It was pouring outside during my visit, but the waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, which definitely added to the experience. I would still love to return and try some of the other items on the menu. I especially want to experience their outdoor seating--it looks absolutely gorgeous with the lighting! My husband and I genuinely could not get over how good the biscuit was.....perfectly flaky, buttery. They also have an option covered in an espresso glaze, and it's just ridiculously good. I'm still thinking about it. Coffee was really solid (always matters), and the space itself is super cute and cozy. They also made Mickey Mouse pancakes for my daughter, and she was absolutely obsessed -- such a sweet touch and totally made her day. Westwood is a must. We'll absolutely be back.

The shrimp are fried perfectly, so big and juicy, so...so...good. Okay, on with the review. This place opened three weeks ago and is a hidden gem. They've got some Southern Staples at a great price. Try the Fried Chicken and Red Velvet Waffle, or the Shrimp Po-Boy (I've already mentioned), and the Fried Cauliflower Bites. They have daily specials, today is Barbecue Baked Chicken and Bourbon Baked Salmon. My wife had the chicken and red velvet waffles and she won't shut up about them (she keeps telling me to add that they're the best red velvet waffles she's ever had). I had the shrimp po-boy and you know how I feel about it. We also tried the mozzarella sticks (very crispy and delicious) and the arroz gandules (very good, too). I look forward to next week. While I was there I learned that the owner is a Marine Corps veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He has had his restaurant for 35 years.
