Time and time again this location continues do let me down. $31 for 2 bowls and a 20oz is outrageous for the quality they are providing. 1) the açaí lacked flavor, I've had from other location it has never tasted bland. 2) the banana is MUSHY 3) the açaí is not full enough for the cup it comes in 4) SAMANTHA & TEYANA were rude and full of attitude. Some Smoothie Kings are better than others, and the service at this location is just average, and the smoothies are average as far as this brand goes. Ordered a 32 oz smoothie here through a mobile order, I knew I was probably a few minutes early but it was empty so I figured it wouldn't take too long. As soon as I walked in the atmosphere was negative. There were 2 employees in sight and no customers. I read the sign for mobile pickup and I noticed no drink was made yet, so naturally I waited a few minutes because there's no problem in waiting..... maybe about 2 minutes pass by and both employees did not ask what I was here for. I thought, okay that's fine. As I wait by the MOBILE pickup counter, I notice one of the employees start to approach me with the nastiest face EVER. She looked at me like I was an idiot and threw her hands up asking me what I needed. LIKE IM SORRY?? Am I interrupting your conversation with your coworker?? Anyway, I nicely tell her I have a pick up order. Which She did not hear me over the loud music they had playing. She ASSUMES I said I wanted to place an order. And points to where the order here counter is at.... And tells me"YOU ORDER OVER THERE" like duhhhh I can read signs?????????? Sooooo repeat myself with a stronger attitude this time because she obviously isn't in the mood for customer service. I tell her it's A MOBILE ORDER,, and she looks so confused????? I double check I ordered it to the right address and sure enough, I was at the right place.. how disappointing Her coworker then asks me how long ago did I order, so I explain to her it's been maybe about 10 minutes. Both were dumbfounded to the MAX. Usually I understand the stress and anxiety a restaurant/ food service can give you, as myself have worked in the food industry. But there were no customers in sight and there was absolutely no reason why the first employee needed to be that unprofessional and GHETTO. She was ghetto. Sad to say this is THE worst location for smoothie bowls. I've been obsessed with the Açaí Cocoa Haze smoothie bowls and this location is the only one that can't get them right! The smoothie bowl is always melted, fruit seems old and something doesn't seem right with the hazelnut drizzle. It seems spoiled, watery consistency and smells acidic. Great marketing, great staff, great service, but I just can't give above 3 stars because it would feel wrong. Have you seen the sugar content? The ingredients are mostly pumped from hidden containers behind the bar. I don't see fresh fruit anywhere, just spooned out of a container soaked in sugar syrup I'm sure. It's like they don't want you to know the actual ingredients. Good afternoon. So I have a problem. The smoothies are so expensive and it's mostly water cause off all the ice they add to them. With less than 1 dollar worth of fruit in the smoothie why are they almost 10 dollars. I work in retail were we also make smoothies in are facilities but we do not use any ice. We cut and freeze our fruit daily to make the smoothie cold with out adding ice or water why don't you guys do it this way as this way is the correct way. I know this is a chain so they really don't care about how people feel. But it is so unfair that 10 dollar smoothies are 60 percent water. I was a regular customer at Smoothie King in the Heights until today. I will never go there again. The young employees are rude and seem to be biased again people of color. Their policies are inconsistent. It depends on who is taking orders at that specific time. I always ask for a cup of water with ice and a pup cup for my dog. Today I was told there was a 25 cent charge for the water and the sample ice cream cups are seasonable. I have never been charge for water or the sample ice cream. If there was a charge for the water or the ice cream sample allow me to pay for it regardless of a separate debit charge. There is not a minimum amount for debit card purchases. I was treated rude by both young ladies at the window. When i asked for a name I was told they did not have to give me their names and they slammed the window shut. Of course I contacted corporate and do not expect much. I will never spend anymore money with this company at any location. Based on the treatment I feel my smoothie was tampered with because you cannot enter the store due to the covid 19 virus. I threw it away. I wasted money but never again will I spend a penny with this company. You may be okay if you do not asked for ice water or ice cream in a sample cup for your dog. I had no problem paying if there was a charge but I will not tolerate rude behavior, disrespect and inconsistent policies based on who is at the register that day. The manager has been at this location for a long time and is very knowledgeable about their products. I've come to this smoothie king 3 times now and find the customer service to lack consistency. I'm not from around these parts but my hotel room is near, so it's convenient to stop by. My first visit was a pleasant one. I stopped by one morning around 9 or 10 and the guy greeted me with a smile from ear to ear, but my last 2 encounters weren't as pleasant. One time the young lady and guy were giggling and whispering the whole entire time my son and I were in there, so I wasn't sure if the laughter was about us or what. I really didn't care, but being a former manager, that's just not employee etiquette and another time the guy acted as though the cat had his tongue because he barely parted his lips to speak and had his head down the entire time.
