We have ordered Silver and Sockeye salmon retorts (fillets) and the Sockeye salmon jars. While the fillets are great, the jars are simply out of this world good. Shipping can be expensive so be smart about your order to get the best rate for the box. A group of us went in on an order the last time and it worked out well. You might want to plan your order ahead. They had everything I wanted to order the 2 times I've ordered from them but the site says they run out... If you ever have a chance to stop in, do so! We stopped in this summer on our trip to Alaska and it was worth the stop. They have a funky little shop off the main drag through Wasilla. Since it's our first time, we didn't have any experience shipping home 40 lbs of fish! On our way back to Anchorage, we researched processors that can prepare and package the fish so we can bring it back on the plane with us to CA. The first facility was very busy and the lady said that the person doing the processing didn't show up that day! We were in Anchorage for just a few hours that day and it was getting late so we had to find another facility. That's when we learned about Alaska Sausage and Seafood! As soon as we got there, someone met with us and explained the process, arranged to prepare and get the fish ready for us to take home a few days later (we had a few more days to spend in Denali before heading back to Anchorage to catch our flight). They even had a freezer to store the fish so we can pick it up outside of their business hours. How convenient! We got an email a day before our flight letting us know that our salmon was ready to be picked up. The customer service is 5 out of 5 stars! I'm not sure if it was more expensive or not but I'm guessing that it was but it didn't matter because I needed to buy it. I also picked up a jar of jerk seasoning that my friend said was good but didn't check the expiration date. It expired in May 2019 when I bought it in August 2019. It's a shame they don't check their own inventory on the shelves for expired items. Oh well. Lesson learned. The cashier behind the counter was nice but she balked at our choice of ice cream place that we mentioned we were headed to. She said her spot was better but we weren't going that way. But it's conveniently located and enables you to not go home empty-handed.
