Earlier this week, I needed a smog test on my 2017 Ford Edge. Being new to the area, I searched for a shop nearby with favorable fees. Smog Axis' website displayed a coupon for $36.75, "most cars 2000 & up", "Regular smog check + cert". RECOMMENDATION: If you plan to get your car smogged at this shop, be sure to call ahead to see if your car qualifies for such an offer. Turns out that my Edge is an "SUV" and not a "Car", therefore the quote for my Edge was $58.00. The technician encouraged me to go to another place. Don't go there. my car never failed smog, all original equipment, and this guy fails visual because according to him the catalysts look like they are not the same size. upset because i never replaced my catalytic before. he basically took my money and wasted my time. This place was great!!! I had an awesome experience. I needed to get a smog check on my car done fast but it was hard to find a place that opens pass 5:30. I work in Delano until 5 so the shop owner offer to stay open pass 5:30 in order to do the smog check on my car. He gave me a good price ($40) and he finished within 15 minutes!!! Went to get my car smogged in order to get my tags for my car and as I go to head over to Smog Axis, after calling around a dozen other smog check places & finding this one to be THE BEST PRICE IN TOWN...Oops, sorry, I digress. Anyway, I go out to my car and it won't start...WHAT??!?! So, I get it jumped by a friendly neighbor & as I'm driving into the Smog shop I notice my Check Engine light is on. I explain to the very kind, sweet man that greets me that, I just had it jumped, & I NEVER have ANY problems with my car (it's a Toyota). I try turning it off & back on, thinking it would clear the light. However, when I tried to turn it back on...NOTHING!! UGH!!! The gentleman was VERY kind & thoughtful & jumped my car, letting me know that my car would NOT pass with the check engine light on. I found that to be VERY THOUGHTFUL that he told me told me that rather than running the test & charging me when it failed. I went and exchanged my battery for a new one, since I figured this was my problem. A friend of mine installed it for me & 1st thing the next morning I headed back 2 Smog Axis. He was SO FAST getting to me, it only about 15 mins. Unfortunately, it didn't pass. The owner took the time to explain to me that it was only because of the new battery, apparently it takes a while to reset the car's computer system. So...I left and drove for over 80 miles & then went back AGAIN 2 Smog Axis. The owner came out and asked how far I drove. He actually hooked my car up to a machine to make sure it would pass before I had to pay again. FINALLY!!!! Good 2 go! I can't say enough about how happy I am with how I was treated, professionally & kindly. The owner was more interested in helping me rather than taking advantage of me, since I'm female. I will tell EVERYONE about Smog Axis & refer ALL my friends!! read more

Definitely recommend this place if you need a smog. Wait time wasn't long at all. About 20-30 minutes. Office smog place and good price. This is the first time I've had to do a smog and it's been a pretty good experience so far. Lobby isn't to big but not a bad place to wait. Definitely coming back here when I need another smog done. read more
