I had a check engine light with a code that said trouble with Bank 2 Catalytic Converter--I didn't want a new one from the dealer (over $5000 just for the part), and didn't like the place down the street he recommended because the man there was rude and snooty, so I called this place, Advanced Muffler, and Bianca told me to bring my Jeep in right then and there. They looked at it & said they could get me a good deal on a quality after-market cat converter (MagnaFlow), so I went for it. The part came in the next day--she called me to confirm--and I brought the Jeep in first thing. They were done in about 3 hours! The check engine light is gone and the Jeep runs beautifully again. He charged me $750 to remove the intake manifold and starter, which I agreed to in hopes that he would identify the issue with my car. After a day and a half, I received a text saying my engine was seized and would need to be replaced. This was confusing because, during the initial diagnostic, he told me the issue was electrical. I don't believe he even used the proper tool to manually turn the crankshaft. I had my car towed back home, and yesterday I checked over the work myself. I found missing bolts, loose bolts, missing coolant hose clips, and the intake manifold was installed incorrectly--with a coolant hose pinched between the manifold and the alternator. I essentially had to undo everything I paid him to do just to inspect what else was missing or improperly reinstalled. Wires were left exposed and not put back into their plastic sheathing. For $750 in labor, plus $150 for the diagnostic, I expected a much higher level of care, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship. Unfortunately, what I received was far from professional, and I'm left disappointed and frustrated that I now have to fix the very things I paid someone else to do. I don't expect any kind of partial refund or apology, as that would only imply accountability for what I've outlined above.

Came in for an alternator job. They charged me 340+ and put in a used alternator. Technically they…read moremight have done good work. But that a really premium price for a used part. They explained that it was due to inflation or something. The car works but I feel pretty betrayed. Do with this info, whatever you want. I only went here cause no other mechanic answered the phone. They were nice and respectful but that really doesn't matter as much as trustworthy service and keeping the customers best interests in mind. I'll be sure to go elsewhere if I have any other opportunity. I should have sourced the part myself.
