They are open for breakfast and lunch only. It is $14 for all you can eat homemade food and it is absolutely great. I met my dad there for lunch on Thursday which was fried chicken day with all the trimmings. The fried chicken was great and was accompanied by mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade rolls and peach cobbler. There were many other vegetables and even a salad bar. I ate so much I didn't even eat supper that evening. I will definitely be coming back this place was wonderful. The hotel is extremely old and has been there since the horse and buggy days. The original front desk and check in are still used just like in the old west movies. Anyone coming through has got to stop and check this place out. This restaurant is where it's at. I've been coming here for about 35 years now and it's still some of the best home cooking you can get in the US. My parents still drive from Houston about 1.5 hrs away just to eat here and now I make the short drive too. They're only open for breakfast and then lunch for a few hours a day, that's when you want to come and sample all the homemade entrees and sides. Tuesday is polish sausage, fried chicken and turkey and dressing, thursdays has an OK lunch selection. Friday is Mexican themed but also has catfish and beef tips. Saturdays is chicken fried steak and thanksgiving dinner. I love the homemade rolls. Desserts are my least favorite item on the serving line, but it's mainly because I don't like cobblers. Keep in mind that some of the food here is on the salty side. Service is very friendly and casual to say the least. They work on the honor system. read more

WOWZERS!! I can't express how amazing this place was. If you want a fast breakfast go somewhere else. If you want a home cooked, local produce and yard eggs and a meal cooked exactly when you order it go here!! It takes a while to place your order and get it but it is worth the wait. We had an amazing breakfast there. The western omelet was incredible thanks for Ms Helen and the coffee was one of the best I have ever had! We were just disappointed that we were so full and couldn't participate in the amazing buffet that was about to happen. We ate here two weeks ago and it was so amazing we went out of our way today to go back again. First off, when you enter the hotel you go back in time. The restaurant has the finest home cooking that I've tasted in years. Today's meats were chicken fried steak and meatloaf and you simply have to try them to understand how good they really are, of course with cream gravy and mashed potatoes. Old fashion rolls, green beans, butter beans, corn, corn bread, and salad, and multiple types of desserts and a drink come with a meal for $11 including tax. Some friends and I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon to try out this supposedly amazing place we found on CNN being reported as the "best dang food joint in Texas." The dining room is small but vintage. Staff are friendly as well as some of the customers. Beware if your not from the town, people will stare and wonder what you're doing there. The all you can eat buffet on Sunday costs $9, and that is a major steal. Food is good, but not amazing nor the best dang food in Texas. The best meal I have ever eaten in my entire life was from Hotel Blessing. If you ever have a chance to drive out east on 290 for a few hours, you must make a stop at Hotel Blessing. It is a historic hotel that was built in 1906. It looks almost like you're about to enter a haunted mansion, but don't let that detour you, you are about to experience some SERIOUS home cooking. The all you can eat lunch buffet is from 11-2 pm and is $8.50 during the week, and $9.00 on Sundays. Some might say this is a steep price for a buffet, but this ain't no Golden Corral. This is grandma Ethel serving up the best she's got. During the week, it's whatever is on the stove, but there is always several different meat options and tons of vegetables. On Sunday, it's a turkey dinner feast complete with stuffing. They have turkey, stuffing, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans with bacon, new potatoes, creamed corn, cabbage, rice, hot rolls, peach cobbler, and iced tea. Everything is amazing. I feel as though I have to rebut the 3 star reviews that are posted here. Obviously, these people had the wrong expectations. If you come here expecting some grand gourmet experience, you're missing the point of this place entirely! This is all about southern comfort food, home style. This is the closest thing to a church potluck that you can get without being in church on a Sunday. The food consists of corn, green beans, Lima beans, cooked cabbage, greens, turkey, fried chicken, taco casserole, dressing, cole slaw, some salads and canned fruits. There is unsweet tea and water for beverage and some cakes/cobblers for dessert. It's an old hole in the wall building with several sweet older ladies cooking like they cook at the house. Now city folks who don't appreciate Southern Homestyle Cooking probably won't find it as amazing as those of us who were raised on this type of cooking! These ladies don't watch the cholesterol or pinch on the real butter! It's absolutely "stick to your ribs" fantastic food!! The Hotel just takes your breath away with nostalgia for the old days. These are dishes that take 2 hours + each to cook. This is one place that has grandma style thanksgiving every day of the week! The hostess cashier ran to the back as soon as we walked in never to return!!!! Rude welcoming!!! A customer who must've been a regular offered to get her and she wouldn't even come out!!! Unbelievable??? No food / no service after traveling 2 hours to enjoy the food at a place we had heard so much about!!!! So disappointing on so many levels!!!!
