I just left from having a horrible experience!! I've encountered negativity from this location before but this took the cake! I tried to communicate due to dietary issues I couldn't have the smoothie I ordered so before touching the order I asked if they could remake the smoothie, which is a different flavor but same price. I didn't want a refund. They said they could remake the drink so I then asked for a refund she told me I couldn't get a refund while being so nasty to me. I then asked for a manager she said I would have to wait until Monday! Today is Friday and I live an hour away. When I asked for the manager name she said "why" you made the mistake?! I couldn't believe she allowed that to come out of her mouth! I'm so disappointed, disgusted, and HUNGRY! I want to leave 0 stars nothing was good about it. I just had the worst experience ever. To start, I haven't been to Smoothie King in so long time because of making my own shakes but am needing to restock on my veggies and fruits. So this morning, I thought it would be the perfect day to get one from Smoothie King, it's Friday, why not?! David, who has now made himself known to me as the manager, took my order and made me feel bad for not knowing exactly why I wanted. I was trying to decided on what veggie I wanted to add to the smoothie. I choose to get a 32oz (promo buy one get one free another day) slim-n-trim vanilla (banana) add kale. He rudely interrupted me talking to another person asking for them to help the guest behind me in an annoyed tone. I finished by asking to make sure there wasn't any additional milk and he pointed to the menu stating there isn't any milk in there, as to make me feel stupid. A couple of hours later I've barely been able to get the drink down because of it tasting weird and my stomach starts hurting really bad making me feel sick and rushing to the restroom. I called the location, David answered and I explained the concern with hopes to exchange the drink. His response was No, especially if you just don't like it. I reiterated that I was sick after drinking it and he responded with there's nothing here that would get anyone sick, you're more than welcome to come in and buy another. I asked if he was the manager, then for his first and last name. He only gave me his first and said I could call corporate for the rest. Needless to say, that's what I plan to do. I'd much rather eat cupcakes and watch GOT reruns but cardio is a requirement according to medical professionals. After a workout we go on a protein mission and end up here Monday night. It's close to their closing time so we try to make it fast. The cashier was rude and condescending. She stared at us for a while before she even said anything and neglected to even greet us. I ordered a lemon twist strawberry smoothie. It tasted like strawberry lemonade. They have $5 Friday's you get 32oz of your choice drink. It was my first time visiting this location it was on my way towards a friend's house so I decided to stop in and take advantage of the BOGO sale that was going on with Smoothie King this week. As I walked in I was greeted by the three employees behind the counter. I question them about the BOGO deal prior to ordering my shake and they did recognize that deal so I went ahead and ordered. My friend sent me their order but I wasn't really sure of the shake name so I described it to the employee that was helping me order. She figured it out right away and put in my friend's order as well. At this location they take down your name for your order. I waited less than 5 minutes for both shakes and they called my name on my order was ready. The gentleman who cashed me out asked me if I was a rewards member which was wonderful because half the time I forget to open the app to earn points. He also asked if wanted a smoothie sleeve which was perfect because it was raining outside and its hard to carry two shakes and an umbrella. My name was used throughout my visit even though it was only a 10-minute transaction I felt welcome there right away. I placed an order through door dash and even though I specified in the notes "please use only non dairy products" they used their whey protein in it (which is made from milk). They called me before they made it, but I am at work and did not answer. I called them back within 4 minutes and they said they used the whey protein. I told them I cannot have it and I would be sick and they said they wouldn't make me a new one unless I paid for a whole new order. The man on the other side of the phone claims it was my fault because I did not answer the phone. Even though the notes specified. Oh well, some people can't follow simple instructions, and cannot admit when they've made a mistake. I love me some smoothie king! I was hooked years ago after a dental visit that left me hungry but unable to eat real food for awhile. I'm a fan of the peanut power plus with strawberry. It's in no way healthy but the damn thing tastes so good. This store is well maintained and if you sign up for the text program you may get some occasional good things. This past Sunday I received the bogo option along with an update to the new hours on Sunday. I am not on a mission, I just want the Smoothie King closest to my home to be my Smoothie King. So I went back to this store on Midway after using to the Forest and Belt Line in these recent months and ran to see if they had learned anything since I had been there with my last certificate. I asked them again if they would honor the certificate off my phone. Two factors for non Smoothie King persons. ONe- we get these certificates because we are members of the loyalty program and spend our cash often at one of their stores, Two-their loyalty program using an app and a scanning system. Once again, I was told I would need to go home and print my certificate. This is the same song a different verse. I drove to Belt Line and was warmly greeted as soon as you walk in the store. Admitted I had failed to print my certificate and asked what we could do. He said order up and I did. He tried to scan it and it did not work. He punched a lot of buttons on the register to honor the certificate and took my credit card because I was purchasing other items (that I would have bought at the other store) and wished me a good day. Night and Day between these two stores. Smoothie King please fix the store near me. I am a good customer and want it to be my store. Located on the busy bee road of Midway, so it's hard to spot when you're driving along after work. It's fast, cheap & healthy! What more can you ask for?! So I am a fan of smoothie king and their variety of options. However, every time I come in here the manager is a complete ass to his employees in front of all the customers. I can't even imagine what it's like behind closed doors. Those poor employees get snapped at, yelled at and totally humiliated in front of everyone. There is a time and place to give feedback to your employees, not to mention in a manner that is respectful, uplifting & conducive to a healthy workplace. This guy needs to have a swift talking to. I love this store! I used to live and work right next to this store and often went in for my breakfast. Well, I got a new job and also moved. I haven't been to this store in over a year and a half and stopped by this morning because I had a work event close by.
