The service was horrible the lady that was helping me was very rude to start. She was tall and slender with dirty blonde hair. I asked how long the repair would take and she replied 3 days. I replied with ok I might try the next bike shop by name, and they might not be so busy. She said don't go throwing names around or you can leave. Snider's recently worked on my bicycle. They had the parts needed and fixed my bike the next day. They had two styles of tubes for my bike, a very thick one and a standard thickness one. The employee showed me both options and informed me of pricing. Next day I picked up my bicycle mid day the next day and it is riding perfectly again. Value? Well, it was OK I guess but they did charge me a $20 premium because "it is an electric bike". Makes no difference when replacing a tube on the front tire, just a BS surcharge. My tire tube and wheel on the front are the same as any other generic bicycle that comes thru the shop that has no electric assist. They charge extra because they can, I guess. read more

They worked on a 15 year old Trike for me that had been sitting in storage for about 3 years. The tubes & tires were bad and they didn't have them in stock. The only bad thing with Snider's is that they do/will nickel & dime you for anything/everything they can. Customer service is gone. Charged just to find new tires & tubes or if it was less to order rims. If they were so hard to locate, why did they have the trike finished in 1 1/2 days? Especially since they had to be ordered. Snider's was recommended only because the other bike shop I called 1st couldn't obtain the parts at all. read more

I brought my bike that had been sitting in the garage for several years. Luckily the tires were still good and they were able to tune it up and get it going, roughly a week later (with no previous riding) my front tire was flat. I aired it up and it still went flat. I have a big trip out of town tomorrow and need my bike, I brought it in near closing and they heard my store and took care of me to get it done same day! Awesome service and good people!! read more

Honestly I had a not so good experience with Sniders about a year ago. I was going through some stuff with my Dad which I still am. I wasn't happy with them but recently I bought a new ebike from another vendor out of town and needed some help with the new bike. I stopped in and Steve was great!! I got a few things on that visit, then returned with the bike for some fine tuning. Olivia was there and she actually remembered me from the time a year prior. She was very apologetic and also asked about my Dad. She was very sincere and I appreciated her time and how she thanked me for giving them another chance. Poor service. Took my mountain bike in for a tune up because certain gears weren't grabbing and the chain was hitting the derailleur making a noise took it for a ride and within a few minutes of the ride the chain started hitting the derailleur again. Have dealt with Sniders for over 30 years and today found they denied their own product (to deny their lifetime warranty) checking their own serial number and the utter LIE ( Juan S. Flores) he disclosed stating "That was our old system but we now have a new system " so their old merchandise is obsolete. I won two bikes on a game show, sniders were the chosen ones to build my bikes! My bikes were built in three weeks, only because covid19 restrictions were taken into effect. This caused an overwhelming influx of repair orders from the community bringing thier bikes in so they can exercise, due to the stay at home order. I didnt mind waiting as long as they were put together correctly. I got the phone call that they were ready, I drove from the other side of town to find out that only one was ready, and the other was not working properly. The manager was sympathetic, and was very accommodating. She said the bike will be ready in a few days and offered to deliver free if charge. The next day I received a call that it was ready and she delivered the bike that night! I was very satisfied! it's been about a month now since I had the bikes and haven't had one issue. they both are operating great and taken out a few days a week for about a 10 mile ride. This bicycle shop isn't worth going to their lifetime tuneup is a bogus line I recently pick my bike up after leaving it a week at this location and the bicycle is in worse condition than i took it to the place their guarantee of their lifetime tuneups are bogus that is true sad to say bike was used when it was bought supposed to be aNew bicycle when buying which turned out to be a used one so this location don't even deserve a not good rating so if anything (( (they trying to charge me $200 just to fix the back tire)))!They could've at least adjusted the situation that was wrong with the bicycle while the reason it was taking their in the first place so much for their guarantee tuneups I'm not trying to bring the store down any but they should listen to what they say they're going to read more

*Sigh* It always frustrates me when I end up giving a local institution a lackluster review. I really try to give places like this the benefit of the doubt, especially when I am usually so adamant about shopping local and supporting local businesses. I understand items may not always be in stock and ordering could take time. Patience is a virtue, and in Snider's case, I might actually need to be inducted into Sainthood. It all started in the end of May when I decided that for my birthday (July 30th, to be exact) I wanted a pink Schwinn beach cruisers. I was very specific on my choice. I knew exactly the model, the color, and I even knew the price. I went in, along with Kevin P. and decided right then and there I would purchase it if it were in stock. They do actually have a fairly large inventory, this however was not among them. We were quickly approached by a younger girl and questioned (a few times) if we needed any assistance. I told her the exact bike I was looking for and she said to wait a minute so she could locate a 2011 Schwinn catalog. As we waited we were approached by two additional employees, at this point you could tell they were commissioned. Friendly yet aggressive and persistent. It was pretty obvious. She returns a few minutes later with the catalog. While looking through she became insistent that the one I wanted was something other than the model I knew I want. After a few minutes of debate, I turned a few pages and showed her the EXACT bike I had seen prior. She said that ordering it could be a problem since they were 2011 models....but it was 2011. I thought it was a bit odd they wouldn't be able to order something that was available both online and in a current catalog. After a few back and forths (her to the back to ask questions) and then back to me to confirm, we decided to order the bike anyways. I had plans to be out of town for a few weeks so I wouldn't need it until later in June anyways. After asking her a few times about the delivery time, she insisted it wouldn't take any more than a week, 10 days tops, to get it in. Perfect! $400+ later, the bike was ordered and we headed home. 10 days went by. I called, a gentleman answered. I explained my order and his response was, "Oh, ____ helped you? She always tells customers that. It'll be at least 2 weeks." Perturbed, I went on my vacation and put it on the backburner. Nearly a month later, I returned and still no bike. Kevin P. had called while I was away and apparently, no bike had even been ordered. Even after my call at 10 days. Eventually, we got the bike. But it was quite simply, a long and drawn-out ordeal. I would like to think it was just this girl (and gosh darn-it I wish I remembered her name) and not Snider's in general. Oh and to make matters worse, there was apparently some kind of bike kit that all buyers get that we did not receive. This was told to us only after Kevin P. bought his own bike (which, thankfully was on display). The only thing that saves this store from getting any lower rating is their longevity in the Bakersfield area. Obviously, they are doing something right. And for their sake, I hope my experience was just a fluke. read more

Using their locksmith service? Save yourself the time and just go ahead and insult yourself, rip up the cash in your wallet and then go to a big brand home improvement store for better service. Just awful. p.s. If they tell you that you need a "blue key" after charging your $14 to re-key a door lock, tell them to go f-themselves. Awful. read more

My husband brought in his bike for a tune up and our first impression of the business was upfront and friendly. We were originally quoted $65 for the tune up, but we were informed that they had to do a few extra repairs besides the tune up which would bring the cost to $105. It is understandable that our bike may have needed additional work, but we were not informed of or authorized those repairs until they were already done. When we went to pick up the bike, we were then informed it would be $135 for us to get my husbands bike back. No reasons were provided for the third price change which did not justify why numbers kept changing due to repairs we never authorized. It is disappointing to say the least how this experience went. We feel like we were lied to, and put in a position with no choice but to pay or not get our bike back. I hope this feedback is taken into account for any future business they may have but we will not be returning. read more

Bought my son a purple Haro for his birthday a $500.00 dollar bike. Since the first day he has gotten it it has had problems. Yes we got free service on it for life. We'll it is not a wonder we take it in often for the same crank arm and chain problem. They keep it for a week. Get it back he rides it maybe two times and the same problem. We are not rich. So I figured getting him a bike at a reputable establishment would be better so I will save and pay the amount for descent service and better quality of bike. I am extremely disappointed and very frustrated. This bike was to give my son a healtthy alternative like bike riding and a. Alternative from turning to the streets. Unfortunately the bike is always braking down. Leaving him a week at a time with nothing to occupy his time after his school work is completed. This is just terrible. Ghetto and crooked. Watch out for them trying to overcharge you or make you buy parts you don't need. I came in to buy a new tube for my bike tire. The tube was priced at about $10, and the heavyset Mexican guy told me he would assemble it for no extra charge. He ended up doing a bunch of BS to my bike that I didn't ask him to do, and then told me that I owed him $50. He didn't even tell me that he was going to do extra stuff, he just said he was assembling one tube for $10. read more
