I left absolutely blown away with the exceptional customer service I received - something that has become a true rarity in 2026! Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a debilitating nervous system condition that has completely changed how I engage in fitness. But being the stubborn "gym rat" that I am, I have refused to give up lifting and sprinting. My condition has caused major changes in my gait, proprioception, and running mechanics, which have been causing me a lot of silly injuries. This actually has nothing to do with Sneakerama's shoes but the owner & his wife are lovely people who actually let us borrow their Tiffany Blue 1955 Chevy to transport us to our wedding reception and it was so epic, everyone loved the truck and Steve was so flexible and easy going about the whole thing. If we went through a company we know it would have been a lot harder and more rules and we probably wouldn't have been able to drive it ourselves. I am not one to complain about customer service, more often seeking to promote businesses and staff that provide great service and value. Notwithstanding, I felt compelled to share a recent experience at Sneakerama in Worcester. My wife and I have been repeat customers for running shoes and have always had positive experiences. We visited the store in mid-September as we both needed new running gear. Our experience started off great with prompt service for both of us. We both landed on pairs of Hokas. When we were checking out, we noticed that one of the Hokas had a small, but noticeable cosmetic defect. The manager was kind enough to offer a $15 discount but at a $165 price tag, we thought it best to get another pair. There was only one in the store in the correct size so we asked if another pair could be ordered. The staff was able to accommodate the request by placing an order for us. We paid for both pairs of shoes and left fully satisfied. The store called to let us know the ordered pair had arrived so this afternoon we went to pick them up. After exiting the store, we opened them up only to find that one of the Hokas also had a small, but noticeable cosmetic defect. We went back in the store as we believed that the first pair had an issue with the right shoe and this pair had an issue with the left. We figured that maybe an easy solution would be to switch out the two as they were the exact same size, model, color etc. Unfortunately, our suggestion to address the concern was met with some defensive resistance with the only reason provided being that they had previously offered a $15 discount and had special ordered the new pair. With no other option provided to us, we left the store with the pair of shoes feeling somewhat shocked and disappointed. After letting the overall scenario sink in, we really started to feel that the store was more concerned about the sale than they were about our satisfaction with the product. After thinking about the issue further, we decided to return both pairs of shoes for a refund and will try again with a different retailer. Our suggested remedy was an easy fix and would have allowed us to be fully satisfied and them to focus their attention on what seems to be a larger problem with Hoka and their quality control issues. read more

Just wanted to shout out the staff at Sneakerama! I was in last Friday to get a new pair of cross trainers. It was a very busy afternoon and the staff was hustling. Despite being very busy, the young sales associate did not rush me and had me try on 5 different pairs of sneaks to make sure I was choosing the best one for me. They were very knowledgeable about what shoe to suggest based on my needs. There were a couple of more mature customers with arthritic needs and they were very patient with them, so great to see. Went into Sneakerama with my mom and we were both looking for two different types of sneakers. Immediately we each had wonderful sales associates who helped us get fitted and gave us recommendations (only reason why this is even getting two stars). The poor experience really started when I saw an authority figure (guessing it was the owner) begin to treat his employees poorly right in front of the customer (me). When my mom didn't like a specific type of shoe because of its level of cushion, the owner immediately quizzed the employee asking them which other shoe they would recommend. After continuing to tell the employee to "think, think, think", the employee was visibly uncomfortable and felt as if they were under pressure. When my mom and I were on the fence about buying our shoes, the owner emphasized how their prices are the best in "all of Massachusetts" but when I informed him that I found the same pair for the same price on Amazon, he started to become more defensive stating that the company does more philanthropic work for the community (he even asked if I cared about my community). I think community service is great and it's awesome that the company gets involved with it but I didn't like (and made me uncomfortable) how this was a business tactic used to try and persuade me (or even guilt trip me) into buying the shoes. The combination of these two scenarios doesn't even include everything that happened but thought they were the most important to highlight. Used to come here for my sneakers, never will come back again. UPDATE: in response to the owner's reply, I would like to clarify and say that the owner originally discounted ONE pair of sneakers for $20 and later said we had to buy TWO pairs of sneakers to receive a $15 discount which is why we were upset. Because of the original offer, we asked for $30 off (not $50) for both pairs of sneakers. I won't go into other aspects of his reply but I would appreciate complete honestly and transparency for the sake of future potential customers. read more

our sales person, a young man, was actually quite rude to us, I dont like to write negative reviews and this is my first time writing with a complaint. .. but truly this young man was repeatedly rude to us. (I myself have many years experience in retail and several years selling shoes so I do have sensitivity to this type of service). I was there with my daughter (college student) and we arrived at 5:15 because of traffic (we aimed for 5) and the store closes at 6 so we werent being unkind with our timing. (and we were out of there by 5:50). the products are quite expensive and not something i would buy without making sure we got what we really wanted. this sales person treated us as if we were in the way and then when they didnt have any of the colors in the styles and sizes that were our first choice he was rude and interfering with my discussions with my daughter as if we needed him to intercede and he was quite rude to me. we ended up with the style we wanted but a color that was not our first choice and he kept insisting that my daughter really wanted the color he had in stock... I felt it important to make sure my daughter really was ok with that because we Could order ourselves online if it wasnt ... he was very condescending to me and i know my daughter a whole lot better than him And I was paying the $145 for them! really I am a thoughtful parent and do not need his type of negativity so the experience was not great .... but we got good quality sneakers .... read more

Wow. Some interesting reviews on here. What I can tell you is I went because I found myself unable to jog without pain in my feet and shins. Young man with glasses (wish I got his name), checked my gait and suggested 3 different options. While I didn't particularly like the color of the shoes (only color available in my size), I went with a pair of Hokas. Well, first time out I was able to jog pain free and while I am no "runner" yet, I shaved 10 minutes off my standard 3 mile time. I was pleased with the price of the shoes, it was as expected based on prior online search (FYI, looking up prices on-line while IN an establishment is RUDE to say the least) I am grateful for what I found to be excellent customer service. I was in town visiting my family & I wanted to take advantage of Massachusetts tax (or lack of -- I live in LA & they tax the crap out of clothes/shoes/kittens/air/atmosphere/etc). I needed a pair of shoes that would match my choice in women; sexy & low-maintenance (emotionally & physically -- but that's a whole other story). So I busted through that door like Kanye would if Taylor Swift was on stage & was immediately serviced by a young lady. She asked what I liked. I said "Nikes" cause that's the cool kids rock. Unlike my first girlfriend, she was honest. She stated her reasons for not choosing Nikes (for running at least): price, value, durability and none of the shoes had the support for my style of walking/running (She had me strut around like Kate Moss on the runway). She presented me with 3x pairs of shoes that fit my style and let me make the decision. I opted for Brooks because it felt the best. I told her I didn't like the look of it so she presented a magazine with colors in the same style & even offered to ship it to my house (which I'll see if I can take advantage of it being in CA, hehe). Very, very cool sneaker store. Old school family run business where they go out of their way to help you in any which way they can. Special order? they got it. Want different color laces? no problem. Want certain colors to match your uniform? They'll get it for you. Their sneaker selection is handpicked and some what limited but the customization and personal touch is unmatched by any huge chain store you could go to. Put it this way ... I used to play sports in High School and college and would always go there and tell them I wanted to get a "team discount" for new sneaks to go with my uniform. My boss and Sneakerama have had a very close relationship for years due to his son being a track star and also he's an avid runner. I myself usually go for the cheaper sneaker as #1 I'm not a runner nor will I ever be and #2 I change sneakers like I change my pocket book. So getting expensive high quality sneakers was never something high on my priority list. Until my mom needed sneakers... It's the only place she'll go to for sneakers because they fit her for her needs. I took her down and she pretty much acted like she was the Queen of the store. She sat down and they brought the sneakers to her! I never thought you could get this kind of service any longer!! They took off her old one, put the new one on and actually tied them...huh?? Is this something foreign?? I was speechless and that's very hard to do with me! She walked around in them and announced that these were perfect and she will wear them out of the store. Because I worked for a long time customer (boss, remember?) they gave me a percentage off...again huh??? you don't get this at a chain store. I again, hard as it may seem...was speechless. The store is bright and attractive. On one side is men's sneakers with different casual shoes and sandals for variety. On the other is women's sneakers along with the casual shoes. I am pretty picky when it comes to comfortable shoes. The staff at Sneakerama is fantastic. The person that helped me took time to measure my feet, standard right? Except he also analyzed my arches, looked at the way I walked, noticed the roll of my feet and balance in the shoes I had on which were awful. He pulled out several pairs of sneakers and described what he'd noticed and how those shoes would help. I tried a few pairs on and was getting disappointed, they were nice but not amazing - until we got to the last two pairs. The last pair I tried on were amazing - and they were on sale. My family and I stopped in to buy new sneakers. My daughter bought a great pair of Nike's and I bought a pair of Mizuno running sneakers. Our sales girl was great. I would prefer supporting local business vs the large chain sporting good stores. Unfortunately, I saw the same sneakers at Marshalls for 20.00 less (today) and TJ Maxx Sunday than what I paid for the Mizuno's at Sneakerama. Do your homework. When I contacted Sneakerama, Brianna was kind enough to to reply and suggested the price differential could be that the products Marshall's sold are not always authentic. I tend to doubt it. Went to Sneakerama in Worcester MA the afternoon of Saturday, January 14, 2017. Was told by friends that they really catered to special needs and really know how to fit shoes properly. I was greeted at the door by Steve. He proclaimed 30 years of experience. He notices I supinate which was a good sign he knows his stuff. I do supinate. He recommended shoes while insisting I do not have very wide feet. I DO have super wide feet. Steve has a young sidekick he insisted should not wait on us. A very nice young man but Steve indicated his experience was necessary to fit me. Steve excused himself for a small task. He never returned and was seen working with another customer. So.......I was being shown shoes by an inexperienced person. Where was the great service? Gone!!!!! Tried on Saucony Triumph iso 3 in 10 2E. Too narrow. Wide feet dude!! Wide feet! Tried on same shoe iso 2, older model. Same size. They were wider. Soiled shoes, scuffed soles. $20.00 discount to $120.00. Moved to New Balance at my insistence. Remember the kid knows very little about shoes. Tried on NB 928 v2, they fit, but they did not have black. I did not want brown of white.. Still no Steve. Where is all this knowledgeable service. Told the young man no sale but offered $80.00 for the used Saucony Triumphs iso 2. Guess who had to be the decision maker: Steve!! He ignored us, did not serve us as promised and now he is offended at my offer. Oh no he says, these are already discounted. He immediately inferred I was looking for cheaper shoes.
