We stopped for a quick lunch. The shrimp basket was fantastic with local shrimp and the fried pickles were excellent. We had two margaritas, which were also good plus a CORONA beer would recommend this place. Good place to stop and have a quick drink and a meal. In the summer, it may be hot but right now the weather is fantastic just the right temperature. This was a place that had a hard restaurant at what time which was burnt down by a fire and now it's a tent with a bar we recommend supporting them good place.

The food here was amazing! The fries were delicious, the blackened Mai fish dinner was good and the chicken strips were awesome!! The service was great, she was very kind and helpful. We liked that the restaurant had outdoor seating but the bugs were a little out of hand for us

Small roadside seafood joint that was perfect after a hot night camping on Matagorda Island. We sat next to a huge fan to cool us off from the hot August day drinking a Twisted Tea and Snapper sandwich blackened. The waitress was really great and even gave my friend's son a homemade cupcake when we left that could compare to the best made ones of the city. Enjoyed the atmosphere of this outside seafood place and the food was fresh and well made.

Grilled chicken wrap. Big as shit.

9/21 Saturday. Had a bunch of good food - steak fingers and chicken fried steak sandwich. The wrap is actually so big could only eat half.

The turn in to the restaurant, now temporary food truck with outdoor seating.

Really good food. Boudin balls were DELICIOUS! Fried pickles were yum too! It was cold and they rolled a heater to us.

Relaxing to relax! This place is a so low, slow and ALL TEXAS! Love it!…read more Go grab a flight and some BBQ, pull up a chair enjoy some live music and ask yourself why you haven't visited sooner. This place is GREAT! The beer is GREAT! Service spectacular!

I met some friends who live in Victoria and Goliad, Texas for lunch here last weekend. We were…read morelucky to get some chairs under a tree and could hear the music from a bit further away. It was a nice, hot, muggy day! We enjoyed the BBQ, the beer, and the cocktails. I don't drink beer (but if I did I'm sure it would be Shiner beer) so I was glad to see they had a distillery with pretty much a full bar. Three of us took the tour, which was fascinating! The AC was not working well in some parts of the building that day so part of the tour, we were sweating quite a bit during parts of it because it was a hot day. The BBQ (lean brisket and sausage) was good but their sauce was a bit watery/bland. I believe the spirits were also made by the same people but I haven't seen that brand in other stores before. I had a paloma (they don't have grapefruit soda so it was just made with ruby red grapefruit juice and vodka with some soda water) and a spicy margarita. Both were good but tasted different than a typical vodka or tequila drink to me. The friends I went with have gone there several times and said the drinks/cocktails seemed watered down this time didn't taste the same as they usually do so we wondered if they had changed their spirits or the measurements. I guess I'll have to go back again some day and see if they've gone back to their usual drink recipes!

Visiting from Austin for the week, this was the only restaurant we ate at in Matagorda…read more Service: seated quick and our server was attentive, though not particularly friendly. Ambience: minimal lighting, tables grouped closely together. Food: absolutely horrendous and egregiously priced. Most menu items come with a salad. Here's their salad stacking system: they place about a dozen filled salad plates on the counter. Then the servers stack the plates, where the bottom of each plate squishes down on each salad directly below it, and then they distribute to the tables. I unfortunately had already eaten my three salvageable bites of wilted dirty-counter salad before I saw this. So gross. Complimentary bread was just basic warmed dinner rolls with those little airplane butter packets in a basket on the table. You pay for more bread if you want it. We ordered the $21.95 crab rolls, the $13.95 gumbo, and a $6.00 baked potato. The crab rolls, we expected crab on rolls (bread). They were actually deep-fried crab... dumplings?... where the fried breading on the outside was also present and undercooked on the inside. The strangest thing we've ordered in a long time, and I acknowledge we could've asked about it first, but again... we thought we knew what a crab roll was. The gumbo was a mess of soggy sad veggies (mostly celery) and what looked like minute rice. There were minimal chunks of what could've been shrimp? If Campbells soup made a gumbo in a can, it would taste exactly like what I was served. I thought it was a safe order, I was wrong. The dry baked potato came with those nuclear red fake-bacon bits on the side, sour cream and shredded cheese. No green onions, no butter to spruce it up at all. I thought a $6 baked potato would have more pizazz. Our favorite thing was the fries that came with the abomination that was the crab rolls. They were crispy. Who don't like crispy fries? So anyway, I highly recommend not ordering anything we tried if you want to have a better experience here. We ourselves will not be back, ever.
