What happened tonight was beyond unacceptable. I brought a group in to celebrate our niece's 21st birthday. The second we walked up to the bar, the bartender--an absolute piss boy--already had a nasty, cocky attitude. He was openly mocking customers while laughing with his little boytoy sitting at the bar, clearly more interested in performing for his friend than doing his job. We politely asked for a pitcher of Hazy. He immediately snapped, "WHICH BEER? Are you literally even using your ears?!" We calmly repeated that we wanted the Hazy. He then yelled, "Yo, are y'all fucking deaf?" We were visibly shocked and confused, still trying to communicate clearly while being verbally abused. He then proceeded to pour the wrong beer. When we said, "Sir, we said the Hazy," he threw a tantrum--dumped the beer out aggressively, threw his hands up, and got visibly angry like a child being corrected. He then screamed, "I SAID HOW MANY GLASSES--CAN'T YOU HEAR?!" The entire time, his boytoy was laughing hysterically, and the bartender kept looking over at him for validation like a middle school kid trying to impress his crush. It was humiliating, uncomfortable, and embarrassing to witness. When he finally asked what else we wanted, we were ordering a Malibu pineapple for our niece. As we quickly double-checked with her, he screamed again, "Hurry the fuck up and tell me what you want." Immediately after, he and his little friend celebrated--laughing, dapping each other up, and acting like being a complete asswipe to paying customers was the highlight of their night. For context, we are bartenders ourselves who work down the street. We are patient, respectful, and extremely generous tippers--especially to industry staff. We don't expect smiles or special treatment, but we do expect basic human decency. What we experienced was vile, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. This piss boy should not be allowed behind a bar, and frankly appeared intoxicated or otherwise unfit to be serving alcohol. One employee single-handedly ruined what should have been a special night and seriously damaged the reputation of a place we've supported for years. Do better.

And, walk through them you must to check in as the smoky bar is also where you check in to the hotel, which is located directly above the saloon. We had made a reservation online and I was appreciative that they let us check in a little bit early so we could take a nap before heading off to Silverwood for the afternoon and evening. Our room was very small, featuring a double bed, an open closet area, and a small table with a coffee pot and lamp. I was grateful there was air conditioning - a window unit which worked quickly to cool off the room on a hot day. The bathrooms here are shared, so you have to leave your room to use them - they were clean when we arrived (and looked recently remodeled), but by the next morning were pretty messy after other guests had finished their morning routines. There were no instructions on where to find extra bath towels so we ended up having to share the last remaining clean one. Our room only had one outlet, which was also shared by the lamp and air conditioner, so charging our phones was difficult when we arrived back late that night after experiencing Silverwood. There was also a lot of noise from the saloon below us, but we were tired so fell asleep quickly. Although I did sleep fitfully as I didn't feel this was the safest experience: even late at night, the door to the saloon was open so patrons could easily have come up to the hotel level - and there was only a small doorknob lock on our room. No deadbolt! The White Horse was an experience for sure. The rates were cheap, and the room was clean. But due to the safety factor I'm not sure I would stay here again.
