We used to do a lot more Oregon coast or Whistler but with border closing and Oregon shutting down! Can't do much. Love: we love suncadia. Our recent trip this month was for my birthday. So I decided to splurge and get a penthouse. We didn't need that much room but figured why not! Not all rooms were created equal. That's for sure! We checked into our penthouse to find deli fried chicken someone left in the fridge, m&ms under bed, dust all over! Especially behind the tv stand, very visible area. Also candy wrappers on the floor. It was very poorly cleaned especially for pandemic! I went to front desk and showed them the photos of all the dust, chicken and candy wrappers. The girl was nice apologized and gave us resort credit. You can use it only in the lodge building restaurant/ bar and gift shops. Which came in handy later when we found out the fridge didn't work and ended up having to dump all our food. Also: Devon from front desk: first told me he'd check with manager for changing rooms. Later, turned out he was the manger. That was weird and left a sour taste. Back to the room: It's a full size massive fridge. I brought cakes, food and other perishable items in cooler bags with ice. Also a blue tooth device for the fridge just to keep the temperature in checked. It took 4-5 hours for the fridge to cool down / below 50 degrees. Ended up having to dump the food because food in warm fridge? Just unnecessary! They can't do much to help except give me ice. They did send someone up but he told me he doesn't trust anything with smart phone devices. And told me I was wrong. aka the blue tooth's temperature! Overall, love suncadia and previous stays. Hate suncadia penthouse stay/ experience!! Would not come back for this. Or if we do, definitely skipping the penthouse!Too many errors for one room. Totally not worth it and ruined our happy spot. We still made it happy somewhat. But all the stress could've been avoided!

The caboose itself was the highlight of the trip for the kids. They thought it was soooo cool and loved their own little bunks up high. The caboose had its own deck area and we appreciated the amount of space we had. The kids also fell in love with the resident goats, bunnies and chickens on the property, as well as partaking in numerous games of horseshoes. The check in process was smooth and we loved the personal touch from Matt and his family. To top it off, we were rewarded with a gourmet breakfast made to order in the morning that was on par or better than any high end restaurant. We will absolutely return here next time we visit the area.

The Iron Horse Inn B&B was converted over 30 years ago from a long-empty lodging house for railroad…read moreworkers into a bed and breakfast, one I frequented over half a dozen times over the years. In late 2019 a chimney fire spread to the whole structure, luckily when there were no guests present, and the inn burned to the ground. Others might have walked away, but the owners didn't, they rebuilt it better than ever. The new Inn has four spacious bedrooms on the main floor, plus an expansive common room where one can lounge on sofas by the gas fireplace, make a cup of tea, chat with other guests. It also has tables for breakfast, which featured delicious egg dishes with eggs the owners let our granddaughter "harvest" from the chicken coop nearby when we arrived. The new inn is quite a change from "before the fire" when the original room configuration was small rooms and common bathrooms down the hallway, just the way the railway workers had it. But there's something to be said for spacious rooms and private bathrooms, as it is now. Over the years the inn also acquired four cabooses. These have been open while the inn itself was rebuilt, but without breakfast as there was no common room or kitchen for that. Breakfast in the main inn building is now part of the deal for the cabooses. Our adult son and his wife and two kids (7& 11) were over the moon over the experience of sleeping in a caboose! They all shared one of the two cabooses that have child-sized beds in the former cupula sitting area atop the caboose. The adults had the queen bed on the main level of the caboose and the kids were up high, similar to the top bunk of a bunk bed, with windows giving them a 360 view when the curtains were pulled back. We are SO happy to see the Iron Horse Inn B&B back at "full steam" again. Our room, the common room and the caboose were spanking clean, the breakfast tasty and filling, the coffee endless, the hosts some of the friendliest b&b owners we've encountered over the years. The Inn is also connected by a short path to the former rail yard of the Milwaukee Road train line that closed up shop in the 1970s. Train buffs will want to spend a bit of time walking around a self-guided tour of the train yard, where the station is still there in fading glory, and remains of the former roundhouse and other structures may be examined like archeological ruins. This is also a great area for biking, and many years ago I led a bike club trip from the inn. Quiet country roads parallel I-90 for many miles in both directions and also off to Roslyn and Lake Cle Elum, and the path of the Milwaukee Road train line is now a bike path that runs from the Seattle suburbs to points east of the Columbia River.

It happens to be in downtown Cle Elum, and as in with walking distance to a few local bars and restaurants. From the moment we stepped in, we felt so much at home. The space was warm and charming with attention to detail on all levels. The room had an appealing modern atmosphere. The cozy bed with luxury sheets and pillows were amazing to sleep in. We loved having our coffee in the morning in the front room with the small kitchenette. We also enjoyed having access to a fridge where we could bring back a nice bottle of wine for a nightcap. When we went to check out, I have the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ellen and her adorable dog Lady. The lobby is quite elegant with treasure troves a beautiful treasures. I shared with her that we truly enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back!

Last week I last minute booked a 1 night stay at Hotel Roslyn for a Saturday night. My mom and I…read moreneeded to be in Cle Elum Sunday morning, so I figured it be a fun girl's getaway for the night in Roslyn. I did see they were listed on Airbnb as well, but I booked directly through their website, we got the King studio for around $200 for the night. The morning of check-in I received an email for a contactless check-in, that was a nice touch! The hotel is in a great location and main street is just around the corner from it! We parked on the street, got into our room with the code they emailed us, and walked into town for dinner. The room is super cute! Nice modern touches all around. The walls are kinda thin, later in the night we heard ppl downstairs, it sounded like in the staircase, and it was pretty loud, but didn't last for long. The bed was comfy, they had dishes, mini fridge (no freezer in this room), and a convenient microwave. I did notice this hotel is listed on Redfin for sale ($4+ mill, I was just poking around Redfin and noticed the listing). Hopefully if they sell, the facilities will stay as nice! I asked the front desk and they have been open for almost 2 years they said. Looks brand spanking new still, especially compared to the historic buildings of Roslyn. Loved our stay here and would recommend to friends under current management! (which a friend did end up booking for a weekend because she saw my photos I posted on my IG hehe)

Having three children under seven I knew I wanted enough space offering less restrictive parameters hotel room would yield. A week before arrival I found a perfect All Seasons Vacation rental property on Vrbo that was available. The correspondence was prompt, and very professional. I instantly felt good about my very quick booking, and at ease. Leah the property manager was exceptionally courteous , and provided excellent customer service. Our rental space was PERFECT, my family was extremely happy, and comfortable during our stay. The property was very clean, spacious, adorned with all the amenities, and childproofed (THANK YOU Daisy!) My husband and I plan to book again next year for an extended stay just to make it a fall family tradition. The home was completely furnished and had all the bedding, towels and kitchen items needed. The home had two bedrooms, a "loft" with 3 twin beds in a stadium arrangement. The final room was on office that had a hide-a-bed. Overall the home was very nice to stay at and was very comfortable. The Inn had a restaurant and bar. Did not have anything from the restaurant so cannot rate at this time. The whole Suncadia area is beautiful anytime of the year. They have deer and elk roaming around and the area is perfect to hike, walk or relax. They do have dog approved rooms. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, never an issue and always said "hi". Would highly recommend this for long weekend or a weeklong escape from the city. I personally need to come back and do some exploring of Rosalyn and Cle Elem, two areas I drive through often and never stop. Need that to change.

It turned out all I could see from the room was the parking lot! When I went back asking for what I paid for they said they are all booked and can not do anything now! (They did provide some resort credit and I added a star for that) but the Birthday trip was spoiled looking at the parking lot :( I was told a supervisor would reach out but never heard from anyone, I guess they don't care for the guest once they pay! They just want you to shut up and take whatever they offer Rooms: At first look rooms looked nice and eventually the downward journey started, room bedding had some pungent smell and we could barely sleep at the night, to add the beds were the worst beds I have ever slept on. We could literally feel the springs all night. I bet a motel on the highway would have better beds than this 3-4 star resort. We decided to use our sleeping bags and sleep on the floor. They really need to improve the customer service and overall hygiene and cleanness in the room

They did NOT send me a confirmation email like they promised letting me know they charged my card. Then I had to cancel my reservation less than 24 hours later, from making it, and the person who answered the phone was NOT able to do the transaction change right away and said she would call me back and never contacted me back. 3.5 days later, I've been calling and e-mailing with NO RESPONSE, no e-mail or phone confirmation, and $400 out of my bank account. Its like they went MIA. The place looks cute, but I am extremely frustrated with their customer service.

Deadbolt does not fit into lock. Keys are difficult to use. Wireless internet didn't work. No DVD player in the TV. Only one bedside table makes drinking in bed inconvenient. No alarm clock. No shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. Super thin walls; we could clearly hear our fellow B&Bers talking in normal conversational tones. Breakfast was undercooked eggs, limp bacon, a lettuce leaf (?), French toast and syrup, and fruit with some kind of cream on it. The fruit was the best part. Also, breakfast was promised at 8:30; it arrived at 9 with no apologies or excuses. After staying here, I complained about it to my cousin, who said, "Oh! I wish I'd known you were going there; I would have steered you away." PS: I emailed the Log Cabin last week, to give them a chance to respond, apologize - something. No response, so now I'm telling the truth online. 7/12 edit: Log Cabin emailed back, saying, "Sorry you were unhappy." Good that they responded; bad that they used a cop-out "apology" (we all know that when someone says "I'm sorry you feel that way," they don't really believe they're wrong).. My review stays.
