We set up a pre-purchase inspection to get a better idea of the vehicles condition before traveling across the country. Upon arriving in Roanoke we were not disappointed in the vehicle at all. After purchasing, we had them take care of a pretty good list of service and maintenance items to get the vehicle ready for our 1,800 mile trip home. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff! If we lived here, this would be our go-to auto shop. Thank you Leslie and team for making this all happen for us.

(Quick note: Yelp says R&R closes at 5 pm, when they actually close at 4. Granted not that big of a…read moredifference but it ended up meaning I inadvertently called them at one point after they'd closed.) I brought my old van in last Monday for a very overdue inspection. R&R was the 6th mechanic I'd tried to get an inspection from over the previous 3 weeks - every other place told me they couldn't do it that day, or I'd need to leave it at least overnight (or three days in one case), their inspector was only there 1 or 2 days a week, and so on. Some of those places I'd tried multiple times without any luck. I'd gotten a recommendation for R&R at the previous place I'd just tried, and was told that it was likely they would take me right in. They did, and though it turned out I needed a new headlight, they ordered the headlight and fit me in first thing on Thursday, the morning after the headlight arrived. Done and done. I figured that whoever got me in for the inspection instead of giving me a list of reasons they couldn't do it would get my business from here on out, and I still feel that way. So 5 stars to R&R.

READ THIS!!…read more Yesterday my son (Jack) was traveling back to college from San Antonio to Washington DC. I had just purchased a 2011 Lexus for him and he was driving it back to college. We were nervous as this was a car that we had just went in for major repairs right after we purchased it.... At roughly 8 pm, after 800 miles that day, warning lights came on and the car was not acting smooth at certain speeds. A few years ago we burned up the engine of pickup because of ignoring warning lights....Jack pulled over and found a hotel to spend the night. He called me the next morning and wanted to know what to do. I called Lexus and with Jack thought the best idea was to find the best repair place in town and leave the car for a few weeks as they did what would likely be a major repair or replacement of the transmission (that is what the codes were saying). I called Norms and the man in charge said he was working on a 2010 with the same symptoms......have Jack come over and we will pull the pan and see what is going on...Jack made the 8 min drive from a different repair shop he was at. The group dropped all they were doing to help this young traveler...over the next 2-3 hours they found a leak from the repair that had just been done and that meant all the transmission fluid leaked for the past 1200 miles....almost all gone. They tighten the connection that the repair in San Antonio had not done right....put in 4-5 quarts of transmission fluid. Went on a 30 minute test drive and then ran the car overhead to ensure no leaks.......Jack was on his way to DC....They took care of this kid and got him all set from what was sure to be a major catastrophe.... Later that day, Jack told me they did all of this ....and did not charge him a penny...makes you want to cry... We seem to always forget about all the good that comes from helping others....this is so so special and often why we are here...it is not about $, but about the opportunity to serve others. Norms and their entire team are probably practicing this every day and in every way.....I am just a grateful parent that was the beneficiary of this special group. We have 7 children (Jack is #2 and a very special kid....). This seemingly simple process is what makes your heart warm and be very grateful. Thank you to the entire team at Norms and the impact you have....it is special and so very much appreciated. I am deeply appreciative that you at Norms set out every day to help others and be of service....it is more meaningful than you may know...
