Well I do love craft beer and I love how Smoky Bastard is an extension of Mr. Delicious where you can pair beautifully handcrafted meat with equally beautiful beer. They serve a wide selection of local craft beers including Sierra Madre wheat ale and of course, Katipunan beers. Another interesting concept of the Smoky Bastard is the owner's venture into microbrewing his own line of beers and making them available to an eager public. I hear the wheat ale is addicting but take caveat because it can burn a hole through your wallet.
I really do love the concept but I was extremely disappointed when I tried to use a coupon given to me at a past event. The coupon was good for about 2 beers only for Friday and Saturday nights past 9pm at the Smoky Bastard. I presented it and the guy at the counter did not accept it and gave me a whole spiel on how it is still not yet verified, etc, etc. So why give out coupons at a food tasting event if it isn't verified yet? Basically, they printed out too many and gave away too many, and now all is awry. Such a disappointment because I was so excited to try their home brews (but too broke to do so). Meh, I'll head to the Perfect Pint instead where they honor my GCs. read more
