I ordered the Classic Brisket Burger, Cole Slaw, and a side salad. my husband ordered the same Brisket Burger, Garlic Butter Broccoli, and the Cole Slaw. when I bit in to my brisket burger, my toes curled and my eyes rolled back in my head! This is by far the best burger I have ever had in my life! The Cole Slaw is unique from others and it was delicious! My husband said the broccoli was crisp and fresh! The side salad was fresh and crisp as well. You will not be disappointed if you visit Turner's Pit Barbecue. They also serve alcohol and the crowd was very friendly. I'm divided on this place. They do some things well, but there are a lot of half measures. Berthoud needs more eateries (gave them extra stars for this fact alone), but all BBQ fans in the area have been to Georgia Boys and Smoking Dave's, so they need to recognize that their competitors are making most everything from scratch -- sauce, beans, fries. The pound of brisket was at least 25% fat and there was zero flavor in both the ribs and brisket as well... And the BBQ sauce - everyone made a face when we tasted it - eww. Turner's BBQ is the best in the state. Hands down. Longmont is lucky to have this food truck out and about. We've shared with friends from Texas and South Carolina and they agree- best smoked meats in the area. My husband and I reside in Berthoud. We are all about supporting local businesses. We tried TP BBQ a week ago. The atmosphere during happy hour is crazy! Lots of locals. We both shared the brisket. Before we ordered we asked our server if the brisket was lean. He assured us it was. Well the first three pieces were awesome. Very lean. The last two were nothing but fat. Neither of us could eat those pieces. The spicy mac & cheese is good and my husband enjoyed the fries. There are other BBQ options in the area. I would love to see TP BBQ improve the food quality. Stopped in for the first time at the new restaurant location in Berthoud. Place hasn't changed from the previous owner. Same bartenders. Mostly old time residents mainly there to drink and chat. Service was lacking. Hard to find a seat. Tables not cleaned. Music was loud. Ordered wings which were tasty for an appetizer. We split a half rack of ribs and an order of fries. Ribs were tender but needed more sauce. Fries were hot and adequate amount. Not sure when I will return. Maybe order takeout! read more

Smokey, juicy, irresistible - memorable. Pork heaven for BBQ lovers, with a nod to chicken. We had been told about a new food truck making the rounds around Longmont breweries and farmer's markets too and looked them up on Yelp and then on Facebook. The menu looked awesome. We found them at Grossen Bart brewery off Delaware St. (that place is a hidden gem and I mean, hidden. But this isn't their review). We ordered a brisket sandwich, brisket plate and sausage "hot guts" as they call it, plate. Upon first taste, it was quiet except for the mm's and sounds of eating. Then, "this is sooo good". My brisket was tender and had a nice ratio of fat to meat and the original BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy. I wish I'd gotten extra! My friends were nice enough to share the food on their plates and we all got a good sampling. The brisket sandwich was covered with onions and peppers with cheese and with their sauce I was wishing I'd also ordered THAT. The sausage was spicy, but not over spiced and I would buy that in the store. I'd have ordered that too! (Guess I gotta go back). I found their weekly schedule online and on their website. Incredible BBQ - brisket, ribs, pork belly, house-made sausage, absolutely everything is delicious. These guys know their smoked meats, and it shows every time we visit the truck. The sides and desserts are also incredible - pork belly beans, slaw, etc - everything seems to rotate each time we go, but that they usually have some pickled onions and cucumbers on the side which provide a great flavor reset before you dive into the meats again. Wow. This is now my favorite BBQ place in Colorado. I got the brisket plate with Mac and cheese and beans. The brisket was honestly the best I've ever had. So moist and tender. The sides were also amazing. My husband got the brisket burger which I believe was the special for the day and he was also very impressed. The owner was very friendly when I ordered.
