Home cooking, just like my mom made! The yeast rolls were delicious. But...I had Thanksgiving in July (on Sunday, ck menu) & it was soooo tasty, the turkey was fork-tender, the cornbread dressing was "ON POINT", green beans-delish! Zero complaints from this TX girl. Quaint, historic, & cooked with love & care. Have Cash, they are a cash only establishment. read more

I've been coming here my entire life. It's the best example of good old fashioned home cooking for 100 miles. It's an institution for the area with amazing food and service. The building takes you back in time because nothing has changed granting an ambiance that has to be seen in person. Please donate to help save this treasure! read more

Very reasonably priced and excellent food I love that home style old American cooking thank you again

I love this place! Try the butter beans for sure! Delicious! Wanting to try the meatloaf, haven't made it there yet for it!

Fried Chicken and Cole Slaw are the best. Great country food and very clean restaurant and bathrooms.

I love the food at Blessing Hotel. It's all home cooked food and different days has different food on their help your self and yes you can go back for seconds, too, meal of the day of the week. Service is always friendly and helpful. It's quaint, old time atmosphere makes you feel back home with your great grandparents kitchen. You sit at large tables with plenty of room for everyone. The Blessing Hotel Restaurant was a nice experience. Like going back in time, wayyy back. The food was delicious, like being in a farmhouse kitchen, farmhouse cooking. A nice variety. Check the daily menu first because what's on the food counter is what you'll get. read more

They are open for breakfast and lunch only. It is $14 for all you can eat homemade food and it is absolutely great. I met my dad there for lunch on Thursday which was fried chicken day with all the trimmings. The fried chicken was great and was accompanied by mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls and peach cobbler. There were many other vegetables and even a salad bar. I ate so much I didn't even eat supper that evening. I will definitely be coming back this place was wonderful. The hotel is extremely old and has been there since the horse and buggy days. The original front desk and check in are still used just like in the old west movies. Anyone coming through has got to stop and check this place out. I would even make a trip to come eat and stay here. read more

Awesome, fun, old-timey place if you like Southern country food! Historic hotel with some "historic" old-timers cookin' up the good stuff. Worth a swerve out of your way, on the way somewhere else. read more

This restaurant is where it's at. I've been coming here for about 35 years now and it's still some of the best home cooking you can get in the US. My parents still drive from Houston about 1.5 hrs away just to eat here and now I make the short drive too. They're only open for breakfast and then lunch for a few hours a day, that's when you want to come and sample all the homemade entrees and sides. Tuesday is polish sausage, fried chicken and turkey and dressing, thursdays has an OK lunch selection. Friday is Mexican themed but also has catfish and beef tips. Saturdays is chicken fried steak and thanksgiving dinner. I love the homemade rolls. Desserts are my least favorite item on the serving line, but it's mainly because I don't like cobblers. Keep in mind that some of the food here is on the salty side. Service is very friendly and casual to say the least. They work on the honor system. read more

Great coffee, great breakfast! If you're still in town at lunchtime, they have an amazing hot, homemade lunch, and a great, friendly service! And the cost is friendly, too! You can't beat that! Patricia Schultz Blessing, Texas read more

Great "home" cooked lunch buffet! The mains are beef, fried chicken, shredded chicken (turkey?), and sausage on the day our group of 14 ate there (we did call ahead - and they were able to accommodate us without any problems!) Extremely friendly and welcoming staff- So - if you are in the area at lunch time - go on in for some home cooking! read more

Great food, and super friendly service!! It was like walking into your mom's kitchen!!

WOWZERS!! I can't express how amazing this place was. If you want a fast breakfast go somewhere else. If you want a home cooked, local produce and yard eggs and a meal cooked exactly when you order it go here!! It takes a while to place your order and get it but it is worth the wait. We had an amazing breakfast there. The western omelet was incredible thanks for Ms Helen and the coffee was one of the best I have ever had! We were just disappointed that we were so full and couldn't participate in the amazing buffet that was about to happen. The Blessing Hotel is a place where you will step back in time and be so pleasantly pleased that you did. read more

We ate here two weeks ago and it was so amazing we went out of our way today to go back again. First off, when you enter the hotel you go back in time. The restaurant has the finest home cooking that I've tasted in years. Today's meats were chicken fried steak and meatloaf and you simply have to try them to understand how good they really are, of course with cream gravy and mashed potatoes. Old fashion rolls, green beans, butter beans, corn, corn bread, and salad, and multiple types of desserts and a drink come with a meal for $11 including tax. You owe it to yourself to try this establishment, you will not be disappointed. read more

Blessing Hotel Coffee Shop - Breakfast. Very homey! Huge pancake! - American Near Me - Blessing, Texas

Classic, southern-style comfort food in an old hotel, well worth the stop/trip. We were there on a Sunday, and the turkey/dressing and other meats/gravy were all good. Sides and desserts were so-so, and breads were good. Hard to beat $13 for such a buffet and experience. read more

Some friends and I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon to try out this supposedly amazing place we found on CNN being reported as the "best dang food joint in Texas." The dining room is small but vintage. Staff are friendly as well as some of the customers. Beware if your not from the town, people will stare and wonder what you're doing there. The all you can eat buffet on Sunday costs $9, and that is a major steal. Food is good, but not amazing nor the best dang food in Texas. There are lots of options including fruits for dessert and its all you can eat. Moral of the story: good and cheap place to eat, but not the best dang food joint in Texas. read more

Self-serve home cooking! The day we were there, a Monday, we had fried chicken, sausage, beef tips in gravy, and the best squash and pinto beans. Found some gravy on the back stove when I went back for another small piece of chicken. I always eat here when I'm in the area. read more

The best meal I have ever eaten in my entire life was from Hotel Blessing. If you ever have a chance to drive out east on 290 for a few hours, you must make a stop at Hotel Blessing. It is a historic hotel that was built in 1906. It looks almost like you're about to enter a haunted mansion, but don't let that detour you, you are about to experience some SERIOUS home cooking. The all you can eat lunch buffet is from 11-2 pm and is $8.50 during the week, and $9.00 on Sundays. Some might say this is a steep price for a buffet, but this ain't no Golden Corral. This is grandma Ethel serving up the best she's got. During the week, it's whatever is on the stove, but there is always several different meat options and tons of vegetables. On Sunday, it's a turkey dinner feast complete with stuffing. They have turkey, stuffing, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with bacon, new potatoes, creamed corn, cabbage, rice, hot rolls, peach cobbler, and iced tea. Everything is amazing. This is truly a hidden gem of southern comfort food. read more

I feel as though I have to rebut the 3 star reviews that are posted here. Obviously, these people had the wrong expectations. If you come here expecting some grand gourmet experience, you're missing the point of this place entirely! This is all about southern comfort food, home style. This is the closest thing to a church potluck that you can get without being in church on a Sunday. The food consists of corn, green beans, Lima beans, cooked cabbage, greens, turkey, fried chicken, taco casserole, dressing, cole slaw, some salads and canned fruits. There is unsweet tea and water for beverage and some cakes/cobblers for dessert. It's an old hole in the wall building with several sweet older ladies cooking like they cook at the house. If you want to relive some great memories, this is the place to come too, worth the trip! read more

Everything was good we had the beef tips over rice and the fried chicken it was excellent and all the sides.

Can't say enough about this place! The folks are awesome, the food is amazing. Have been there for breakfast and lunch on several occasions, and never disappointed. As they say, if you leave hungry, it's your own fault! Also stayed at the hotel a couple of times and it was just a feel good experience. Can't until our next visit. read more

I've been to the Blessing Hotel for breakfast and lunch and it's always a super treat!! The food is home cooking at it's finest! Now city folks who don't appreciate Southern Homestyle Cooking probably won't find it as amazing as those of us who were raised on this type of cooking! These ladies don't watch the cholesterol or pinch on the real butter! It's absolutely "stick to your ribs" fantastic food!! The Hotel just takes your breath away with nostalgia for the old days. The dining hall is, I'm sure, exactly as it was back then... and is so quaint and home like! Yes the folks stare, but country folks tend to keep to themselves and are used to the "regulars" that typically come. But you're always welcome and the ladies that work there always have a smile! I have eaten at the old hotel several times but the food is not that good. We go because it is quaint and the drive is nice.

Don't know why people could complain about this place. Maybe they had different expectations. This is down home Grandma's cooking, plain and simple. It's like being at your Grandma or Great Aunt's house. Don't be in a rush, don't be rude, and relax. Food and Sunday is the best, like Thanksgiving or a good Church potluck. It's been quite sometime since I have been! I just remember amazing things about this place. If your looking for the best homemade Texas country cookin', you found it! These are dishes that take 2 hours + each to cook. This is one place that has grandma style thanksgiving every day of the week! What they have out is what you get, no menu, just buffet, tea and dessert! The times we went I don't think they accepted credit cards. This is more of a locals place, they don't advertise it. You have to know its there. I drove past it all my life, until we worked close to blessing on the pipeline. Just look for all the cars next to the old motel building! read more
