For our entrees, I ordered the "basic bitch" poutine, while my wife got the "Harlem Hanni" with a side of onion rings. Both the poutine and Hani fell short of my expectations. The poutine desperately needed salt, and the Hani was a bit dry. Like the appetizers, the onion rings were standard. If you're looking for a casual, fun place to get drinks and some bar food, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. In fact, last summer we took the in-laws who were visiting from New Orleans, to Eighteen 12 for their first poutine experience. My daughter is kind of basic, so she sticks to the original (sometimes adds bacon). My husband and I have tried a few of the more "dressed" varieties and everything has been delicious. There is nowhere to sit and eat (even pre-pandemic). It's a takeout joint. They certainly make you feel welcome while you are waiting for your order, though. We usually just take ours to the riverfront and dine at the park. They have a pretty good setup for phone ordering and pickup in the current pandemic too. Park in front of the door, call in your order, and they will summon you when it is ready for pickup. One person is allowed inside to pay and grab the order. Quick and easy!
