About a week ago I got my eyebrows microbladed by Nazanin and let me tell you... This has changed my life. I have always been self-conscious of how sparse my eyebrows are and would fill them in even when I wasn't wearing any makeup otherwise. I never liked the appearance of filled in brows, either... They looked too fake and never blended the way I wanted. Not to mention it was the longest segment of my makeup routine, trying to get them even for god knows how long before giving up and telling myself day after day that eyebrows are meant to be sisters, not twins.
Enter Nazanin! I was feeling a bit nervous before the procedure, simply because microblading IS permanent and eyebrows can make or break the overall appearance of your face. The moment I stepped into her office, my nerves had completely gone away. I felt like we were instantly friends; she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and after seeing her portfolio, I knew I could trust her to fix one of my greatest insecurities.
The procedure itself did not take as long as I had expected, either. She put some numbing cream on my eyebrows while we chatted and then wiped it off and sketched out the blueprints of my new babies. Once all of the angles were finalized, it was time...
Having a few tattoos, I was not sure what to expect for the pain of one on my face. Regardless, I went in with a "beauty is pain" mentality and sucked it up. The first round of strokes were definitely the worst, but it only felt like a light cat scratch. There is a numbing agent in the pigment that soaks into the microscopic cuts, so after the initial hairs were drawn it was smooth sailing. I found myself giggling during the second coat because I could hear the sound of the blade but could feel absolutely nothing at all.
After about an hour of meticulous hairlike strokes, VOILA! I was given a mirror to take a gander at my new look and I was in awe. After twenty years of having weak brow game I finally had full yet extremely natural looking brows. I cannot tell you what a relieving feeling it is to know that I will wake up every morning with perfect brows, to not have to worry about my eyebrows washing away in the ocean or pool, and to be able to cut out a significant amount of time from my makeup routine (when sleeping is one of your favorite hobbies, it is a must!).
Now, for the healing process. I am not completely healed and will have to go in for a touch up in about three weeks (they usually recommend that you get them touched up within 4-6 weeks), but I am currently on day nine and everything is going swimmingly. I will break down what to expect on each day for what I have experienced thus far:
Day One: Eyebrows were a bit raw and irritated, but nothing distracting. They were very dark but Nazanin told me that the first few days they would be the darkest, and I can now tell you this is 100% true. The strokes will also appear the most crisp on the first day.
Days Two-Four: Eyebrows still a bit dark, itching/scabbing is minimal.
Days Five-Seven: Eyebrows lightening up, scabbing beginning to occur. Itching was probably at its peak during these days.
Days Eight & Nine: Eyebrows look extremely natural and itching has lessened significantly.
All in all, I had an amazing experience visiting Nazanin. This is something I do not regret whatsoever and I am beyond pleased with the outcome. I am no longer insecure about the appearance of my eyebrows and that is an absolutely priceless feeling. Thank you so much Nazanin for your amazing work, this is probably something I will continue to do for many years to come! read more
