Terrible service. My family and I called at about 8pm and they told us they were open and having a wing deal. We packed the whole family in 2 cars and when we arrived, they had closed down because they "ran out of food." Totally unacceptable, especially not to tell us they were closing down an hour before we arrived. I would avoid going here if they have no idea how to run a business. read more

Let's start with the good: Our server "Nina P" was fantastic. She took great care of us. Cornbread and Butter was fantastic. Chicken Wings were very tasty. Overall food was good (but not great) Now the bad: we were sat right away but waited 10 minutes for service. It was obvious no one told Nina they had sat her section. Ordered Bone-Fire and Cornbread. Was incredibly disappointed with the amount of food we received (Cornbread portion was acceptable). Our meal looked nothing like the picture on the menu. Recently went to Smokey Bones in Rockford. Absolutely the worst experience I've had. We waited about 30 minutes for our table, so not that bad. What was outrageous was that we were seated at our table for 30 minutes without a server to be found. My grandma had to get up and ask an employee for a server. The lady said, oh yeah they will be right with you. 10 minutes later, still no server! We got up and walked out the door and went to Famous Dave's down the road. Better food and way better service. No one at Smokey Bones knows what they are doing, and their manager thinks complaints are jokes and even argues back with customers when you are choosing to walk out! I had high expectations for this restaurant. Went on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait we were seated immediately. Our server came to our table to get us drinks and very pleasant. We ordered the Corn Bread Skillet for our appetizer and it came to our table smoking hot. Unfortunately, our dinners were nowhere in the vicinity of being hot. They were lukewarm at best. I ordered the full slab of baby back ribs with coleslaw and a baked potato. The only thing hot on my plate was the potato. My sister had pulled pork and a chicken breast with coleslaw and a baked potato. The only thing hot on her plate was the potato. Interior was nice, new, and clean but exceptionally loud given that there were only 2 people at the bar and four tables being served. Service was friendly and helpful. Food though was not great. Onion rings and BBQ beans were OK but not great. The smoked jumbo chicken wings were neither smoked nor jumbo. I've had better from the deli section of my local food store. The brisket was tough and flavorless - couldn't eat it. The 1/3 rack of baby back ribs contained only 3 bones - the meat was tough and tasteless. Some of the worst ribs that I have ever had. This was the first time I'd been to Smokey Bones. I went with my Mom around 3pm on a Sunday. We each ordered a pulled pork "sammy" with fries. Service was fast and staff was very nice but the food was a disappointment. The picture is of the food I received, very few fries and all the food wasn't the cold side of lukewarm. We asked for more fries and we were given them at no charge, and my mom's sandwich was actually so cold she asked for another to replace it. I cannot say enough good about Smokey Bones! We called at 705pm with a 7:30 arrival and they were beyond accommodating for our group of 35 following a softball tournament. Brittany and McKenzie did a supurb job being our servers. We felt welcome, appreciated and important. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I understand the restaurant just opened but the reason for the poor review is how our experience was handled. We were seated quickly and our server was AMAZING, very friendly and made great suggestions. Here's where things went wrong, it took an hour and a half to get our food. First one entree was brought out and we waited about 10 minutes for the other entrees(they're new, the kitchen gets backed up, I get it). Talk to our server and get told it's on the way. Another 20 minutes passes. Still waiting. Find our server and he apologized and said he'd go back to the kitchen to see what was going on. 30 minutes goes by. We ask for a manager and while he was very nice, he just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said that the kitchen was backed up and our food would be out as soon as possible. Waited another 15 minutes, meanwhile watching tables seated after us getting their food. Finally our food comes, come to find out our server had to go back to the kitchen and help on the line because it was such a mess back there. What we ordered was good, but not sure if it's enough to come back. Advice to management, when you make a mistake, make it right by the customer, don't just shrug your shoulders and give an excuse. My fiancé and I love Smokey bones. My fiancé is a grilling aficionado and is quite particular about his wings. He loves the smoked wings and I love their grilled salmon. I especially love the smell of grilled food as you walk into the restaurant and when they walk by with yummy food. We have always had good service and the food is fabulous no matter what we order. Smokey Bones opened earlier in the week that we went. My son called and asked if I wanted to meet him there after work around 3:30. When your son calls...you go! The place was crowded, we opted to sit at the bar. We were immediately greeted, by not one, but several of the wait staff. We ordered our drinks and an appetizer, fried pickles, to start. Our pickles came out pretty quickly and someone else served them to us. Unbeknownst to us, the couple next to us had ordered fried pickles about 10 minutes before us. They gave us their fried pickles! She said something, of course, he felt bad, but encouraged her with they come out pretty quickly. It was mass chaos. People zipping everywhere, everybody taking care of everybody, people bring food out, but not knowing who it goes to. The fried pickles were tasty. We decided to order dinner and he was going to order a pick two meal of ribs and brisket. You have to wait until 4 pm to order brisket. That was about 15 minutes away. So we waited. 4 pm strikes, he puts his order in of ribs and brisket, which they cook the ribs in original sauce and ask how you want them finished. They offer a variety of sauces and a dry rub. He chose the dry rub, Cole slaw and Baked beans for a side, comes with garlic bread. He said it was all very good. I ordered the baked potato topped with brisket and it came with a side salad. It was also enjoyable. Came time to leave and our original server was so distracted making drinks, that we had to ask another server to get our check for us. Chaos. (Warning: Long review. Look for the TL;DR at the bottom if you just want to get down to brass tacks.) First, this place is AMAZING. Food, service and atmosphere were all top-notch. We came the 3rd night they were open and there was a long wait (no surprise since they just opened). The hosting staff was helpful and attentive and they were spot on with their estimations with how long our wait would be. Some wouldn't want to wait that long but, let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it. The food and drinks were delicious. I had the passion fruit lemonade. It was carbonated and fruity. For dinner, I created my own combo with the House Smoked Hand-Pulled Pork (juicy and savory) and the Slow-Smoked Spiced Sausage (a nice, spicy kick) with mashed potatoes (simple but flavorful) and fire-roasted corn (charred perfectly) for the sides. The meal also came with garlic bread. The pulled pork was delicious by itself without adding any BBQ sauce, as was the sausage. However, it's not barbecue without the sauce! They offer 4 styles: chipotle, Carolina, mustard and regular. All were good and I found myself rotating through them with each bite. The food alone would bring me back time after time. We plan to go back soon and my mouth is watering waiting to try the Texas-Style Beef Brisket and the Mac and Cheese. I can't review without talking about the service. Again, everyone at the host stand was amazingly helpful. Our server, Patricia, was very attentive. ALLERGEN NOTE: I have a food allergy. I was concerned the gravy on the potatoes might contain the allergen. I told Patricia about it and asked her to check with the kitchen and, if it had it, to leave the gravy off. I watched her make the note on her pad and she told me it was no problem. My plate came to me with no gravy which told me that they checked it and either found it had the allergen or wasn't sure but left it off either way. You wouldn't believe restaurants who don't even check or act like I'm demanding they give me their first-born just for asking them to check. (Only slightly exaggerating.) Towards the end of our meal Janine, the manger, came over to ask how everything was. I told her how we felt about the service, food and how Patricia was careful about my allergy. She was very happy to hear about our experience. We told her we really wanted to come to opening night but it was my birthday and my husband made other plans. She very kindly had a dessert sent over to our table. The dessert was their Bag of Doughnuts and it was, like everything else, delicious. It came with a berry-type sauce and a chocolate sauce and both were tasty. Last, but not least, the atmosphere. The restaurant has an open, industrial look with exposed pipes, ducts, etc. in the ceiling. We didn't go to the bar but it looked inviting from a distance. The seating was ample without feeling cramped and was very comfortable. The staff was diverse giving off a very inclusive environment. I suggest to try it asap but keep in mind they just opened and there could still be some kinks to work out so don't hold it against them! Overall, I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. Was so excited for this place to open. I use to go to one in FL and the food was always awesome.....skip ahead to dinner tonight....it sucked! The wait wasn't horrible, but did end up sitting at a high top because they were pretty full. The food took forever to get to us, and when it did, it was cold! We all had the loaded baked potato and salad. There was literally about 2 tablespoons of the brisket on my potato and it was so cold, butter did not melt. The salads on the other hand, were warm! On Friday evening 8-2-19 at your restaurant in West Chester we had a birthday celebration. the party was 25-30 people. We had one waitress, it took forever to get our food, when the food did come out some was cold and not right, so we had to send it back. @ people food had to go back 2 times because it was cold and the 3rd time they did not bring them anything. One person did not get his food until everybody had finish eating, so he wind up sending it back. The service was just plain terrible. I have ate at some not so good places, but this place is the worst yet. Never will go there again, and maybe none of them. It was just crazy. I had high hopes for this place as I have been to the Smokey Bones location in Mt. Prospect a few times while I lived out there. I raved about this place to my husband only to bring him here and be completely disappointed. The reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of the wait. I understand this is a new restaurant and opening weekend. We were told 45-60 minutes and we were willing to wait. It was the two of us plus our infant son who needed a highchair. 45 minutes comes and goes when we start to notice that parties that came in after us were being seated. I told the hostess that we didn't need the highchair if it meant that we would get a table faster. She then replied to me "we are just going in order of the list" as I was looking at it.. noticing that several parties below my name were crossed out because they had been sat. 60 minutes rolls around and I notice another couple getting upset with their wait time so the hostess seats them at the next available table. This is another couple that came in AFTER us. They were sat at a table near the host stand and my husband and I observed as the couple started to talk to the hostess.. they were offering us their table after noticing that we had been waiting longer than they had. Once we finally got sat at a table "suitable for a highchair" after I told them we could manage without one if it meant we could eat faster, I asked for the manager right away. Jeanine was very apologetic and offered us an appetizer on the house which calmed our angry nerves at the moment. Our server, Laticia, was very sweet and very attentive. My husband ordered the Smoke Stack burger cooked "a little pink" and I ordered the Morning Glory burger cooked medium. My burger came our cooked exactly as I had asked and was pretty decent tasting. My husband's burger however came out the opposite. It is a fairly larger burger with three 1/2 lb patties. Two patties were cooked medium and one was cooked almost well done. My husband was just done being upset and took our visit as a disappointment, therefore he didn't bother complaining about his over cooked burger. We probably won't be back any time soon. New place in Rockford Illinois. Wow! Great ambiance, super efficient and super observant staff. Very large venue, with plenty of supporting staff. You can see they are well trained as nobody is running around like they are going crazy and out of control. I got the Smokehouse burger. Very good. Just a bit too much sauce, made it sloppy. Next time, and there will be a next time, I will ask for light sauce. My bride had the smokehouse pulled pork and was perfect in every respect. Strawberry Lemonade way too sweet. Almost offensive in sweetness. But it was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship on presentation. Plating was excellent. Definitely a new favorite place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I know it's new, they are putting their best foot forward, but the gut feeling I have is they will weather the storm and won't just be a flash in the pan as some that have come and gone. Seated quickly at noon on a Thursday. First off, I needed to wash my hands after looking through the menu. The menu was sticky and dirty. Please pass this onto the staff to clean the menus. I ordered "The Cuban". Won't order again. Not much pork, the pork was too mushy for my taste. The pickles and cheese were not flavorful. Bun was too big for the ingredients and soggy.
