This is a great neighborhood bar! I just move from one area…read moreof CDA to one block from here...ive met all the locals and they take care of each other...I couple walked me to my house when I drank too much, and they took me up to my door...thats the kind of bar this is... Great music, lots of booze, and they allow smoking in the bar! Its awesome The bartenders are so friendly and are we are all neighbors...its wonderful to live in this neighborhood... LOVE IT!

I have been a loyal customer at Lakers Inn for years and have always loved the regular staff, which…read moreis the only reason I'm even taking the time to write this. What happened tonight was beyond unacceptable. I brought a group in to celebrate our niece's 21st birthday. The second we walked up to the bar, the bartender--an absolute piss boy--already had a nasty, cocky attitude. He was openly mocking customers while laughing with his little boytoy sitting at the bar, clearly more interested in performing for his friend than doing his job. We politely asked for a pitcher of Hazy. He immediately snapped, "WHICH BEER? Are you literally even using your ears?!" We calmly repeated that we wanted the Hazy. He then yelled, "Yo, are y'all fucking deaf?" We were visibly shocked and confused, still trying to communicate clearly while being verbally abused. He then proceeded to pour the wrong beer. When we said, "Sir, we said the Hazy," he threw a tantrum--dumped the beer out aggressively, threw his hands up, and got visibly angry like a child being corrected. He then screamed, "I SAID HOW MANY GLASSES--CAN'T YOU HEAR?!" The entire time, his boytoy was laughing hysterically, and the bartender kept looking over at him for validation like a middle school kid trying to impress his crush. It was humiliating, uncomfortable, and embarrassing to witness. When he finally asked what else we wanted, we were ordering a Malibu pineapple for our niece. As we quickly double-checked with her, he screamed again, "Hurry the fuck up and tell me what you want." Immediately after, he and his little friend celebrated--laughing, dapping each other up, and acting like being a complete asswipe to paying customers was the highlight of their night. For context, we are bartenders ourselves who work down the street. We are patient, respectful, and extremely generous tippers--especially to industry staff. We don't expect smiles or special treatment, but we do expect basic human decency. What we experienced was vile, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. This piss boy should not be allowed behind a bar, and frankly appeared intoxicated or otherwise unfit to be serving alcohol. One employee single-handedly ruined what should have been a special night and seriously damaged the reputation of a place we've supported for years. Do better.

Everything this guy likes in a friendly-neighborhood bar. It is on a main thoroughfare--and I'm…read moresure most people just keep driving by, because of being in an out-of-favor location; but, we're regular folks, so... It's tiny inside! The low ceilings and short doors surprised me, but when I heard they've been there since 1946, I got it. Really great gals are running the joint, and they will cook you up some nice griddle fare if you have the patience to wait. All patrons in there treated us like regulars, and I have never set foot inside till today, haha. We sat at the bar, and enjoyed the banter and sports on TV. Food was satisfying, hot, and better than you would expect from a lil' joint like this. Perfect place for me and one of my sons to bust a lunch out on a Monday afternoon while shoppin'...

The bartender's attitude is rude and ridiculous. I just flew in, visiting friends, never been here…read more We stop by for a drink and we see these lottery things call pop tabs. We ask if we can buy some cause we don't know what they are exactly but you can win some money. I'm assuming they're like scratchers? I don't know. So we ask, and he rudely says (while throwing his head around in emphasis) "no!" And we thought he was just being sarcastic so we laughed and he stared at us with disgust and I asked if he was kidding to which he replied with more head twirl and raise his eyebrows and said "no. I'm not doing that." I asked why and he says "it's 1-o-clock" I told him "I'm sorry I'm not really sure what that means. We're not from here. I've never been here before." He says " it's 1 o'clock. I'm not doing that." so I'm still confused and his attitude and tone are completely out of line. So I tried to explain to him again nicely, in different words. That I'm not really sure what the time has to do with it because we don't know what these are and we're just curious. He says "we close at two." It was like 1:02 at the time of this conversation. So I don't know, is it a law that we can't do these little ticket things after a certain time? Is it a hassle for him? I have no idea, but he was very rude, lacks proper communication, skills. Another couple that came in to pay their tab, also said that they were tired of his attitude. And a gentleman at around 12:50 asked to order some food and he started throwing out attitude saying "I'm not cooking for you!" The other guy said "you can just say that; you don't have to yell." I don't know when this bar stops serving food but as far as I can see if you request something other than a bag of chips after 12:45 you're not getting it. I went to pay my tab because I needed to excuse myself and I saw notes posted about cash and card prices being different. So I asked him what the difference was if I paid with cash and if I paid with Card. I'm with the same unbecoming attitude and his rubber neck, he replies, "one is more expensive and one is cheaper." Which I don't know if it's a parent to him that I can read the sign posted that states exactly that but I would also like to know what my total is and the varying prices and a little bit greater detail than less than that of the post sign. I finally got my total, paid, and stepped outside while the rest of my group finished their drinks because sitting at the bar, watching him make faces and talking in his disgusting tone was very irritating. There are also signs posted that a glassware is not allowed on the patio but when you step outside, there are at least 10 glass containers. At about 1:30 he completely disappeared. We were literally shouting for him- I stepped slightly behind the bar to call out closer to maybe where he'd be but he was nowhere to be found at all. We shouted for him for a good 12 minutes. No idea where the guy went... at 1:47 he finally popped up out of somewhere and said he heard us but didn't care to come back. I seriously do not know wth this guys deal is. I am actually so upset with this entire encounter. I genuinely have not had a worse experience. While it's not possible for me to be a regular here, if I was local I would absolutely never come back. He missed out on a tip and quite frankly ruined my first night in town.
