Stopping at Snooties is the high point of every trip I make through this part of the country, enough so that I plan the drive around their open hours. I love, love, love their ribs - tender, tangy, with just the right amount of hot - well-laden with sauce, but not a goopy mess (though extra sauce is offered for those who prefer that sort of thing). Nothing here has ever disappointed and their prices are very reasonable. Snooties made a big step up a few years ago when they acquired a property, now a lovely picnic area, perfect for a little relaxation on a long road trip, though its a spot where I'd stay to enjoy my food even if I was a local. (note: I posted two photos, one with a can of Hamms. Snooties doesn't sell alcohol, but there were tubs of ice with deliciously cold soda/pop for just $1 last time I was there. And if you want a beer with your BBQ, they sell it at Snooties' original location, the nearby gas station.) read more

Unbelievable! Delicious! If you are looking for the best BBQ, this is it! We literally stop here almost every weekend during the summer. Never disappoint! We even buy the bottled BBQ sauce for home. Great food, great people, great find! I stopped by with my family to grab some lunch and everyone left happy and full! We ordered the family size (pints) sliced chicken, pulled pork and pulled brisket, along with the Mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was SO good! I especially liked the spicy bbq sauce with my brisket....mmm mmm mmm! The potato salad was unique and delicious. The chef and the two ladies on the truck were all smiles, friendly and patient. My kiddos asked for a couple of samples and the kindly obliged. We don't live in the area, but will definitely return next time we visit! read more

Have been here many a time. It is a food truck/takeout restaurant. Food is always hot and cooked well. Service goes above and beyond to cater to your needs the ambiance is not great as it is in a small area with gravel drive way. Not there for the ambiance just good bbq. Little food truck style on the side of a gas station in the middle of nowhere. Kinda skeptical of that but then again some of the best places are sketchy lookin. I couldn't bring myself to give a 4 but I would say it's in the high 3s. They had a $15 Combo plate that came with 3 "Bones" (Ribs I hoped) 3 "Drums" (Chicken I hoped) and a "Pile of Beef" (Brisket I hoped). Had to ask them "is the Pile of Beef Brisket?" and they told me ".... it can be" which didn't ring on a positive vibe with me but obviously they were just trying to say I can get what I want. Ribs pretty good, tiny bit of sauce cooked in, not much meat, great smell, little bit tougher than I like. A little bit of a rub but not much. Seems to me they relied on the sauce too much. I know they at least have a smoker but for some reason to me it tasted like the ribs were cooked in a crock and then grilled a bit. But all in all it was an Okay Rib. Brisket looked like pulled pork but it was chopped brisket, could tell just because of the flavor, the look of it was spot on pulled pork. Moist enough, typical Brisket flavor. Couldn't find any pieces with bark on it though, that may or may not have been a good thing. Drumbsticks, typical, herbal seasoning, smoked definitely. Hard to screw up smoked chicken. I appreciated that they asked if I wanted sauce on the chicken or on the side. I hate it when places put sauce all over anything without asking you. Although kinda weird that they didn't ask about sauce on the ribs or brisket (which they didn't put any sauce on, good) but they do ask about the chicken? And furthermore, the Drumbstick? I don't know. They only had a sweet and spicy sauce, tried me some of the sweet. Sweet was thicker than I like but not molassesy, but a really good tasting sauce! I was enjoying it as it was without anything. Not the best sauce I've ever had, I wouldn't even say it's authentic sauce. I even put some on the brisket, and then you really couldn't tell if it was beef or pork. Beans, red style gravy, green peppers cut up same size as beans. Had a zing of sweetness at first but not super obvious, then a sensational kick on the tongue. Kinda fun tasting! If you ate a lot it would get spicier and spicier but I don't think its meant to be a spicy side dish. Its good but I don't think I could keep eating it. Mac and cheese had like a queso style cheese sauce look to it, little red spices in the sauce. But unfortunately it was nothing special. Whatever the seasoning is inside of it it did nothing. The cheese sauce itself is too powerful and loaded with salts. It's not awful mac and cheese but it's not the good stuff. All in all for a little gas station squatting BBQ truck in the middle of nowhere it's pretty damn good. I don't know how serious anyone should really take this review because chances are decent that their recipes very from time to time. read more

Made a large order for a group of 20. Was a little disappointed overall. We ordered the ribs, pulled pork, brisket and chicken. The ribs were good. A little dryer than I personally like but good. Pulled pork lacked flavor. Chicken was dry and bland. Brisket was good. Max and cheese was good. Coleslaw good. One other thing I didn't like was that I would hope that buns would come with an order of pulled pork, chicken and brisket. We had to go out and buy buns from the local grocery store. Sandusky's only BBQ standout. Yes, yes, its a food truck (technically). This place has the goods tho. Forget the Chain-Q at Cedar Point... this is far better tasting and a way whole lot less money. Recently moved from its perch next to that gas station on route 4, the new parking spot is perfect for what it is. I have not tried all of their sauces yet, but what I have tried has a good balance of flavors. So, the proteins... well I use the brisket at a BBQ joint to determine much about the care and style of a place. They don't offer slices so I got the "pile" of brisket shredded. It is a good piece! Obviously the cut was good and the prep was excellent. Good smoky flavor done just right with a good balance of juice to chew. I yearn for the slice tho so I can get some crunchy crusty, but alas... I like the crust on the ribs and chicken quite a lot. I am not ever looking for fall-off-the-bone ribs. I want pretty-nearly-falling-off-the-bone ribs! I want to be able to pick the thing up by the bone, gesticulate a bit, and still have the meat on. That is what I received here. Gesticulation resistant, well seasoned, delicious, immediately leaving a clean bone when I bite off a hunk. I was, and am, pretty happy/astounded by this. The sides are good overall and frankly there are only so many ways to do them in this universe. The beans have the right color, viscosity, and flavors. The veggies are still snappy despite appearing a little steam-tably. I was not disappointed by them and they complimented the protiens instead of out shining them. Excellent. To get a summary in here: I like this place and the people that run it. Great BBQ food, inexpensive (relatively) , served up by people that love and care about the process and results. My favorite being the baked beans & max n cheese !! There is no comparison at all. I travel and have ate at plentyyy of bbq joints ( im a bbq junkie) and there is again I can't stress it enough - absolutely no comparison. Beyond the food the service is amazing. The couple that owns it are fun loving people who treat you like a friend from your first visit. Haven't had one issue with this establishment at all. The food was amazing! We were looking for something close and convenient off the interstate. There isn't much to offer. We needed gas and the reviews for this place were outstanding! It is definitely a food truck attached to a gas station! I wouldn't normally stop but I'm happy we did! Unfortunately they were out of a few items but the ribs were out of this world. We also had corn, chicken, pulled pork and coleslaw. The place was clean and staff was friendly. Always a great experience. We stop on our way to Kalahari and pile up on the meat so we can keep in our hotel room. The Brats are super but the sauerkraut is really bad so I recommend skipping that aspect. Pulled pork, chicken, ribs are all smoked and have excellent flavor. read more

Delicious world class BBQ at very reasonable prices. The combo comes with 3 chicken legs, 3 ribs, choice of shredded "meat pile" and 2 sides (I recommend the sweet corn when in season). Both sauces (regular and spicy) are amazing and available for purchase. Only problem with my meal is that I couldn't finish it. I couldn't decide whether to continue mowing down with my meat sweats or enter a Thanksgiving-esque food coma. If you are even remotely hungry and passing by on the turnpike, this is a must stop. I don't know how there is only one review. It's small and out of the way but some of the best BBQ I've ever had. I've walked the booths and sampled the ribs at the national BBQ competition and this ranks up there with the best of them.
