Seafood is always fresh and of good quality. Fresh caught is a real thing here! Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop in.

Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston is an amazing place if you want truly fresh Gulf seafood. You…read morecan literally see the fishing boats coming in with the daily catch, which makes the whole experience feel authentic and local. The seafood is incredibly fresh--shrimp, fish, and everything else tastes like it just came straight from the ocean. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help you pick the best options. The market is clean, well organized, and the quality is outstanding. If you're in Galveston and love seafood, this place is a must-visit. It's one of the best spots on the island to experience real, fresh Gulf seafood!

I am thrilled to have stumbled upon this cozy locally owned seafood market. The staff at the front…read moreof the store is incredibly helpful and friendly. We got to witness the workers in the back bring in fresh Red Snappers directly from the boat into the store. It feels good knowing we are buying and supporting local. I'm already planning to become a regular despite the 90 minute drive. I bought three types of fish, two of each: Red Snapper, Striped Bass, and Flounder. I requested that they filet the Red Snappers, while the other four were left to be just cleaned (scaled, cut, and rinsed). It was well packaged. They even put ice in the bag for my long trip back. Excellent, excellent, excellent service. Next time a long with fresh fish, I will get blue crab and shrimp. Note: They are right around the corner from Katie's Seafood House.

Seems like a neat place, we must have just come at the wrong time of year. Sunny outside, but air…read morewas chilly and a bit windy. Our greeting when we came in was not the most friendly, woman behind the bar didn't even smile and mumbled something that I assume was our greeting. Our server, though nice, seemed very new and inexperienced. But she seemed to be nervously trying to do a good jobl My drink order never was what I ordered. I think there was confusion with the server and woman behind the bar. Our server didn't seem old enough to serve it to me, it was broght over by bar tender. It was pricey for not ever really getting what I requested. The day we were there, they had one of the garage doors open and the front door as well. It was so cold in there, we almost left to go elsewhere as I suspected the food would be cold before it got to the table to be eaten. After our 2nd request, they finally closed the one garage door,, but was still a bit chilly. Then they told us they just put the heater on. (the heater helped but have entry door open to bring food in from food trailer) We didn't realize the food was made in an outside trailer and walked inside. I got the crawfish tail ? Ettofee baked potato ? Ettofee sp?. Although The potato was well baked, and the sauce was Very good, there was only 4 or 5 very small crawfish tails on it. I ended up taking it home with me as it just wouldn't stay warm enough for me to eat more of it. I wish they would of had some type of thermal box, or cover to bring the food in from the outside trailer to the table... My husband had a mushroom swiss burger which was good, and some really delicious flat shaped fries, but again, keeping our food warm enough to eat it was not the best situation. There were some really good looking things on the menu, but it was just too cold in there that day. During nice weather, I'm sure our experience would have been much better, as it seems like a really nice place with a very nice patio with great view.

Their patio and views were amazing and so relaxing. The cutest restaurant indoor/outdoor. We also had our dog which they accommodated with some water. She also made friends with the sweet manager Erin (i think! Hopefully we got it right). Food was good and vibes were better. Will definitely be stopping by next time we are going to or coming from Galveston.

Visiting from Austin for the week, this was the only restaurant we ate at in Matagorda…read more Service: seated quick and our server was attentive, though not particularly friendly. Ambience: minimal lighting, tables grouped closely together. Food: absolutely horrendous and egregiously priced. Most menu items come with a salad. Here's their salad stacking system: they place about a dozen filled salad plates on the counter. Then the servers stack the plates, where the bottom of each plate squishes down on each salad directly below it, and then they distribute to the tables. I unfortunately had already eaten my three salvageable bites of wilted dirty-counter salad before I saw this. So gross. Complimentary bread was just basic warmed dinner rolls with those little airplane butter packets in a basket on the table. You pay for more bread if you want it. We ordered the $21.95 crab rolls, the $13.95 gumbo, and a $6.00 baked potato. The crab rolls, we expected crab on rolls (bread). They were actually deep-fried crab... dumplings?... where the fried breading on the outside was also present and undercooked on the inside. The strangest thing we've ordered in a long time, and I acknowledge we could've asked about it first, but again... we thought we knew what a crab roll was. The gumbo was a mess of soggy sad veggies (mostly celery) and what looked like minute rice. There were minimal chunks of what could've been shrimp? If Campbells soup made a gumbo in a can, it would taste exactly like what I was served. I thought it was a safe order, I was wrong. The dry baked potato came with those nuclear red fake-bacon bits on the side, sour cream and shredded cheese. No green onions, no butter to spruce it up at all. I thought a $6 baked potato would have more pizazz. Our favorite thing was the fries that came with the abomination that was the crab rolls. They were crispy. Who don't like crispy fries? So anyway, I highly recommend not ordering anything we tried if you want to have a better experience here. We ourselves will not be back, ever.
