We had a great experience at Smoke & Glory and definitely came hungry because we wanted to try as much of the menu as possible. The Tamarindo Chiltepin wings were an immediate standout. The sauce was one of the tastiest and most unique wing sauces I've had in a very long time. I would absolutely order those again. We also tried the Brisket Burnt Ends & Jalapeño Mac 'N Cheese, which was rich, smoky and perfect for sharing, along with the Wedge Salad. For our mains, we ordered two Pick Two Combos so we could sample almost everything, including the Texas sausage, prime brisket, pulled pork and smoked chicken. For sides, we tried the coleslaw, BBQ beans, Brussels sprouts and jalapeño cornbread. It was a great way to get a little taste of everything and find our favorites. The atmosphere is casual, lively and very much a BBQ-meets-sports-bar experience, with plenty of TVs and a fun energy that would be especially great for watching a game with friends. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and everything came out nicely paced despite how much food we ordered. The good: Fries (not homemade, but still good), and there was plenty of meat on the Beef Ribs. Sadly, there wasn't much flavor (seasoning), although they were VERY TENDER-the meat literally fell off of the bone! The BBQ sauce was okay. As for the Beef Ribs and sauce, they don't compare to Phil's BBQ, at all. The bad: Neither of my children liked the buns on their burgers. The Nashville Chicken Sandwich lacks flavor, as did the Potato Salad. The macaroni & cheese was terrible (unless you like only noodles and velvetta sauce). Finally, the service needs improvement. Not only did my to-go order come out incorrectly, but the burger also wasn't cooked to order (well done) as requested. Our waitress completely disappeared after taking our to go order. Customer service was GREAT, food was ok, atmosphere was challenging as we had to fight flies off of our table! WE WAS NOT A FAN!!! We ordered a couple of bbq plates. Bbq plate 1 - half rack of ribs, potato salad, and mac and cheese and it came with toast. Bbq plate 2 - brisket and ribs with bake beans and mac and cheese. Wings - habanero flavor Ribs were fall of the bone tender. Brisket was extremely moist and tender, cooked to perfection! Mac and cheese were extremely creamy (even eaten hours later) but, lacked cheese flavor in my opinion. I did not try the potato salad but, was told it was good. Wings were extremely dry...NOT A FAN AT ALL! Even though they were habanero sauced wings, they were not spicy at all. The baked beans, now let's talk about these baked beans...ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I don't even like beans like that but, these beans were SO GOOD!!!! Their house bbq sauce was just ok. If I did come back (which is questionable)...it would have to be during winter or fall. Anytime other than summer time cause the fly situation is a NO GO FOR ME! They even had huge fans blowing and that still did not deter flies from joining us at the table! I have to say I was disappointed and so was my wife plus our friend. The server wasn't properly trainer he wasn't rude but he come out chewing on some food and he didn't ask about water? we ask about the food he was very vague With the menu I asked about what in the Cowboy Caviar after he said it does have caviar too Uh caviar??? Corn,tomatoes, and onion beans, and caviar what? The side were okay but our Bbq came out so quick and the server was not good on asking about us if needed any or another beverage?? Nope! Absolutely loved this place and very happy with both the food and service. We came in on 4th of July, so it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar, so we placed our order with the bartender who was extremely kind and friendly. Unfortunately, the food did take about 20 minutes to come out and when it finally did, there was a misunderstanding with our order and one incorrect item was brought out. The bartender handled it amazingly and offered us another round of drinks on her for the mistake. We were very impressed and grateful for the way it was handled and the correct item was brought out pretty quickly after that. The brisket burrito was so flavorful and absolutely stuffed! The pork ribs were some of the best I've had and just fell off the bone. We were so full, but the food was just so amazing that we couldn't stop eating! My only complaint about the food would be the mac n cheese. It tasted just like Kraft box mac so that was disappointing. With how delicious the rest of the food was, I definitely feel like they could change it and elevate it a bit. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming here again when we're in town and trying some different items on the menu. My server was Patty who did an excellent job making sure my drink was always full and very attentive, 5/5 service! I am on summer break and when one of my long time friends, who I met at my first school teaching, said let's meet up for lunch, I said let's go to 3rd Ave. We kinda wandered around and since she lives in the area, she mentioned that a new BBQ place opened next to Farmer's Table. So we walked over to look. No one approached us at the hostess stand, so we wandered over to the BBQ side. The workers all said hello and we could sit anywhere we wanted. You don't have to twist my arm! Johanna brought us some water and said to take our time since we told her it was our first time here. There's some good choices on the menu, but like Emmet mentioned, I too expected to see brisket and tri-tip as entrees. But we decided to ordered a few things in order to try them out. The nachos with chicken were great! I love me some Velveeta! The way it melts and its creaminess...so good! We then had the Garden Salad, which was new on the menu. So new, Johanna didn't know about it either...LOL! Love the presentation and the strawberries and pomegrante seeds really pull the rest together. Also very healthy, which we loved. We also had the brisket flatbread. This was soooooo good! The flavors worked well together. Though Tami asked for no cilantro, it was still good! I did wonder about with it, so maybe next time! Well overall, it was good. The beef rib was tender and meaty. The coleslaw had enough size on the cabbage to convince me that they actually made it. The mac and cheese was also good......but not amazing. It's like they put enough sauce to make it cheesy, but were afraid to make it too cheesy. The ribs were tender, but I found the flavor to be rather understated. There was so little seasoning that I asked for salt and pepper. The barbecue sauce on it was also kinda plain. For a place called Smoke and Glory, I found it to be not smoky at all and very "safe" in the presentation of its flavors. This is unusual because my most common complaint about ribs are that they had good umami, but were too tough. They seem to try to sell this kielbasa sausage to everyone. Aside from the large size, it was just okay. I wasn't the biggest fan of the texture. The toast that comes with it is also fine, but nothing spectacular. I might actually like this more as a bar than a BBQ joint. It's true that the Farmer's Table next door seems to get far better business while it's open and really sticks out. However, once you turn the corner at the wall, Smoke & Glory immediately feels like its own hideout and also has a unique vibe. I also liked the blueberry old fashioned I ordered. Came here for dinner on a Friday night with 3 other people and got seated right away. The exterior and interior had awesome metal art and had a good vibe. There's inside and outside seating available. It's right next to an Italian restaurant, Acqua E Farina, which we were told is owned the same people. Smoke & Glory opened up about 3 months ago and I think it's got a lot of potential and people just don't know about it yet, hence why it wasn't packed on a Friday night. Everything we had were tasty. The pork ribs was tender, juicy and fall off the bone. You can ask for their standard sauce or their habanero sauce to give it a little kick. The other food we ordered were fish tacos, mac & cheese, potato salad, beans and a burger. Everything was excellent and flavorful. Those beans were fireeee! You have to try them out. Our server, Frank, was attentive, friendly and really made our experience even more pleasant. There's a full bar and draft beers for extra bonus. TVs all around for those game nights. Our experience was so good that we've began spreading the word and will definitely be back again! What a pleasant surprise! The wings were smoked to perfection, the brisket sandwich was seasoned perfectly and the veggie choices work so well with the meat! Somehow the 2 servers were able to tackle the entire restaurant and the wait time was minimal. Only reason I couldn't give it a 5 was because of the BBQ sauce. I enjoyed a very good BBQ lunch from this new BBQ House in Chula Vista. I ordered the Beef Ribs Nachos, the Smoked Pork Spare Ribs, and an order of Wings. For my ribs, I had the side of onion rings and the Pork Belly Wings. The smoked ribs were great. The meat was super tender and fell off the bones easily. It was well seasoned and offer a nice smoke flavor. The penetration of the smoke was very evident based on the pinkish color of the meat. Great smoke ring. The onion rings were abundant and crispy. They came with whole onions inside and were tasty. The pork belly beans were good, but I would have liked a little more pieces of pork belly in the beans. As for the wings, the server recommended the Tamarindo Chiltepin sauce, which was a great choice. The flavor of the sauce was great. It was a little sweet and had a very good flavor. The wings were tender and meaty. The nachos were good. They definitely do not hold back on the toppings. The tortilla chips are made in house and are of the thicker casero variety or homemade. They were well seasoned. Did I love the idea of Velveta cheese on my nachos? Probably not, but it worked here. The cheese was creamy and easily ladled onto the tortilla chips. The nachos are definitely meant for sharing, given their size. The beef meat was very tender and tasty. The service was friendly. I liked that they took the time to make suggestions and go over the menu in a casual manner. It was not rushed, so I had to relax before I ordered. They are located right next door to Farmer's Table and Acqua E Farina and are open for lunch and dinner. They have a great happy hour, too. Smoke & Glory is located in a Chula Vista suite adjacent to a popular brunch restaurant. You can park in the structure behind the building where there were plenty of open spots. There was a large outdoor space with picnic tables if you wanted to dine al fresco. The inside seating featured ten high chairs around a bar along with tables and booths. The ambiance resembled a cross between a barn and a lodge. Happy Hour was offered between 2 and 5 pm daily. A separate menu was dedicated for that time period with discounts on twelve food choices, draft beers, well drinks, and cocktails. The main menu was divided into appetizers and BBQ plates in the left column. Burgers, sandwiches, a hot dog, and a burrito were in the middle of the page. Salads, flatbread, sides, and family combos made up the right column. To my disappointment, there were only three BBQ Plate choices... Smoked Chicken, Smoked BBQ Pork Rib, and Smoked BBQ Dino Beef Rib. Nearly every barbeque joint I have visited offers brisket and pulled pork by the pound. This place made those meats available only as a sandwich. It shouldn't be difficult to modify the menu to sell those two items a la carte or as part of a plate. My selection was the Smoked BBQ Dino Beef Rib (1 bone) plate which came with two small sides. I picked the Mac and Cheese and Pork Belly Beans. A metal tray was delivered to my table with pickled onions, a dill pickle, and a couple of pieces of bread as sides. The bone was large with plenty of sauced meat. The tenderness was okay, but I have experienced better "fall off the bone." The mac and cheese was creamy. The beans were contained in a salty, watery gravy that resembled a soup. The service was hit and miss as I placed my order at the bar when no server came by my table. The staff did check up on me after delivering the food. For the quality and price of what I tried, I gave a rating between three and four stars for Smoke & Glory. read more

First time trying Smoke & Glory BBQ located on F Street in Chula Vista, CA. The restaurant opened its doors in February of 2026 and it's next to Farmer's Table. Both restaurants have the same owner. Smoke and Glory BBQ is Kansas City style BBQ & NOT Texas style BBQ very different flavor. I prefer Texas style but there's a following in San Diego for Kansas City style BBQ. We really enjoyed the following and would order again: -TJ Nachos with beef ribs. It had pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeños, velveeta cheese and Oaxacan cream (5/5) stars. -Bread Pudding dessert (5/5) stars it was OUTSTANDING! It had ice cream and blueberry sauce. A must try!! -Smoke BBQ Pork Ribs (6) with cole slaw and pork belly beans in BBQ sauce. The sides were excellent!! I'm not a fan of Kansas City style BBQ especially, their sauce. I found my rib order a bit dry, but you may enjoy this plate. I rate the ribs (4/5) stars. There's indoor and outdoor seating with screens TV's to watch your favorite sports game. They have a lot of room for large groups. Happy hour is daily from 2pm-5pm, $6 draft beers, $10 House Cocktails. We had excellent customer service by our server Jose and manager Denise who took the time to come over to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. The service was a 5/5 stars and restaurant was very clean. The staff worked together as a team to clean our table and refill our drinks which we really appreciated. First time at this new spot and I'm seriously impressed! A couple TVs outside and several more inside to catch all the sports, including the current FIFA games. The barbecue was legit - the pastrami sandwich had the perfect serving size. We also tried the pork ribs, Cali Burrito with brisket, and even a veggie burger with sweet potato waffle fries . If you're outside, flies can be a bit of a nuisance since it's an open-air venue, but there's also indoor seating with a full bar. Our server was prompt and never pushy, making us feel right at home. From what I understand, it used to be more farm-to-table, but now it's like 3 concepts in one which is actually pretty cool. Gives you options depending on what you're craving. Excellent first visit. Every staff member we spoke to was welcoming, and our server Patty was friendly, helpful, and took great care of us--her advice on both food and drinks was spot on. The food lives up to the name. Their take on street corn was an excellent appetizer with a great, spicy bite. The beef "dino rib" was tender and full of flavor, and our sides--onion rings and pork belly baked beans--were both excellent. For drinks, we had the Los Altos and the Mesquite & Stone; both were good, with the Mesquite & Stone leaning sweeter and the Los Altos carrying a strong smoky note. One thing worth knowing going in: the drinks, BBQ, and sides all lean hard into the "smoke" theme. The food is excellent, but if you're expecting the sweeter flavor profile common at other BBQ spots, calibrate accordingly--there's a reason they put "smoke" in the name. The only minor note is that it's also a sports bar, so it ran a little louder than I'd prefer--but that's personal preference more than a knock. I noticed a new bbq had opened in Chula Vista and I gave them a try.  The setup confused me.  The entrance has signs for Farmer's Table and Smoke & Glory.  There was a huge line for Farmer's Table on a Sunday at 11am but I was the only one in Smoke & Glory which was the left part of the building. There was the delicious scent of bbq in the air.  I started with a complimentary soda water.  It was not good.  Tasted like half regular water and half soda water.  Made me long for Costco.  They have really good soda water now that the Coke machines are back. Kielbasa sausage was tender and juicy.  Full of flavor and a bit of heat.  This was likely the best part of my meal. Fries were crispy and had a nice fried potato flavor.  I expected them to be hot out of the fryer but they were more lukewarm like they had been sitting out for a bit.  I tried to order onion rings but they were out. 2 beef ribs were huge and made for 2 meals.  Beef was extremely tender and moist.  Very good quality beef.  I liked the sweet sauce that was glazed on top.  Overall flavor was very light.  I would have liked more smoky aroma and more dry rub.  I usually get beef ribs at Julian Beer Company where their ribs have a ton of smoky flavor and a ton of peppery dry rub.  Ribs were also lukewarm.  I prefer them hot out of the smoker.  I tried the bbq sauce from the bottle but it didn't taste as good as the bbq sauce that had caramelized on the ribs.  I took most of the ribs home and reheated them.  They tasted better at the proper temperature. Staff was nice but not very informative as when I asked what kind of wood they smoke with and was told they use wood.  Smoke a& Glory could be really good with better quality control. My husband and I decided to come try this place out during San Diegos restaurant week. I came across this place off a tiktok and it looked great. We were able to sit ourselves as we walked to the booths the tables were dirty in fact we had to ask the server to please wipe our tables down. We ordered our drinks again EMPTY restaurant why did our drinks get poured and then just left at the bar while the server walked away and the other server was talking to who appeared was an employee from the neighboring restaurant? We watched our drink sit there for several minutes including flys going towards it. We decided to go for their offer of $45 included appetizers, entrees, & desserts. Food was cold, pulled pork and brisket was dry and cold. We had just gotten our entrees when the server asked if we were ready for dessert? I asked if he can wait as we were not ready he said he waited as long as he could but the icecream was melting. Why are you serving dessert with icecream if your table is not even half way done with their entrees? We felt as if we were rushed through our meal. Especially if the dessert involves icecream the server should ask first before having kitchen prep it. 3/10 - The restaurant is tucked in a cute area of downtown Chula Vista attached to Farmer's Table. The vibes were great and the ?manager was super nice. My husband was craving BBQ so we wanted to try out this place before our concert. Our mouths were watering driving here, since we meticulously looked at the menu and saw previous photos of large portions and juicy fall-off-the bone meat. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Not sure if the quality and quantity would be different if we sat down to eat, but we received our to-go tray and was disappointed to find the $40 Dino rib to be a singular tiny rib and small portioned. We also did not receive the mountain of fries that we saw in the online reviewer photos. The Mac and cheese tasted very artificial cheese. And the Dino rib meat was very dry and surprisingly NOT slathered in BBQ Sauce. We had to go back to ask for BBQ sauce on the side... and the BBQ sauce was probably the most watery BBQ sauce I ever had. The best item in our combo tray was the BREAD! The bread was soooo fresh and delicious, I need to know who the baker or supplier is. This is a new bbq spot that just opened up in Chula Vista in the same building as Farmer's Table. I went during the weekday for lunch and the staff was very attentive and had good service. The food came out pretty quickly as well. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich which comes with fries, pickle, and red onions. The bbq chicken sandwich was really flavorful and super filling. The chicken is shredded with texture reminding of a pulled pork sandwich and it was not dry at all. The cole slaw gave a nice refreshing crunch to the sandwich. They give generous portions and it's a large hefty sandwich for only $16! There are plenty of seats indoor and outdoor and it is a very clean place. I really enjoyed the food here and will come back to try their other menu items! For parking I recommend using the parking garage next door which has 3 hours free and plenty of spots. read more

I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the ribs and brisket with sides of beans and coleslaw. Both the brisket and ribs were flavorful. The meat was tender and fell off the bone. Came here for happy hour and really enjoyed this place. It is right next to farmers table and there is plenty of parking in the back. I tried the bbq rib plate with 6 bones, the half bbq chicken plate and the pulled pork sandwich which comes with fries. All were good, but i prefer the rib plate over the bbq chicken. The sandwich was good. The sides I enjoyed were the coleslaw and the Mac and cheese. The side of beans was decent as well. We also ordered corn bread which was not on the menu ($15), but it was just okay....more sweet than I would like. Service was good. The only downside was that the benches outside were extremely uncomfortable. I hope they upgrade to better seating. The other was that we had to ask for the happy hour menu instead of it being offered initially. read more

Wife and I, and our 2 poochies have been there 5 times since we have found this place about 2 months ago. We used to hit a few different spots on 3rd Ave consistently, but have only dined here since discovering this place. We have tried about 10-15% of the menu, and every item has been great and most of them fantastic. The wings are the best we've ever had! We order em crispy, naked, and sauces on the side. We was hoping to find a local spot for BBQ so we came here with high hopes. We got here around 3:30pm and I had not ate all day so the odds were looking good we would like this place. They didn't have many options for BBQ plates. I was hoping for maybe a rib, tri tip, brisket, pulled pork, etc combo but nope. All they had for plates was BBQ ribs or BBQ chicken. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich. I failed to see that it had coleslaw in it. Not a huge fan of coleslaw BUT I figured let's try it the way it was made. And it actually was good. Nothing to write home about. Bread was real good (5 stars) pulled pork was okay (3stars) sauce was okay (3 stars) and with the coleslaw, I would say overall like 3.5 stars My side was onion rings (3.5 stars) Also got a side of bbq pork beans. A bit watery for me. Maybe 3 stars. My daughter was craving bbq ribs and I tried them. Maybe 3 stars. Not "fall off the bone" soft or tender. NGL, my wife's ribs are better. 3 stars Atmosphere was okay, kinda empty at this time. Doubt we will come back. So many better options within a driving distance but glad I t read more
