonable concerns regarding our wedding post event and it is all very upsetting, especially following such a joyous event. The gist is that we had a few basic points of feedback that we wanted addressed, which included the salads not being individually plated and pre-set (the salad type was specifically chosen given options delineated by the caterer for this purpose), running out of potable water (of which we paid for), and a variety of guest service concerns including the bartender informing guests that they were "running out of wine" when we had cases of wine available to be brought out. Our contact responded to our concerns very unprofessionally and over-reactively (IMHO) in her first email. Then, when my mom took the time to provide further detail and support of the issues at hand, and express her own frustrations as a key financial stakeholder in the wedding, that email was met with a very terse response that didn't even address any of the items that had been thoughtfully (and factually) laid out. All our contact said was that they "take all clients concerns seriously" and then "wished us all the best" and then, that was that. Short and not so sweet. Never an apology or ownership, just defensiveness, blame, and then a couple thank you for the feedback. We paid this company thousands of dollars for our once in a lifetime event and not having concerns addressed appropriately and professionally is just a complete let down, on multiple levels. I understand that there are not a ton of options out on the peninsula. What I am confused about is the lack of adherence to even a base line of customer service, let alone this "superior service" that they boast. To make matters even more disappointing, to date we have not been contacted by Chef Sunshine herself (not to mention neither she or Chef Patrick checked in on us once at our Tasting which is fairly standard practice). I have over 10 years of experience working in the hospitality industry and I was so excited to work with a caterer whose reviews boasted kindness, price flexibility, and creativity--in the end, given our final interactions with this company, success in all of these areas (and more) fell very short of expectations.

I can't even begin to describe how many compliments we received on the food. Between an amazing cheese platter featuring all local cheeses (I'm still receiving inquiries about which cheese they used!) to a beautifully plated, delicious buffet with a menu customized just for us, there are no words to describe how tasty everything was! Their service was also beyond reproach. Since our venue typically uses a list of set caterers they require any outside caterers to tour the premises so they have a clear proposal for how they use the space. Sunshine, her husband, and their chef all drove nearly 80 miles and took a ferry to spend the afternoon touring the space. We were also able to sit down with Sunshine and plan out a menu that worked perfectly with our theme and worked well within our budget. Their prices were extremely reasonable and well worth every cent! During our wedding they went out of their way to make sure my husband and I got to try everything, packaged up all the leftovers for us, and even helped clean up! Without a doubt, hiring Sunshine's was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. I couldn't be happier with the results and encourage anyone thinking of hiring them to do so without a doubt!

Chef Michael then organize the menu with my son and his fiancé. Chef Michael showed up and started his prep, he was very professional and approachable. His organization in the kitchen was amazing. We had 10 adults and three grandchildren at the tables. Chef Michael treated the kids with respect and described each dish as it came out. We had five appetizers, a couple salads, and the main with two sides. Everything was exceptional, we are still talking about it. We will remember this meal forever. Chef Michael packed up leftovers, and clean the kitchen immaculately. We couldn't be any happier with the service and the food that we received. The grandkids favorite course was the grilled octopus, amazing! We would definitely recommend and would do this again in a heartbeat. Thanks to Laura and Chef Michael

I ordered the Tijuana Burrito with chicken. It is supposed to come with rice, cilantro, onions, lettuce, cheese and beans. Unfortunately, it was almost all rice and really bland. There was just one bite of chicken, almost none of their homemade beans and some lettuce. Then they did not seem to have any cheese, but did have some sour cream (maybe they ran out of cheese, but should have told people). The burrito was $19 and no excuse to pack it full of rice. This was really disappointing, the food vendors here are usually excellent (my wife was smarter and had a sandwich from Purple and loved it). Perhaps the tacos or Baja Bowl are better.

It's parked in a lot that's within walking distance of my site and I imagine quite a few other places as when I would look out the window, I'd see a few people ordering each time. I decided to go with the "Street tacos" - It comes with not 3 but 4 tacos, on corn tortillas (instant points for this) and the usual other accompaniments - radish, onion, sauce. I got the 2 asada and 2 Soy chorizo as you can mix and match. The asada was good, not the best I've had when it comes to tacos and the seasoning I've had with comparable tacos, but the soy chorizo was really good. Very impressive flavor. It was about $16 I believe so about $4 a taco, not the most egregious I've seen in pricing, but decent. I also got bag of tortilla chips free, but they did give any salsa. The ones included for the tacos also were pretty small. That all said the food is decent and if you're looking for some food truck tacos and see Isidros, they'll do the trick.

My mom and auntie were crying and had goosebumps over the creampuffs. If that doesn't tell you something about Gayle.... Gayle was SO great from our first meeting down to the party. She even came and helped set up. She also greeted my mom! She is a true gem of a human being. Her crew was outstanding as well- very obvious they enjoy working for Gayle. They seemed to be having a good time at the party, and everything from set up to service to tear down was easy schmeasy. I literally did nothing. The only thing I did not like was the way they packed up the leftovers (we had curry over rice and I would have packed them separately to freeze... but I mean not really a big deal we had them for leftovers). While Gayle is a bit more on the pricey side, at the end of the day when it comes to events most people are only going to remember the food and drinks- and Gayle delivered! I would 10 out of 10 work with Gayle again for any event, large or small (or for specific items if she just does that). I know she does cooking classes and dinners to go which I will definitly be trying in the future. Thank you Gaye and crew for helping make my moms party a HUGE success. I cannot tell you how happy she was, especially because some of her favorite childhood foods were there!
