After reading all the previous reviews, I decided to take a chance here since the shop is near my home. We just drove in; no one else was waiting. The owner greeted us and filled out the papers, chatted for a bit, did the work, and we were out in 15 minutes or so. He wasn't wearing a mask, but he didn't complain about ours. We did get some political views about the ruination cause by Pelosi, the VP, and Democrats in general. Thanks to the reviews, my wife and I knew just to nod and agree. So, my advice would be to cover up your Biden for President stickers, don't wear an NPR or BLM T-shirt, start the visit saying something positive, and avoid politics if you're not a strong conservative. read more

I called my vicinity for a reasonable price and walk-in accommodation for a smog check. Bakersfield Smog was a reasonable price, accepted walk-ins, and was less than 5 minutes away. If you wear your feeling on your sleeve you probably should go somewhere else. I have been here several times. I get my Smog and go. You can tell by the citations on the wall he doesn't enjoy the california regulations. He's actually a great person that's been in the business too long but too committed to do anything else at his age. I enjoy the harsh attitude. It's a real reality check for me. HE TREATS ME LIKE IM BUGGING HIM.. and then he tells me that a 1999 vehicle is too old for him to smog so he has to re-calibrate his machine... says it will be 30 min... so I go get b- fast and come back.. 2 customers waiting and then tells me that his machine failed...this guy is a real piece of work...
