They took 10 minutes making recommendations, offered to bend their rules and let me do bo both brats and Italian sausage even though they have a 20 lb min for each, and got my meat back to me the next day. When they checked me out, they made some very practical recommendations on how to prep them for the freezer and thanked me for being a customer. Even though I specifically asked for al dente, and also stressed to the waitress I'd rather the pasta is undercooked than overcooked, it came out like the typical American restaurant pasta mush that dissolves in your mouth. You should be able to bite into pasta, not feel it dissolve on your tongue - besides the fact overcooked pasta has a higher glycemic index, which contributes to overeating and weight gain, and is therefore less healthy. Additionally, it was not "topped" with sauce, but rather it looked like pasta soup. And there shouldn't be so much cheese in pasta sauce that it forms strings when you raise your fork to your mouth. Way too much Parmesan cheese, so it masked the other flavors that should have been there. Since the sauce flavor was ok (but not spectacular since the primary overwhelming flavor was the Parmesan) we boxed the rest of the sauce after I attempted to finish my overcooked and texture deficient pasta. A couple nights later we cooked a full pound of pasta (correctly) at home and were able to eat four servings with the leftover sauce! So there was enough sauce in one dish for the equivalent of five people! That's just ridiculous. So our recommendation: 1) cook the pasta correctly, 2) reduce the cheese in the sauce, 3) reduce the sauce to 20% of what you currently serve - you can serve five times as many people with the same amount of sauce, and actually drop the price of this dish to something more reasonable, and you'll still come out ahead. That's our two cents from having dined in three dozen countries, all fifty states, and having even taken cooking lessons in Italy.

Just the right amount of sauce that every bite was covered in sauce but somehow it packed a punch of flavor in every bite. Nestled on a hill overlooking this beautiful lake with mountains in the background I'm struggling to paint a picture worthy of that view. Not at all, even though I would put this view as my top 2-3 ever at a restaurant ( Compared to a Michelin restaurant in Cannes France overlooking the Ocean, a restaurant at the top of a mountain in Keystone Colorado, and this place all breathtaking. I order in Anchorage all the time and this one was exactly the same. I like that dependability. It helps that their cheesesteaks (not Philly- you Alaskan weirdos- I was born in Philly, Philly is a place not a fucking sandwich) are perfect. Since moving to Alaska from Jersey a decade and a half ago, I have been longing for a proper cheesesteak. This is as close as you are going to get, minus the stupid red peppers, which ABSOLUTELY MUST BE OMITTED. They do NOT belong on the sandwhich and ruin the entire flavor profile. Thankfully the app makes it very easy to modify your sandwich to your preferences. What I think is the true proof of the quality of the sandwich is if it needs condiments. This sub does not. I typically drown my cheesesteaks in ketchup. But this sandwich has the perfect balance of cheese and meat, and the meat had an excellent flavor with no gross chewy pieces. I have a really REALLY bad meat aversion, so bad that I was a vegetarian for 5.5 years, because I can't deal with tendons and miscellaneous meat appearances in my meal. But my love of cheesesteaks is literally what brought me back to carnivorous lifestyle. I'd die in a sword death for a proper cheesesteak. And Jersey Mike's has it going on.
