Gino and another colleague came on November 19 and did the job in about 30 min. I was a bit surprised they were done so quick, but they explained it was so expensive because of the height of the roof. I have been waiting for my invoice including the warranty now for almost 1 1/2 months. Despite several emails back and forth I haven't yet received it. I cannot say much about the quality of the work but the difficulties in getting the invoice give rise to doubt about the professionalism. I will update this review should I hear back from Illinois Chimney & Masonry.

We brought a quote from another company to Russ to evaluate and get a second opinion. Not only did he come in about 30% lower than the competitor, he was honest and forthright about what would be best for our situation. He did not try to sell us something more expensive or a set that would not work for our home. He answered every question and allowed us time to discuss the decision between ourselves. When we decided to have them do the install, he was able to get everything done in a timely fashion. The technician who installed the unvented gas log burner did a great job. He protected our floor while working and cleaned up everything. He offered to take away the grate that was used for burning wood. He let my husband know all the details for using the remote, leaving the glass doors open, etc. It heated our entire house so well that we had to turn it off for a while!
