If you want an extremely wonderful experience getting a Star Smog Check, this is the place you need to go. Alex is the Manager and he took care of my. In less than 15 minutes the test was done, I got my paperwork and registered my car foremother year. By far, this is the best place to get a smog check. Reasonable prices, friendly people and great service. Standing outside this place right now 12/12/15 at 8: 30am and I've been here since 8am. There is no one here. I checked yelp and their website, both say this place open at 8am. Theres 2 other cars waiting here too. I think 1 guy is about to leave. So far not up to a great start. Sure hope the actually show up soon. **UPDATE** The guy shows up a 8:45am. He seems really nice. He first quoted me $58. But then i mentioned Yelp and my price came down to $33.20. I filled out some paperwork and now I'm having to wait 10 minutes since another car was here before me. Overall not the best smog check experience. But its quick i suppose. read more

Stated online said that they opened at 8:30, I arrived at 8:40. Nobody was there that could smog my car, and the man working at the gas station said they don't actually arrive until 9. One stars for the guy that was there, he's very nice, but I still need a smog check. read more

My car passed the emissions test but failed the visual inspection because the guy claimed it was missing a sensor on the exhaust pipe. Charge was $79 and I would be charged $40 for a second test after repairs. My mechanic informed me that my model never had that sensor and that he had seen this issue with this guy before. Took it to another smog check place and it passed handily. read more

If you could give a sixth star to a place, this would be it! If you're looking to get smog testing done for your car, just stop looking and head on to this place. I called up and talked with Marwan to see if I needed to make an appointment. He said just show up and you should be fine. He said to give him around 15 minutes since they had to keep the car running for a certain amount of time to get the readings. I went the next day, and fortunately there were no other cars waiting. Marwan had his gloves and mask on (COVID-19), and within 10 minutes the test was done. The quickest and easiest test I have done! He was very courteous and pleasant to talk with. Everyone should know that the computer's memory gets cleared and you can't complete the test if you need to replace the battery (or disconnect it temporarily.) you'll need to drive for a week or two before the computer has enough data about how the car is driving. Many other stations will do a one time retest for free. Not so here. Note that there is an extra fee for the certificate here. It looked cheaper, but overall cost would have been less if I had gone somewhere with a free retest. I've been here a few times and they are usually pretty quick - just depends if other people decide to smog check the same time you do. read more

THE place to go. Don't even consider any other place. Done. This place is F. A. S. T. This time, with nobody else there, it took me 10 minutes. Max. Mohammed might seem a little gruff at first, but he's got a heart of gold. You can also get gas, but this is a smog station first, which is why they are so fast. Super quick and easy on a Sunday morning (opens at 10am). It took about 10 minutes to get everything checked out and approved for a 2012 car. I quickly paid and was on my way. A word on pricing: the normal rate is roughly $50 plus $8 for the certificate itself. Show then the photo of the coupon posted on the Yelp listing, and they will knock off $20 from the price and suggest that you leave them a five star review. I'm happily giving them 5 stars regardless. read more

So this is kind of an unusual place, because when I showed up nobody was there and the guys at the gas station to which it is attached told me that th smog check is a completely different building (it's actually the other side of the same building, so I think they meant a different business). I hung around for another 5-10 minutes and it turned out that the guy who handles the smog check had been helping someone who locked himself out of his car, so I can't really blame him for that. The guy working there was a little gruff, but he gave me the Yelp discount when I asked for it, and once he got started the process was pretty quick and smooth. Just avoid the gas station next door, because they are unhelpful and really not at all nice. But I would go back to the smog check place, which is pretty near to where I live. read more

Came in at 4:24, inspector took me right in and had me start my car and leave it running as he performed his inspection. I also had forgot my dmv renewal notice but that didn't slow down the process. I will definitely recommend anyone around the area to come especially my fellow Berkeley students. Did the Yelp deal. $29 for the inspection plus $8 in total it was $38.20 and I left at 4:30! Don't waste your time, because they don't mind wasting it for you. I showed up here at 1:45 on an afternoon, the technician was nowhere to be found. I inquired in the convenience store and was told to look in his car. Apparently he was sitting in his hot car in the parking lot. The windows were blacked out and there was a sunscreen in the windshield. Who could know what he was doing in there... I knocked on the window and there was no response. Another customer showed up who had been waiting for an half an hour before I got there. The technician "Alex" got out of his car, quickly talked to the other customer and got back in his car. When I went in to the service Bay he jumped out of his car and said you can't come in here. Then he got back in his car and closed the door.. 20 minutes later he comes out and asks me what did I want. I said "Smog Check". Then he said well I'm going to lunch I'll be back in 45 minutes. He could have told me this 30 minutes before, so yes my time was wasted for no reason whatsoever, avoid this place at all costs. read more

I suspect that this shop shares customer information with thieves who steal catalytic converters. 2 days after my Prius was checked here and passed smog check (with original catalytic converter), the converter was stolen from my car at night while it was parked outside of my house. I've been parking in this spot with no issues for 8 years. The shop had my home address and knew that my car had its original converter without a shield and it would be easy to steal. read more

Mohammed was so efficient, friendly, and professional! I came in today without an appointment and was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I actually didn't find the Yelp coupon until after he had started my car service, but he still gave me the discount which was super great! After he finished the service, he also took the time to walk me through the process of renewing my vehicle which was nice because I'm rather new to the process. I attempted to get a smog test done. When I asked the attendant to honor their price posted on Yelp, I was told that it would be an extra $10 to remove an engine cover. I have never seen a smog technician remove this particular cover when checking this vehicle. I told him I would remove the cover myself. I then realized that I did not have the tool to remove it with me, so I drove back to my house and removed the cover. When I returned, I got there 10 minutes before they're closing time, although there was no one else there, so I figured I would be good. The technician waited three minutes to come talk to me, then poked around with the computer and told me he was locked out for the day. All in all total waste of my time, I will be going somewhere else to get my smog checking done. I'll put the engine cover back on and see if the other guys actually need to remove it... read more

Dishonest. Their website has a coupon for $39.95, regular price $49.95. They refused to honor the coupon, and charged $59.95 saying that was the new "regular price." The guy said he would not honor the coupon because I did not mention it until after he started service, even though the coupon does not include that limitation. (It says "Must Print or Show Coupon On Phone," not "before service begins.") I asked so if I had shown it a minute ago you would charge me $39.95, but instead you're going to charge $59.95? He said yes, those were direct instructions from his boss and that it "happens every day." And on top of that, he was a jerk about it. I have left a message trying to reach the boss.
