My family really enjoys Snooze and we've been coming here for years, but this visit was a mixed experience. The place was packed both inside and outside, with lots of people waiting for tables. We sat outside this time (pet-friendly, which is great if you have dogs) and placed our usual breakfast orders. I was excited to see the sweet potato pancake back on the menu, but the caramel syrup on top was overpowering -- it completely took away from the flavor of the pancake itself. I scraped off what I could, but the caramel taste still dominated. Our entrées arrived next. I had ordered extra extra crispy hash browns on both plates, and neither came out crispy at all. One person in my party didn't want to wait, but I sent mine back. A manager came by right away, asked what the issue was, and handled it professionally. I appreciated that. We also ordered hot chocolate and coffee. The hot chocolate was delicious, but the coffee tasted watered down, was warm and lacked flavor. When I mentioned it to the server, she told me it was "black coffee," which made me laugh internally -- I know what black coffee is, but I've had Snooze's coffee many times and it's usually flavorful (though often warm instead of hot). When my omelette and hash browns finally came back, the hash browns were better, but the omelette had way more cheese than the "light cheese" I had requested. Every bite was packed with unmelted cheese so I ended up scraping most of it off. Overall, it feels like any time we make a specific request here, it doesn't get noted or it gets lost between the server and the kitchen. I'm not exaggerating -- we almost always have to send something back. You might ask why we keep returning, and the answer is simple: my family enjoys the food, and the staff does try to make things right. Sad they no longer have the barbacoa/short rib. Steak is a bit drier than that was, but toppings are still good, and portion is large. My boyfriend asked for the cheese to be removed, and this is the third time it still came with cheese. On our third visit to this Huntington Beach Shangri-La, as soon as we entered, Katie, the hostess who quite frankly, should be the official Snooze hospitality director, greeted us, paused a moment and said, "I think I remember you - you drive from LA". She was so happy to see us and seated us right away AND at our favorite table. Passing through to get to the outside patio, we saw AndI and she saw us. With a smile, she welcomed us back. We were seated and in an instant we met our waitress, Gaia. She has worked at a few Snooze locations and was as lovely as everyone we've met in the past. Once again, the food here is simply heaven in a meal. The strawberry shortcake, chocolate ganache and buttermilk pancake flight was a perfect start to our "Foodcation". I've written before about their outstanding eggs benedict and it is as perfect as always. Greg, the manager heard we were back and came over to say hello and also to thank us for all the kind things we have said about Snooze. I've never seen a manager of a restaurant who is as beloved by a staff as he is. Greg thinks the world of them and it was evident as he talked to us and a few of them came by. We heard that Greg got married last week so we were happy to hear about his joy. I can't get over how amazing this restaurant is and I hope that Snooze grows in size with more locations. It would be wonderful for them to open one in Los Angeles but we will make the journey on special occasions to Huntington Beach because Greg and his company are like family now. First time here! It was a Sunday so there was a small wait but they offer a wait list so we just put our name down and drove the 15 min and by the time we got there we were ready. This is located in Bella Terra, so parking could be easy or hard depending on volume of people at Bella Terra! The lavender latter was great! Just the right amount of lavender and sweetness! The Bella Bella Benedict is their take on an Italian benadict. I LOVE benedicts so tried it. The prosciutto was yummy and I quite enjoyed the toast underneath as it had the perfect crunch. Highly recommend the Yelp waitlist because there were a lot of people waiting around in front. My boyfriend had their Corned Beed Hash ($16.75) that has grass fed and dry rubbed corned beef, hashbrowns, caramelized poblanos and onions, and 2 eggs with toast. I had their Shrimp and Grits ($19.50) that's their cheesy grits with cajun sauteed shrimp, andouille sausage, sauteed peppers and onions topped with a sunny side up. And I also had a Bacon Bloody Mary. Love love love their food. I am a fan of Snooze and they do a great job being consistent among their locations, and this HB locations is just as delicious as other locations I have been to. It comes with two eggs made to your preference, hash browns, and the beef, of course. It was good for your typical American breakfast type of food. My friend got a decaf coffee and seemed to enjoy it. I saw that there are also mocktails here which is nice. The service was very wonderful. Casual family friendly establishment, parking is kind of bad because it's in Bella Terra. My friend got there a few minutes earlier than me and put us on the waitlist. From the time we stepped foot into this eatery, my daughter had a stroller and somebody rushed to open the door for us. Accommodating us in our seating due to the stroller was not seen to be any problem, and our waiter was very cordial and professional and personable. Not sure what was wrong with the waitress that served us today, but she was incredibly rude right from the start, right when we sat down. Limited interaction is fine. Smiling is not necessary. I understand we all have a bad day but to drop off the check and request payment while we're eating and clean up our plates when we were still sitting and having a conversation is beyond unacceptable behavior. We didn't ask for her to do all that and it was clear that she was unhappy to wait our table for absolutely no reason. So yummy, especially when we asked for more of the chile verde sauce. The beef was great, and I also really enjoyed the hashbrown. The OMG French Toast was sooo yummy. First things first, our waitress was so nice.. I think her name was Alyssa and she was telling us some of her life story and she was so tough and inspiring. I made a reservation on a Saturday morning and we didn't really have to wait at all once arriving due to the rezzy. I came with a friend and my toddler and we had a wonderful brunch. We got mimosas, the sweet potato hash, a barbacoa burrito and a kids scrambled eggs and toast. My burrito was flavorful and they were able to do half and half with the red and green sauce. I realized I actually enjoy the green more, but it was nice to try the red. My gluten free friend loved her sweet potato breakfast, it was super healthy for her. I always have a tough time choosing sweet or savory, but I shared the pancakes with a friend and it was more than enough to satisfy that bit! The egg white scramble was very moist so it tasted too watery for me. The Chicken Sausage was the star of my plate. It helped the scramble have that missing flavor. Great service and awesome food. I got the corn beef hash with a strawberry pancake. The strawberry was fresh and the pancake tasted a lot like a cake instead. It was delicious.
