On our way to Zion National Park from LA, we made a stop in Henderson to grab gas and food. Yelp recommended SMKD BBQ, and after seeing the reviews and photos, we decided to give it a shot. We arrived around 1:33 PM on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy, but there was a steady flow of people coming in and out. The service and ambiance were amazing. Everyone looked happy and seemed to be enjoying their meals. Holy crap -- the food was GOOD Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for some great BBQ. Our first order: * Sliced Brisket * Mojo Chicken * Brussels Sprouts * Cole Slaw * Marble Cornbread Second order: * Pig Candy * Sausage * Banana Pudding They've only been open for several months now, and I wish them all the luck in the world. So far, they're doing amazing

This review is based on a first-time visit on 5/6/26. I arrived for lunch at 1:30 with a party of 6 and asked if I could stake out some space for us at one of their large communal tables. We all placed our orders once everyone arrived, and proceeded to chow down. I was really happy to see that the menu had a section for "Green Stuff" and proceeded to order the Kale Caesar with Brisket (I can't go to a BBQ place without getting their brisket), along with an order of their Marble Cornbread. The Kale Caesar had a lovely dressing - bright and perfect for the kale. The brisket was a teeny bit dry, but had a lovely smoky flavor, which rounded out the salad nicely. The order cornbread was generous... so much so that I had to ask if that was one or two orders. It was buttery and dessert-adjacent without being overly sweet. Yum! Others in my party raved about their food too. The chicken in particular got a nice shout out, and we all left full and happy, AND with leftovers in to-go boxes. Loved SMKD, would definitely eat here again!

This joint is hands down the best barbecue we've had in the henderson area, and definitely could be included in a conversation for best in vegas. Our expectations were absolutely shattered. We had tried to come to this place once before for a dessert we saw online, however they were sold out. We made a mental note to visit again if we were in the area, and I am sure glad we did. The experience started off great, when walking in we were greeted by a very friendly woman and the pit master himself who made some conversation and gave us some of his recommendations as first timers. I ordered the 2 meat 2 side combo, brisket and the pig candy with mac n cheese and creamed corn. She ordered the 1/4 chicken and potato salad. Immediately upon receiving the food I was impressed and knew we were in for a good meal. The brisket was tender and delicious, the chicken was cooked to a smoky and moist perfection, but for me the pig candy was the star of the show, I can confidently say no barbecue place we've been to is doing anything like that, do yourself a favor and order it. The sides were equally excellent, I find a-lot of times bbq places excel on one side, either the meat or the sides, this place makes an exception and cracked the code on both. The mac n cheese was excellent, the creamed corn was exactly what I wanted, and if you like pickles or dill flavor 100% order the potato salad. One aspect I especially think this place shines in, is that they aren't afraid to make the food how they think it should be done, every one of the meats had a little extra flavor either from an additional seasoning, or from a sauce. Most places stick to the traditional way things are made and that is fine but its very safe, when you add something to classic barbecued meats like these that shows confidence in your skill and the product you put out as a chef and as a business. I wish more places would throw their own flair on stuff and make it exciting and exclusive to themselves like this place does. The restaurant itself was very clean, comfortable, well kept and very organized, everything is right where you want and expect it to be. I wanted to make a section of this review just for the woman who came around to the tables, she was one of the most friendly restaurant staff members we've ever come across. Whatever you are paying her, pay her more because she deserves it. This place isn't just a if you are in the area, this place is worth a trip from anywhere in the vegas valley. Well done smkd, well done.

SMKD BBQ is the bomb! I was recently working in the Las Vegas area and staying in Henderson. I tried four different highly rated BBQ places in the area. SMKD won hands down! They have great sides, I tried the dirty beans and Mac and cheese, so good! I had the chopped pork and it was delicious to the last mouthful! Service was excellent, including fist bumps. Everyone there was very nice and had a very inviting feel to it. I'm going back soon to try the brisket! If you haven't tried them what are you waiting for?

Came to SMKD again. The Brisket is incredible and the creamed corn has something special that keeps you wanting more. This is for sure my BBQ spot especially when I'm in Henderson. Hopefully they come toward the NW part of town where I reside. If you want some good quality food, SMKD is where you need to be!

Food: 4/5 Dessert (bonus!): 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Ok, we had the family feast at a whole $118, worth every penny. This came with all meats minus the ribs, I think we did get some baby back ribs though. All the sides and dessert! Did I mention there was 5 of us and we couldn't finish it? The meats: Brisket, burnt ends, pastrami, mojo chicken, pulled pork and rib tips. The sides: coleslaw, Mac and cheese, baked beans, hush puppies, creamed corn, a singular Kugel, collard greens, potato salad and fries. They got the brisket right, juicy and tender with a decent smoke flavor, so well done on that. I enjoyed the pastrami the best, thick cut, really good flavor. While the others like the burnt ends and the pulled pork. The only negative there were the rib tips (I think) were rather burnt and inedible. All the sides were REALLY good. Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, hush puppies were sweet potato hush puppies, frickin amazing. All the sides, chef's kiss! Kid 1 is making me mention the kugel was amazing, she could have eaten 10 more. For the desserts, banana pudding, cookie w/ice cream and key lime pie. The kids enjoyed the key lime pie tangy without being overwhelming, husband liked the cookie (which was an everything cookie) and I liked the pudding. So those were a hit as well. We will be back again!

Finding genuinely good BBQ in Las Vegas can be a challenge, with many places struggling to hit the mark. SMKD BBQ is a welcome addition. The location is incredibly convenient with easy parking, and you are immediately greeted by the smell of the smoker and the sight of the Pitmaster at work; a perfect way to set expectations. The line moved efficiently, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, which is always a standout quality in this city. The menu is lively and packed with solid offerings, covering all the bases from brisket and links to wings and ribs. I decided to take my order to go. Now, onto the food: **Brisket:** Standard practice at many joints is to offer a choice between lean, fatty, or a mix. I was given the lean cut by default, so I can only speak to that, but it was executed well. It carried a nice smoke flavor and managed to avoid the dryness that often ruins a lean cut. **Ribs:** A very solid cook. They had great smoke flavor and were perfectly tender, pulling cleanly without falling completely off the bone. The rub gave me distinct Rendezvous in Memphis vibes, which was an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. **Greens:** The texture was nicely tender, but they unfortunately lacked any real seasoning or depth of flavor. **Dirty Dirty Beans:** The beans themselves were cooked perfectly with a great texture, but the flavor profile missed the mark. It carried a harsh, "dirty" smoke taste that was ultimately off-putting. I really wanted to like these, but the flavor just wasn't there. All in all, the vibe, the staff, the ambiance, and the meats make this a solid choice. I can easily see this being a great spot to grab some BBQ, watch a game, or just catch up over good conversation.

Great ambience. The booths looked more comfortable than the high top chairs. Love the open kitchen concept as I do very much like seeing the kitchen staff preparing the food. The staff were prompt and friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. If you are a vegetarian or don't eat red meat, the options are limited but then again it's bbq. I had the grilled cheese, sweet potato hush puppies and coleslaw. Love the coleslaw and the hot honey sauce. The grilled cheese was a bit soggy probably from the sweat in the container. The hush puppies were also good, you don't taste the sweet potato though.

This place just opened up in Henderson rep replacing another barbecue place. I love that they have the smokers right out front using real wood. The people are very, very friendly Alex the owner was on point. The service was fast, very, very friendly and paid attention to detail. I got the family meal which pretty much fed a party of 4 to 5 I try to order more things, but they're like you have enough which I really appreciate. I will definitely go back as this will be one of my favorite go to barbecue spots

New favorite bbq place in Henderson! You k ow when there's a smoker out front, it's gonna be good. The chicken was moist and delicious, pork, brisket and burnt ends perfect! We really enjoyed the hush puppies and the fries and Mac and cheese were excellent. Everything was actually good bbq. The service was great and everyone so helpful and kind. They frequently asked if everything was good and helped grab our boxes and answered questions. It's a little small inside and busy, I guarantee this place is gonna be a hit in the area.

From the moment you walk into SMKD BBQ, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcome. The service here is outstanding, and a big part of that is the owner, Gene. He's there every time I visit and is always a pleasure to talk to. He's friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he's built. They truly care about their customers and consistently treat us right. The food is exceptional and easily far outshines the restaurant that previously occupied this space. Everything we've tried has been top-notch. The ribs are tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, the burgers are juicy and satisfying, and even the salads are fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. Great food, great people, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a place we keep coming back too! 5/5 stars! read more

First time here tonight. We had the brisket, pastrami, sausage, and ribs for meats. All very tasty, The sausage was really good. For sides we had Mac n cheese, need to be creamier, potato salad really good, beans were delicious, beets and carrots were good too. The waitress closed our order when we were done ordering exit I thought was strange but that made the kitchen think our order was to go. They straightened it out in the end and gave us extra food and free desserts to make up for it. Props to Gene in the front of house for that. Top class, most places would say oh well. The banana pudding was fantastic and the snickers cake was pretty good too. We will definitely be back based just on that extra service. read more

Food was very delicious. The Pit Master knew his stuff. The service was amazingly friendly and very accommodating. The whole time we were there, we don't hear one person complain. The staff were very good about helping each other out. We had a party of 5 and we tried most everything on the menu, except ribs (we like to get to places before the rush and were too full before the ribs were ready. Should've got some to go now that I think about it). ALL of the deserts were tasty as well. Great job by the entire staff. Had to make sure and tell the Pit Master and the Manager how good of a job they're doing. read more

Stopped by today for their second day of service. The food and hospitality were spectacular. The pork and brisket were both juicy and succulent. We also really enjoyed the sweet potato hush puppies. The dipping sauce for them was crack! I wish I had got fries to dip in that sauce. I appreciate the blue and yellow masa corn bread and the pickles to break up all the richness in the food. I cannot wait to go back and try the pastrami, burnt ends, and ribs the next time we go back. I definitely suggest getting desserts, because they are all amazing. I had a hard time picking between the snickers bar or the chocolate cake and banana pudding hybrid dessert as my favorite. Roger, on the otherhand, loved the fried apple pie. They have something for everyone. read more

We were greeted by a nice lady working the front who took our order and when we received our food she even grabbed our utensils for us and checked in on us a few times, same as a few of the other workers. The music wasn't too loud but the vibes were very chill and fun. The food now.... INCREDIBLE! Pig candy is a nice cut of pork belly and sweet sauce/syrup, the burnt ends were soft, fall apart, moist meaty goodness. The brisket was well flavored and their sauce on the tables is a nice touch! The chicken wasn't dry (thank goodness) and came with a delicious lime sauce. The Mac and cheese i want to buy a whole tub of it!! Collard greens are different than what im used to but was still delicious. Coming back here again and again! read more

SMKD is sooo good!! Delicious new BBQ restaurant with great service! Great for kids, too. They have outdoor seating and homemade Mac n cheese - a big win with kids. My favorites were the Brisket, Mojo Chicken, and Homemade Snickers for dessert. I can't stop thinking about the brisket...and the spicy watermelon margarita! Can't wait to go back! read more

So glad to have some delicious bbq near the anthem area. Both my husband and I got the two meat combo with 2 sides. Honestly cant go wrong with any of their meats but the ribs and brisket were pir favorite. So juicy and very tender. Our favorite sides were their potato salad and collared greens. We've now been a couple times and holy cow is this food so good! The service is so family oriented and on point, they do not disappoint! Pastrami sandwich - is so tender and delicious! Might as well call this place "Hender tucky" not Henderson. Bbq is a mix of Midwest & southern style. Wings were good liked the dry rub. Beef brisket was tender moist. Burnt ends were good too. Beef pastrami ran out so popular. Food came out fast. Family & all were really friendly. read more

Service was great. Went there on a Sunday afternoon. Food was good. Had the brisket. Portion seemed small. Served on a 1/2 slice of very thin bread. Real issue was someone (bald man) , appeared to be owner or manager and was sitting at a table and was yelling the "F" word several times at someone sitting there as well. Not sure what the issue was but there was a small child at the front of the restaurant so maybe he didn't hear hopefully. read more

It's the best barbecue I've ever tasted in a long time. I liked the brisket and St Louis ribs. It was delicious, moist and tender. Love the good tasting BBQ sauce that is complimentary to the brisket and ribs. Great service and friendly staff. You have to get the fried apple pie. So good with vanilla bean ice cream. The pastrami on rye was good. I will come back again to try their other items on the menu. Definitely, the brisket and ribs were the bomb. read more

I have been coming here a lot recently! The owners and staff here are so sweet and hospitable. The food is delicious! The ribs and brisket are all so flavorful and juicy, and the pig candy was such a pleasant surprise. I really recommend the chips and dip! They also play fun country music (not too loud) that makes for a nice atmosphere. read more

This was our second visit to SMKD. By the 2-Star rating you can tell right off the bat it was not a great experience. The first time we were there it was close to the opening. We gave them a second chance. By now (last night) they are in their 3rd or 4th month. There are so many other great BBQ joints in the area, why waste time, money and calories on SMKD. I'll start on the positive side the employees were very nice. Our order was taken quickly. They have a bit of a confusing menu and the chalk board was not easy to read. Here's the important part, the food! We ordered the 2 Meat 2 Side Combo Plate ($24) -- Pastrami and Brisket. I specifically asked for fatty brisket but receive several slices of very thin, dry and old meat. The server told me that it was a very generous cut it was but not very good. The Pastrami was moist and tender not much seasoning flavor. The side of Dirty Beans were dry and not very hot. The Potato Salad was warm (not cold) and lacked a good seasoning flavor. It also came several minutes after the main part of the meal was served. The entree was the 1 Meat 2 Sides ($18) plus a premium ($2) for the Salmon. The salmon was a bit of skimpy filet serve over a mix green salad. The salad had a weird tasting dressing. The two side include the Mac-n-Cheese was pretty good but not very hot. The Beets & Carrots were pretty bad. Old oversized and mealy carrots and earthy (dirty) flavored beets. You can always tell the success of the meal by what is left or goes into the rubbish bin. The Beans, Beets & Carrots and Potato Salad were all dumped along with the "un-fatty brisket." My guest finished the salmon. I took home 2 slices of pastrami. The total for meal excluding beverages was $57.99. I felt underwhelmed. There are so many great BBQ houses in the area-- Mission BBQ in Henderson and Fox Smokehouse in Boulder City. I'd rather travel a few more miles than have this lack of quality BBQ. Overall, very disappointing! read more

Heard about this place from word of mouth, it was a splendid suprise! I got the smashed burger and Mac & Cheese, while my wife got French dip sandwich and cream corn. I saw this being promoted on IG so I decided to try it out with the fam. We got the wings which were super crispy and delish to start with. Then we all got combo plates. My daughter got the salmon, French fries and beets and carrots. The French fries are dusted with a delish seasoning and the sauce on the beets and carrots was like a citrus rosemary and so good! We added some bbq sauce to the salmon and it was a hit. My husband got ribs and brisket, mac and cheese and fries. The Mac and cheese is truffle and perfectly creamy. The ribs had a beautiful Smokey flavor. I had the brisket with potato salad and carrots and beets. The potato salad had amazing flavor! The brisket was amazing with the bbq sauce but was half fat. When the server came over to check on us, I had mentioned it and she offered to get me more brisket without the fat which was so sweet! She let me know to order it "lean" next time if I don't want any fat on it which is good to know for the next time we come! We were actually checked on multiple times by the staff that was extremely friendly! I saved the Ube swirled cornbread for last but was already super full so was only able to eat 1 piece but it was really good and buttery! I wish I had room for dessert! Two stars for great service but I don't see why all the reviews were mostly five stars. Ribs were just ok, 1/2 chicken was so tiny it looked like it was 1/2 quail. Potato salad and beans needed more flavor especially potato salad. You may enjoy SMKD but we won't return. Back to Big B's. read more

Everything about SMKD is killer! Not just the drinks! Staff is super friendly and informative. Gene is such a character that he leaves a lasting impression that you feel like family immediately. Chef Alex is genius with flavours and is so personable. I genuinely love when a chef comes out to meet the crowd. The food...omg that pastrami. The hushpuppies. They are my 2 go tos! will never leave without having both, even if it's just to take away ! And the atmosphere ....i love the music choices I can eat and sing at the same seating ! SMKD BBQ has some of the most welcoming and inviting service ever. The food was incredible, we ordered the ribs, burnt ends, pork sandwich, mac n' cheese, banana pudding, and the Snickers dessert. The ribs fell right off the bone and were packed with flavor. And whatever you do, don't skip the desserts, they're absolutely worth it. The inside was clean and had a cozy, home-style BBQ feel. What use to be Bells, is now SMKD. What use to be damn good smoked meat, has now evolved. Evolved in to incredible smoked meat, incredible sides, and just an incredible menu with awesome food to back it up. I really cannot recommend it any higher. It has joined my elite list of 'go-to' places. It is just terrific.And you know what else? The people. The owners, workers, all...just great, friendly people. Omg so happy we found this place! My husband and I are both from TX and it's THE BEST BbQ we have had in town! Smells so good in here! Brisket is perfectly cooked with the right amount of fat. Chicken was SUPER juicy! Coleslaw was like how momma made it and the Mac and cheese is outstanding. Twisty noodles with the little crunchy on top-YES PLEASE! Oh and the staff is so sweet! Wendy!!!! I wait to share my experience at a restaurant until I've gone several times. Consistently is imperative. I've been to SMKD 3 times (within a month) because it is that good. Ribs, pastrami sandwich (oh my gosh), brisket-all delicious. The sides are equally as good-coleslaw, fries, dirty beans, beets and carrots and the kugel I am obsessed with. The customer service sets this restaurant apart, as well. Next visit...ordering the salmon and of course, the kugel. read more

I didn't know this place served bottomless bubbles for $20 on the weekends! My friend invited me for bbq and I went straight for the brunch items pastrami hash with 2 sunny side up eggs on top. The space is great loved the music playlist and they have games on 4 tvs. This is order at the register first and they bring you your food, servers were so nice I made sure to walk back up to the register to tip them. Best BBQ we've ever had! My bro and I shared the Some of this, some of that for 2. We chose the St Louis ribs, Burnt ends, Brisket, and Chicken. Sides we picked were Red beets and orange carrots, Triple B (Brussels, bacon, balsamic), Dirty dirty beans, and Collard greens. Service was very attentive! Went here on a whim for lunch and was glad I did. The decor and vibe made a great first impression, as did the service, which was well above average. Hard for the food to match all that, but I'm happy to say it did. I had wings with creamed corn, collard greens, and more. Everything was great. We heard about this place from a friend and stopped in while visiting my brother in Vegas a week ago. It was decently busy, but our server was attentive and kept our drinks full. I was visiting a friend in the Las Vegas area and they recommended SMKD BBQ. We went there for dinner one night and it could have gone better. The staff was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the pork sandwich and it was the best sandwich west of Kansas City. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more
