Nice, greasy, old fashioned burger joint. You pull up to the drive through and order, oh I don't know, a bacon double cheeseburger or something (yum!). Then you pay at the window and get your food. And that's all there is to it. This is a cool place architecturally, but please note that there's no seating....drive through only. And although greasy, their food is so much better quality than McDonalds or Burger King....seemed fresher, with better ingredients, and there was more of it. Win, win. read more

Rochester native, grew up on Snappy Stop. Recently was in town for the first time in ten years and had to see if it lived up to my memories. Absolutely! The burgers are great for a fast-food joint, definitely well above any of the chains. Fries are a good version of frozen fries - little pieces of skin still on them, salted properly, etc. We LOVE Kathy's Homemade ice cream sandwiches, and this is one of the few places selling them. Price on the ice cream sandwiches has definitely gone up over the years, but burgers and fries are still pretty dirt cheap! Will definitely be back next time we're in town. I had snappy stop several years ago and was not a big fan that day and I am happy to say i gave them another chance because it was a great burger at an awesome value. They were having a special three burgers for five dollars. I had three hungry people in the car so this was perfect for us. I added cheese...the burger will come how you want it. i of course just had lettuce, tomato, onion. It was filling and like burger made by mom. They are not greasy in any way shape or form. First time I have ever rated a place without eating there. We had just eaten somewhere else before finding this gem. The building is about the size of a Mexican border patrol shack on the U.S. border. Cars were lined up on each side of the hut to order the apparently good burgers. This is a neat little burger stand inside a HUGE, odd looking building. It looks like a Fotomat building on steroids. Pull up, and you can get some fresh made burgers with one, two, or three patties, lettuce, onion, tomato, and the option to add bacon or chili. We stopped in on a Sunday, and they were offering three burgers for $5, not a bad deal at all. We also grabbed a large fry to split, and that seemed to be made fresh as well. We did take advantage of the check in deal for a free cup of ice cream (HUGE, and not bad at all!), and grabbed one of the ice cream sandwhiches as well, which was the star of the night. Was on vacation with my folks. We were looking for some fast food and wanted to try something new so we stopped here after reading reviews and seeing it had a 4.5 star rating. Our burgers were very subpar and not flavorful at all. They might have the smallest menu I have ever seen with very limited options that didn't seem all that appealing. I guess next time we're not stopping here again. Maybe I may have missed something in the menu but the quality was quite generic. Arbys and Wendys has better quality. Finally made it to Snappy Stop is nothing more than a stop. The place is so small that two cars would fill up the side of the building.I had gone here after being told from a co-worker. Drove extra hour of crazy music with 3 guys lol..So we came right before the scariest day of the year (Halloween) so we started our meal with some Spooky burgers (only available during this time of year). They are not like California burgers, the place is Drive True ONLY...You want to make sure you order there fry's they are really good and California style. The burgers are good, but not great. One thing you should know is that they bungs are room temp so they don't warm them up or anything. The shakes are pre made gas station shakes so nothing special there as well. If I am in town I won't mind coming back but not worth for an hour drive to try them out. read more

there's no way a burger from a small little drive thtu like this should be as good as it is. the veggies were really fresh, like, really good! made the whole experience way better. good portions on the toppings too. not overpowering. the patty tasted good, i know a frozen patty when i taste one, but it's a good one. the thing that let it down was the fries, they were not crisped at all and pretty greasy. other than that, this is a really great quick stop. really good ingredients, nice staff, good prices, fairly easy to get in an out of. doesn't make me feel like i wish i went somewhere else, like i do at say a McDonalds or a Burger King. although it's fast food, this is miles ahead. read more

I'm from out of town and came in for a visit to Rochester's #1 attraction, Mayo Clinic, but that's another subject. This drive through joint has awesome burgers for a great price. I had heard some not so nice reviews of this place so when I tried it for the first time I was honestly shocked. These burgers taste so good that they haunt my dreams. They are juicy, and so so flavorful. The veggies taste like they are fresh from the farmer's market. And they are very reasonably priced! The only con I have about Snappy Stop, is that their shakes are actually F'real shakes (the ones you get at KT). I would have loved to see what they could do with handmade shakes, but overall I would still recommend this place to anyone and everyone. read more

Friendly drive thru service. We were thoroughly impressed with our experience. Our only complaint is the construction and difficulty finding the entrance and the other is that the small fires are enough to feed two people and then some. All three employees were smiling while working hard and food prep had gloves on. What a pleasant experience! We will be back for more. Very nice and friendly service! My father took me here when I was a child, often. I go here every time I'm in Rochester! Today my girlfriend and I had an appointment at St. Mary's and it was the first time she had been there. She loved the fries! SNAPPY STOP! This was the first place I went upon arriving in Rochester. Their burgers are neat, square, flat patties that come with loads of toppings for free. I would much rather stop back at Snappy Stop than all of the local fast food joints for a decent, fairly priced meal. Their staff is also very kind and patient, as I had no idea what to order when I first arrived.
