Would not return Got the seasonal pumpkin vegan smoothie while cruising through the airport, when you pay the clerk points out the tip section. Tipping culture is really overboard, usually wouldn't tip prior to service or to go without seeing the service of taking order and handing me the food but she was a little insistent. I tipped 1.00 on a 10 dollar to go smoothie. She looked at the receipt then (keep in mind she already called out my order to her coworker) turned to look at her coworker. This Smoothie King location was my saving grace at getting in any nutrition before my flight out of Chicago O'Hare International Airport. It was conveniently located across from the United Airlines gate which made it totally acceptable for me to visit prior to boarding my flight. After taking note of the few vegan options available, I ended up ordering a black bean salad w/ an Island Impact smoothie. I enjoyed the Island Impact smoothie, as well as the black bean salad; the taste of the smoothie was surely satisfying prior to and as I boarded my flight, and the black bean salad most definitely came in handy amidst flight. I've never had a yogurt parfait with frozen yogurt. When the employee is done making it I realize it was made with frozen yogurt. I politely explained that I misunderstood and thought it would be made with yogurt not frozen yogurt. No where on the description of the item did it say frozen yogurt. I figured out that the parfait was in the Red Mango section of the menu but no where on the menu did it say Red Mango. So I asked if they could kindly remake the parfait but with yogurt and they said no. Even though they had plain yogurt there. It was 8 am I had no desire for frozen yogurt. Then I asked if I can get a smoothie instead and they said no. My only option was a refund. Smoothie King- update your signs and descriptions so your customers know exactly what you're offering and there's no confusion. This is the second time I've gotten a smoothie from Smoothie King, located in terminal 1 at O'hare. I fully support the SK franchise, because it's my favorite of the smoothie-genre. However, I will say that this one is quite outrageous where, for the price of a small at the airport, I could have the XXL at the various locations that I've come to love in Nashville. I got myself a Gladiator (which is what I normally get) with Vanilla protein, and added were strawberry and raspberry. Normally I go for Chocolate protein, and peanut butter with banana. But I wanted to be different this time. The smoothie is amazing, as they always are. Just wish it were a huge size for the price, or that it were cheaper. I first tried Smoothie King back on 02/04/2017. I was passing through ORD and waiting for my next flight when I came upon this place. Got a small chocolate smoothie for $5.55 - great for dessert ;). Really good texture & quality, though a bit pricey (not unusual for an airport spot ESPECIALLY not a big city one like ORD). The staff was pretty patient with my undecided self and Hitayu, the server, was helpful in making recommendations. I recommend this spot to fellow travelers. But the cardinal sin that they committed was putting unpeeled mango into it, so I unwittingly ended up with a mouthful of mango skin. It wasn't nice, suffice to say.
