    Corn with broken sauce

This place used to have high-quality food that I really loved but yesterday I ordered some food from them and the brisket was nothing but fat. The burnt ends were so fatty that the fat congealed on the outside before I could even taste them and they were still supposed to be warm. The only thing that was the same was the potato salad, which was really good and the beans were really good. The devil eggs were passable, but the ribs were really nasty they were fatty and hard. The corn muffins are OK but the corn had broken sauce. Those things used to be magnificent now they're not I'm wondering what happened? Did they change ownership? Did they hire a terrible cook? Something is wrong here. I've been a customer for six years. I've had many good meals from this place and now something is wrong. I would be afraid to order from this place again so sad.

Wow! I rate this place in the top 5 bbq places I've been in the US and it's all the way in Fort Collins. I've had my fair share of the best brisket from Texas to Mississippi but this place knows how to do it. Ordered a pound of fatty brisket and it was so delish, moist and the bark was legit! You can really taste the smoke flavor. And dipping it with their homemade spicy bbq sauce took it to the next level. Then ordered 1/2 lb of their smoked chicken wings and it was out of bounds. It was well seasoned, smoky and juicy. I order it naked and came with a tangy sauce that was a great compliment. And their jalapeño corn bread and Mac and cheese were some of the best I've had. Kudos to the owner and chef. Thanks for serving us great bbq It's located in the courtyard across the theaters. Lots of parking available. Make sure to come hungry and you won't be disappointed!!

Came here twice in 10 days! First time, not super high expectations (it is after all in the parking lot of a mall). The gentleman who served us was incredibly friendly and knew his product. I asked whether the okra was made in house and he admitted that it was the only thing that wasn't- told me it was good though and if I ordered it and didn't like it he would fix me something else. He checked in on us midmeal (which is a tad unusual in a place where you order from the counter) and was again so friendly we assumed he was the owner/manager. Imagine our surprise when we came in a week later and were served by a different gent and it was an equally delightful interaction! He even brought us out a coupon for next time! So, customer service definitely a 10! Now for the food: First trip- I got the chopped brisket sandwich (same as regular brisket except BBQ sauce is already involved) and fried okra on the side. They have a few temperatures of sauce available to self-serve and I used some on my okra, but the sandwich was tender and delicious and needed nothing! I especially liked the addition of pickles in the sandwich, it was a nice contrasting flavor and texture. It was also VERY generously portioned- I ate it around 2pm and was too full to consider dinner that evening! My companion got the pulled pork sandwich (my second go-to in BBQ) with a side of sweet potato tots. For the pulled pork you apply your own BBQ sauce at the table. It was also scrumptious and he ended up taking half home to finish later. We also got a banana pudding which wasn't much to look at (seldom is when scooped out of a larger container) but still very tasty. Second Trip- I got the chopped brisket again, this time with Brussel sprouts/oyster mushrooms. The first time was no fluke- it was just as magnificent...and the brussels/shrooms oh my word! They were perfectly seasoned and a bit crispy- I am actually going to throw shrooms in the next time I make brussels at home! My companion got the pulled port again, but asked to have some sauce mixed in, which they were happy to do. This time rather than stuffing ourselves silly (which I would have been more than happy to do) we saved half of each of our sandwiches for later. We were happily full but not overstuffed. Overall, we were huge fans. The staff we interacted with were truly lovely and the food!!! Holy Bananas!

I was looking for a BBQ while running an errand and this showed up on my feed. I headed over though it was near the lunch hour. The hardest part about getting there was parking. Apparently there was also a very popular event going on nearby which made it slightly tough. The area it was at was neat! I went in the winter so not a lot going on outside and no one sitting outside. In better weather they have a great people watching venue. Inside was clean and inviting. The large menu wall greeted you as you entered. I was surprised by the lack of crowds but that is how I found out about the other event. I asked for a recommendation, ordered the brisket sandwich and tots, grabbed my water and sat down. There was also a bar area to get some local brews. Food was delivered quickly and I was told about where to find the sauces and silverware. The sauces turned out to be my least favorite thing. They had Ketchup, SMOK regular, SMOK Spicy, and SMOK Hot. I took a little of each of the sauces, not ketchup, in small containers and sat down. The SMOK regular tasted like ketchup to me. The SMOK Spicey wasn't as well as the SMOK hot. All the sauces were disappointments. That being said the meat was great! The tots were done perfectly as well. They really need to do something about the sauces. The staff was professional and chatty and answered any questions I had. The place was clean and the staff didn't leave a dirty table dirty for long at all.

Nachos (half portion) 11$ for a HUGE portion

I was staying at the Marriot nearby and came here based on their positive reviews. My partner and I ordered their pulled pork sandwich, breakfast burrito and the half portion of BBQ nachos. We were shocked to see how the half portion of nachos was HUGE-- more than enough to feed two people (it definitely could've been an appetizer for 3-4) and at a great value at $11. They were generous with the toppings and it was quite delicious, my only note was that the cheese and toppings were not heated together with the chips, it would have been perfect if they had baked it all together so all the toppings would be warm and all the cheese was melted. Onto the entrees, we were extremely impressed. My breakfast burrito was DELCIIOUS-- hot, fresh and chock full of delicious fillings and in a quality tortilla. Everything in the burrito worked well with each other and the meat was SO tender and flavorful. The hot sauce they make in house was also amazing and had a great heat (it was very spicy) and chile de árbol flavor. My partner also really enjoyed his sandwich-- the meat in every order was fresh, well seasoned and extremely tender. We ate in the restaurant and the seating was comfortable, with good ambiance. We appreciated being able to self-serve BBQ and hot sauce and being able to pack our food to-go. Overall a great experience!

Ok I might've landed on a unicorn this week!!! I am super snobby with BBQ because it's my hobby so for me I am super picky. First walking up and and soon as you open the door you know this is going to be on point based off the smoke aroma inside. Service was 5 star 100%!! Food was very good my favorites for sure were the ribs and brisket and while I wasn't a 100% fan of the burnt ends based on my preferences they had great flavor. Everything for the burnt ends, brisket, jalapeño sausage, pit beans, potato salad and corn bread. There wasn't anything I didn't like! This will for sure be a repeat for me and can't wait to come back.

I was conflicted for this review. We ordered nachos to share, and I had Mac and cheese and a chopped brisket sandwich. The sandwich was juicy and had good taste but could tell as I was eating it was SUPER salty. The Mac and cheese was way too creamy and I had texture issues with it and it also was WAY too salty. The nachos were a bit cold when we got them but the taste was good. It was pretty empty when we were in the restaurant- and it wasn't super easy to find walking around the mall trying to figure out how to get there. Staff were friendly just wish they hadn't salted the food to death. We all were guzzling water for the rest of the night and even the next morning we felt like we couldn't get enough water. Please decrease the amount of salt you use and change it to sea salt- it completely changes how you feel during and after eating.

I had the brisket sandwich with a side and we ordered a half order of the brisket nachos. The service was great from the minute we walked in. The food was really good, my only complaint was the brisket was a little dry. I am a huge fan of brisket and this one missed the mark. The nachos were very good and loaded with toppings.

Pretty good brisket. Tender and juicy. The tacos had good portions and the spicy bbq sauce is really tasty

First couple of bites and my mouth is still water. This food is incredible! No sauce needed! Friendly service up at the counter! Awesome decor and ambiance created in this little spot by the mall! Love the location in Denver and I am so glad they have one up in FoCo now! Great job and congratulations on the new location! I'll tell everyone!

Very good! We loved the burnt ends and the pork was perfectly smoked, too! Great place for a gathering, or a date.

The bar almost resembles something you might find in a small European hotel, which may suggest they are aiming for a slightly upscale tone, though it never feels pretentious. The seating is varied, with small tables and retro chairs that seem intentionally chosen rather than bought in bulk. The spacing is better than most coffee shops, which makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The back area opens up even more, and the soft drapery adds a touch of personality that appears to hint at events or just a bit of flair. The staff continues to be the standout for me. Everyone I spoke with was kind in a way that felt natural, and they knew the menu well enough to help me navigate dairy free options. I usually order the avocado toast on focaccia because it is consistently fresh. The bread looks oversized at first but is airy and soft, and the avocado and radish topping feels simple in the best way. The matcha made with water has also become a go to since it tastes smooth and well-bodied without that chalky, thin finish some places have. My partner and I visited during their Dia de Los Muertos weekend and tried a few themed items. Everything was good, and they were quick to suggest dairy free choices. Prices seem fair, even with the general bump everywhere lately. The only thing I wish they had more of is outlets. It is still a nice place to work for a couple of hours, but coming with a charged laptop helps. The overall vibe is calm with just enough energy to keep the space from feeling sleepy. It works well for coffee dates, casual catch ups, or solo work, especially for anyone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere without too much chaos.

Ace Gillett's -- The Best Speakeasy Vibe in Fort Collins…read more Ace Gillett's is one of our favorite spots in Fort Collins -- a fun, underground bar with true speakeasy vibes. Cozy booths, dim lighting, live music, a full bar, and genuinely delicious food make it the kind of place you want to linger. We love coming here with friends and sharing appetizers: flatbread pizza, fries, Brussels sprouts -- everything is consistently great. We've celebrated our daughter's 21st birthday here, and celebrated our new home here. It's perfect for date night, girls' night out, or a cozy, relaxing evening with live music. One of the best things about Ace Gillett's is how flexible it is. As my husband and I say, it's an "every evening place" -- you can splurge on an incredible full meal or spend $15 on a happy hour drink and an appetizer. It works for any occasion and any budget. And the location is unbeatable: tucked beneath the historic Armstrong Hotel in the heart of downtown Fort Collins. Super convenient if you're staying there, and a wonderful spot to add to any night out. Highly recommended.

Plenty of smiles and maybe one of the few genuine "we're glad you're here" vibes I've experienced in N. Colorado. Yay for customer service! Clean and open entryway. A few arcade games when you walkin gives a nice fun flair. They have booths, tables, and a sizable bar that spread along the windows letting in the sunset glow. Busy wall decor for those who like that sorta thing. It was very clean and open in there so it didn't feel cluttered or messy. Menu is "bar food" and fried; think happy hour.... But wait there is no happy hour there? It didn't appear so anyways. We looked at the menu beforehand so we were looking forward to a variety of fried goodness! For those who are looking for veggies to maybe balance the plate- this is not the place. The food was good and cooked to our request. Beverages- beer and cocktail list, Pepsi products. Paper towels at the table for folks who are getting down with wings. Catfish are two 4 oz filets; they definitely were tasty, seasoning was great and the lemon slice was a nice touch. I was underwhelmed by the plate:price ratio ... and I understand what type of economy a new business must be facing... And not many places here have catfish on their regular menu, so I can be humble and content. They won my heart over with a full plate of battered fries and condiments galore. Buffalo wings were great. Loved the sauce with the extra jalapeño pieces on top. Wish there were a few more carrots/celery on the plate. I'm not a huge fan of the tray vs. plates or baskets, however, am aware that it's an eco-friendly choice and likely helps cleanup/dishwashing duties in the back. I would like to try one of their hot dogs and the apps before I feel like I've been given an impression of their menu. I am looking forward to it and imagine I'll be able to add the 4th star to my review and/or to get more of a feel for why I'm "on the fence." Zoltar sent us and we're so happy we visited!
