The barista hadn't heard of the program or deal, but she was happy to honor my little online coupon thing. I brought my laptop to do a little work (not my general thing but gave it a shot). Found a small table to sit at but if your back is to the window facing out, you're on a bench and have to sit really far back (and pull the table close) if you want the window to be your backrest. I think I'd actually prefer a chair there. Also the music wasn't anything crazy but was WAY too loud. It's a coffee shop, chill it down! I had my ear buds in and it didn't block out any of the music at all. Coffee was decent but I don't like when shops only have sugar or sugar in the raw. Gimme my fake stuff please - let me choose how I want to die lol. Anyway, this spot was alright for doing some work or meeting up with someone - parking is easy and in a lot.

I was hoping the small coffee would be free with purchase of bag, but I guess it wasn't. The bag of coffee wasn't cheap, so I was disappointed in how over-roasted the beans were. Adjusting grind levels and water temperature, there was always a bitterness or too watered down. The other flavors present in the beans, however, we're quite nice. I was hoping that they would have real kona coffee, but unfortunately their supplier suffered from disaster in Hawaii. Not going to blame them for that, but objectively speaking, if a Hawaiian coffee shop doesn't have Hawaiian coffee, then I am sad about it. At the same time, due to the circumstances, there is a compelling reason to throw some more support behind them.

The kind of balance that feels intentional, like someone actually tasted it before handing it over instead of just pushing buttons behind a machine. And then the ham and cheese croissant. The ham had actual presence, not just a salty afterthought, and the cheese melted into it like it belonged there from the beginning. Indulgent without tipping into regret. Unfortunately i has a real bad experience. I had been told they have bad service here and they do. Owners don't care about customer service, just want to make money. If they give you something that's underdone like the Taiyaki then you have to either buy a new one or eat the one you have. That's Unfortunate! They will fight and say you are wrong and get defensive instead of solving the situation by simply replacing the Taiyaki cone. Ohh well probablybest to just stick to their Shaved Snow as it's always consistent. Will stay away from everything else! 8.27- went back here again and once again horrible service. After waiting for over 15 mins fir my dessert fir here they said they had to make it to go and it wouldn't tell me how long. Once again worst service and rude employees. Guess they will never learn what customer service really is! Sad!!!! read more

Snowl Cafe is a whole vibe! The aesthetic is super cute -- you could totally have a photoshoot here. It's the perfect spot to hang out, relax, and take in the adorable atmosphere. While the giant Korean shaved ice snow bowls are the star of the show here, I come here for the taiyaki with chocolate. These adorable little fish-shaped desserts come out hot, crisp, and gooey -- I can easily inhale a whole order by myself! It's self-service ordering at a touch screen, and while the service can be a bit slow, trust me, it's well worth the wait. I got a taiyaki bowl with green tea icecream and red bean filling. There were three inch long plastic fibers in the taiyaki batter. I only realized this because I felt one of them poking the back of my throat as I was swallowing. I am almost certain they are plastic because they are clear, durable, bendable, and snap back to being straight once bent. Almost like those plastic tabs that attach price tags to new clothing. If it weren't for the biohazard, the dessert was pretty good and easily 4/5. read more

There was a pretty good line since it was so packed, we used the online ordering kiosk and got one of their "snows" - snow bowls. Although the most popular are the strawberry and mango, I decided to try the black sesame as it is my personal fave. We also got it with an extra side of condensed milk, which really made a difference and amped up the texture and flavor. It was pretty good, it came with a mochi and frozen red bean paste, almonds, and plenty of shaved ice. It was a giant bowl, too much for two people even, and we took the rest of it home. Surprisingly, it was even better later on when the snow had turned into more of a gelato texture. At nearly $20 for the bowl it's no steal, but it was a nice treat, and I'm happy to say that I've tried it.

For the taiyaki, there are only two options for flavor- matcha or milk tea. There are quite a few filling flavors available. I got the milk tea with Nutella filling and topped with mini Oreos. It was delicious, but not the best I've had. My husband got the Snow Bowl- I tried a few bites and it was delicious! I may have to make that my next foodie showdown. There were some odd restrictions around whether or not you can eat the to go in the building and they lock that bag down to ensure that I guess. Since it is such a large portion of the dessert, seems like it would make sense to have it to go in case you can't finish it. Just feels like an unnecessary restriction. The snow bowls are amazing though! We got the mango and it was gloriously refreshing- told my fella it would be used to bribe me any day of the week. It would be cool if there were different sizes though because the serving is probably enough for several people or one person for multiple sittings- like a small, med, mega situation would be cool. Some ups and down, but I definitely wouldn't turn down another visit to Snowl!
