My husband, 2 adult kids and I recently stayed in Henderson while attending Metallica at the Sphere. My son found this place and it was pleasantly good with great customer service. We got a mix of meats: pulled pork, ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and chicken. All the meats were good and juicy except for the chicken. We'll skip that next time. Cornbread, coleslaw, fries and mac n cheese were good but the beans were not, so we would skip on the beans as well. Overall, would definitely come here again!!
The second I walked through the door, I was instantly smacked in the face (in the best way possible) by the glorious, hypnotic wafting smell of BBQ straight from the smoker--truly the ultimate siren song. Honestly, I'm pretty sure my soul left my body and floated right toward the pit. The meats are out of this world, but holy sides, Batman. The Triple B is an absolute game-changer, that bloody good potato salad has single-handedly ruined all other potato salads for me for the rest of my natural-born days, and the kugel? Let's just say my ancestors are up there weeping tears of pure joy. Service was stellar, the staff treated us like absolute royalty. I'm seriously considering changing my legal name and moving into booth #4. Do yourself a massive favor and get here ASAP. 10/10, will be dreaming about this feast tonight!
Just got off of early voting , was looking for a place to eat. Found a SMOKER outside smoking some foooooood. Right when I walked inside I was greeted by the cashier and was politely asked if I could be helped! Love the atmosphere here, very homey and welcoming. I ordered the ribs and brisket, Mac n cheese, beans and cornbread! Everything was good! My fav was the ribs, smoked and charred, I like it that way. Then decided to order dessert, the fried apple pie with ice cream, amazinggggg!
Came here with friends after paddleboarding and this place really hit the spot! We ordered a meal with 4 meats, 4 sides and 2 drinks and 3 appetizers. Everything was delicious! Appetizers: -Cornbread: amazing! Super moist and delicious! -Pig Candy: a MUST try! Smokey and super flavorful! The crust on it was just like candy! - Smoked Chicken Wings: we got the option of a dry rub with sauce. It was so nicely smoked and I love the wet sauce and dry rub option! Meat: -Brisket: I thought it was nicely smoked and super juicy, but one person thought it was a little dry for his taste. -Pastrami: a great surprise and will always order this! So nice, juicy and very flavorful! -Chopped Pork: AMAZING! The sauce is amazing, and the pork was nice and soft and so good!! -St Louis Ribs: FANTASTIC!! Soft, flavorful! Absolutely amazing! Sides: -Mac n Cheese: one of the best I've ever had! Has a hint of Truffle and the perfect amount of cheese! -Collard Greens: I love collard greens and was happy they had this! So good! -Cole Slaw: nice and tangy. Perfect as a side to all the meats! -Beans: sooooo good! Their naughty beans has big chucks of sausages in there! Nice, Smokey and delicious! Fantastic food and very friendly service!! Will definitely be back and will tell friends about it!
My husband mentioned getting some barbecue randomly this week, and I thought, "Why not?" I hadn't had any in a long time! When we left the house with the kids, we actually didn't have a specific BBQ place in mind. After a quick search on Yelp, we decided on SMKD. Neither of us had been there and the ratings looked good! The restaurant itself is clean and inviting. My two-year-old loved the little animal pictures and art, although she had no idea we were going to be eating those animals. Oops. Service was fast and friendly! Food was delicious. We got the 4 meat, 4 sides combo (called "Some of This, Some of That" on the menu) and it was perfect for two adults and two kids (ages 2 and 5). For meats, we ordered the brisket, pastrami, pulled pork, and chicken. For the sides, we got Mac n cheese, baked beans, Brussel sprouts, and hush puppies. We also ordered the cornbread. My favorites were the brisket, pulled pork, and Brussel sprouts (they were balsamic glazed and so good!). I actually wasn't a huge fan of the baked beans even though that's usually one of my favorite sides; it leaned more salty seasoned rather than brown sugary, so that's probably why. You may like it more if that's your preference. I also enjoyed the cornbread with the honey butter! Some quick notes. You can order either at the counter or at the little digital kiosk at the front. Once your food is ready, they'll bring it out to you. The silverware is all at a self-serve station next to the drink machine. A roll of paper towels is at each table for you to use in lieu of napkins. Food plates are these spacious, metal rectangular platters with parchment paper. A few sauce selections and condiments are at each table. To-go boxes are at the bottom of the self-serve station. Enjoy!!
This was my first time at SMKD BBQ, and I can already tell you it will NOT be my last. I was seriously impressed with this spot. A little backstory: years ago, I spent a month in Dallas and had Texas BBQ, and ever since then I've been chasing those flavors. I've tried some of the most well-known BBQ spots in Vegas, and nothing ever quite hit the same. I was honestly starting to lose hope. Then I tried SMKD. The FLAVOR. Everything we ordered was so good. My palate was very happy, and I left genuinely wanting to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. We ordered two orders of wings, a two-meat plate with brisket and ribs, three sides, two sodas, and two desserts -- and everything was under $100. For the amount of food we got and the quality, I really appreciated how affordable it was. For sides, we had the collard greens, creamy corn, and mac & cheese, and I would order all three again. The wings were another standout for me. We got ours sauced, and I loved the flavor AND the crispness. They weren't soggy at all, which is so important with sauced wings. You can get them dry spice, smoked, or sauced, and I would absolutely order the wings again. The brisket and ribs had me sold from the first bite. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and seasoned so well. And I HAVE to talk about their sauces. They're house-made, absolutely delicious, and complemented the meats perfectly without overpowering them. They had just enough of a little spicy kick too. I was going back and forth between them because I genuinely couldn't decide which one I liked more. Then dessert. The banana cream pie in a cup was a 10/10 for me. The flavor was completely on point -- I just need them to make it in a bigger cup because I could have kept going. The Snickers bar is also a MUST-try. The portions are great for sharing too. We were full halfway through our meal and still had plenty to take home, which I happily ate as leftovers. And just so you understand how much I enjoyed this place: I live in Centennial. SMKD is about a 31-minute drive for me WITHOUT traffic, and I will willingly make that drive again. That alone should tell you something. I also have to mention the service. Everyone was genuinely warm and friendly, and we received great service from beginning to end. You can tell the people here care about what they're doing, and that makes the experience even better. Great service can be hard to come by in Vegas lately, so I really appreciate it when I find it. SMKD is coming up on one year in Henderson, and I genuinely don't think this place gets enough credit yet. Please go try them. I enjoyed it THAT much, and I want more people to know about this spot.
We were excited to try SMKD since they took over the previous bbq spot we used to go to. We were eagerly greeted by the staff. It's still a casual space where you order at the register and grab an available table and they bring your food to you. We ordered the two meat plate with brisket and pulled pork and for sides we selected the baked beans and potato salad. We also ordered a kids meal with a cheeseburger and fries and the French dip sandwich with creamed corn and an additional side of Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic. We also ordered the burnt ends which was extremely fatty. Unfortunately, none of the entrees we ordered were good except for the cheeseburger. Everything lacked flavor. The sides were all bland and the sauces were all too sweet. They have good specials like a burger and beer or a sandwich, fries, and drink. The service is top notch here and it pains me to not write a glowing review for this restaurant but based on the food, it just wasn't good bbq. There are too many bbq restaurants in Vegas to compete with. I would come back for a burger.
Best fatty brisket in town! There aren't many places in Vegas that do BBQ well, but Smkd definitely has my approval! We checked this place out when it first opened, and Hubby and I fell in love. The staff is also super nice and attentive, which is always a plus. Today we tried the El Cubano sandwich, and let me tell you--the toast on that panini was PERFECTION! Here's the rundown: Fatty brisket: So good. Easily one of my favorites! El Cubano: That crispy, toasted panini bread though... chef's kiss. Smash burger: Juicy and packed with flavor, although I'm not sure I'd technically call it a smash burger. Ribs & burnt ends: Delicious! Brussels sprouts: INCREDIBLE. Definitely our favorite side! Mac & cheese + baked beans: Great flavor and both hit the spot. Corn: Meh... this one wasn't really for me. Greens: Good! Pickles: Love them! Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda: Surprisingly really enjoyed this! Overall, Smkd is definitely one of our go-to BBQ spots in Vegas. The brisket alone is worth the visit!
The smashburger was solid, patty was thick and juicy, super tender. And a good size, the fries were crispy and fluffy, the seasoning had something special that gave a unique flavor. The bbq sauce was very good! I recommend trying. Service was very friendly and ambience in the restaurant was nice. Loved the sit in areas, and was very clean.
I've been eying SMKD BBQ for a while. My church is near by but I'm always out of there too early for lunch. Had come to this spot once before when it was a different brand. I like SMKD better having now tried it too. I stopped in for lunch today. I was in the area visiting another business a few doors down. I knew this was a good opportunity to try SMKD. Besides, the smell of the smoker out front is too powerful to ignore. So I walked in, looked at the hand written chalk board menu which seemed incomplete, the turned to the self serve kiosk. I found a more complete menu there. I looked through it but ultimately ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of beans. My receipt was printed at the counter where I was also given a drink cup for the drink I orderded. My food would be brought out to me several minutes later. As the kitchen staff were prepping my tray, the lady working the front grabbed a fork for me and said I was going to need it. She wasn't kidding. This sandwich was S T A C K E D The brisket was thick sliced and piled high. Pre-sauced and topped with pickles and pickled onions. All on a sesame seed bun. My eyes were as wide as my mouth would have to be to pythkn this thing down. I made such a mess. My hands and face were sticky and painted with sauce. It was awesome. My only complaint was the level of fat cap left on the meat. Its a double edge sword really. On one side, the fat provides flavor and moisture to the meat. On the other side, I'm not a fan of a gelatinous blob of fat. Just not by thing. So I pulled off the bigger blobs and went about my business. It wasn't so much fat to ruin the sandwich. It was still excellent. I just had to do a little trimming. Now for the beans. Good flavor. Good chunks of meat mixed in. I am going to assume these are fresh beans and not canned as they were still a bit firm. Not mushy. Not hard. Just a bit of an al dente chew to them. A little bit of mother sauce and spicy sauce brought them up that extra notch. Good stuff. Yes, I much prefer SMKD over the last spot that was here. Good service. Good food. And the perfect representation of a saying I had as a kid - When its good its messy. And when its messy its good.
I noticed this business has very manufactured 5 star reviews. Fake asf to put it bluntly. Onto a real review .. Service: The girls taking our order were awesome! I enjoyed how everyone working was happy to be there. Food: We ordered the 4 meat 4 side situation for $69.99. Selected two orders of ribs, links, and after finding out there weren't any burnt ends we opted for rib tips. Sides were Mac and cheese, greens, potato salad, and baked beans. Yes to the ribs but that's absolutely it. The ribs were AWESOME. Those two stars belong to them. Other meats: We got ONE link with that combo so keep that in mind. It was crisp on the outside but incredibly mushy on the inside. Pass. Rib tips were a hell no. Dry asf. Even with sauce. They weren't even the tips of the rib in my opinion but ehh. Trust me. Skip em. The potato salad was crazy lol red potatoes & mayo ONLY. nahhh I have never even seen potato salad of the sort. Crunchy baked beans. REALLY :/ there was no opportunity to soak the beans completely till tender? Eeeeeyuvkkkk NO. Now we knew we needed to not even taste the greens when they had pickled onions on them lol but we did. Zero flavor. Just greens. No meat essence. No seasoning. Just .. pickled onions. So ummm yeah. Unh unh smh Mac & Cheese. It was Mac & Cheese. Bland. But Mac & Cheese. "My people" don't order anything but ribs lol the rest.. it was not made for us lol Them ribs thooo YES YES YES! Extra tip. mix the sauce
Had lunch at SMMD BBQ by Chef Alex Reznik. Some of you may recognize him from Top Chef or from when he beat Bobby Flay. This is what we had: Burnt Ends Mojo Chicken - citrus garlic glaze St. Louis Ribs Brisket My Mommy's Kugel Not Boxed Mac n Cheesy Collard Greens Nana's Creamed Corn Ube Marbled Cornbread I Made a Snickers Bar Bro Fried Apple Pie Everything was great, but the standouts for me were the brisket, collard greens, and fried apple pie. This isn't some fancy pretentious restaurant masquerading as a BBQ joint. I think the best way to describe SMKD BBQ is a legit BBQ joint with elevated sides and desserts.
Found this new BBQ spot and it was SO good!! The customer service was amazing, and the restaurant was very clean. We got 1 lb of brisket with side of mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, and beans. The brisket was super tender and flavorful, but the BRUSSELS SPROUTS my husband could not stop talking about how bomb they were lol. The mac & cheese and beans were really good too. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were solid. Definitely a new BBQ spot for us, we'll 1000000% be back!

Can't wait to try more of the menu ! I ordered pickup, was greeted by a friendly woman at the counter ready to take my order. I told her I was there for pick up with my name and she kindly got me my order and handed it to me, she made sure everything was in the bag ! Everything was delicious and great flavor. Perfect size for me. I got brisket, Mac n cheese, potato salad, and banana pudding. They included the buttered toast, spicy pickles and peppers (under the meat.) gave a cup bbq sauce on the side. I've had a few bbq places in the area and this one so far is my favorite ! I always smell the smoker driving toward eastern. Has that nice southern backyard bbq taste. read more

Chef Alex Reznik's more casual temple to meat in Henderson, SMKD BBQ, was also participating in Restaurant Week. Four courses, sort of*, $30. Regular menu prices/guesstimates in parentheses. First Course choice Pig Candy ($13): Offering did not remotely resemble the promo picture on SMKD's site, which was two slabs of impressive thickness slathered in rich sauce and a generous helping of herbs. Instead, it was three pale pieces each about 1\4" thick in thin syrup topped with a miserly sprinkle of chives. Difficult to determine from customer photos if the RW portion differed; standard might be four. Equal parts fat and meat and decent caramelized crust. Leaned sweet over heat, spice, savory, or smoke. Second Course/Main Course choice Baby Back Ribs ($19 for a half-rack, so ~$9 for RW's 3 1/2 bones): Beautiful looking bark. Meat not at fall-off-the-bone level but also did not require too much gnawing to get bites. Good tasting if not much depth of flavor. Came on a toast quarter slice and with pickles. Third Course/Side choice Mac & Cheese (either the small ($5) or medium ($8)): Pasta done well. Cheese, touted on the menu as "Extra Creamy, Extra Cheesy" instead a touch too thin. Liked the forkfuls with the smoked crunch from the toasted crumbs and wished for more of that. Fourth Course/Dessert choice Homemade Snicker Bar ($8): Presentation more rustic than the uniform rectangle shown on SMKD's website. Once I started in on it, became clearer why it came out so fast: the bar needed some standing around at room temperature to soften. Probably needed even more time as the thick chocolate shell was resistant to the utensil. Preferred the fudgy bottom half over the chopped nuts in the gooey sweet caramel sauce. Also, not part of Restaurant Week, Dr. Brown's Black Cherry ($3): 12oz can. Service: Ponytailed young lady who was cashier/server/runner/busser super nice and worked the floor thoroughly. Kitchen pacing was rushed; two minutes between the arrival of the Pig Candy and the Ribs. The cold Snicker bar hit the table soon after. Atmosphere: Typical BBQ quick-serve joint, only with a smoker in the parking lot; chefs frequently ran out trays of meat to stock the pit. Loud. Small dining area populated with booths by the window; down the center a few four-tops and community tables. TVs posted close to the ceiling. Tables stocked with condiments and roll of brown paper towels; did wish for wet naps. Value: Even accounting for possible portion trimming and comparing prices to the daily menu, SMKD's Restaurant Week $30 meal could be considered a good deal. Value on the actual deliverables I got I'd assess as average. I personally would not burn gas to travel there to eat, but with Las Vegas'/Henderson's BBQ scene being rather woeful, YMMV. *At the time of my meal, some of the Course options posted to the offical Restaurant Week site were omitted/varied from the printed menu at SMKD; Brisket, not on the physical menu, was confirmed verbally onsite as a Main Course option. read more

I made a conscious decision that I didn't want a lot of fanfare, hoopalah and recognition for a milestone birthday. I wanted to experience a very low key day, doing what I wanted and it was amazing. Out of all of the restaurant choices there are in this city, I chose Smkd bbq. This was my 3 td visit and I can't begin to describe the flavors of their meats and the entire meal in general. Kathy took my order and I chose the 2 meat, 2 side neal and chose the chicken and ribs, French fries and Mac and cheese. The fries are the best I've ever eaten and the ribs and chicken were succulent. I wasn't a huge fan of the Mac and cheese and without any qualms they exchanged it for fried Brussels sprouts with a balsalmic glaze! It was amazing. I told Kathy it was my birthday and she offered a complimentary dessert. I choose the banana pudding! OMG! Light, airy and award winning recipe. I brought enough food home for tomorrow night! I had an amazing experience at smkd! The food was absolutely incredible--everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can really tell they put care into every dish. The service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Overall, everything about this place was amazing. First time visiting SMKD BBQ won't be our last! Found the place on Yelp and was not disappointed. From the first step out of the car you are hit with the smell of the smoker we knew we were in for a treat! The staff was incredible all very attentive and answered all our questions. We ended up getting the 4 meat combo w/4 sides and added a sausage as well. Everything was delicious. Some of the best BBQ we have had. We ended with the deep fried apple pie! Wow. Looking forward to coming back. This will be a regular visit for us!! read more

Absolutely amazing experience at SMKD BBQ! Everything we ordered was so good. The brisket was perfectly tender and juicy with incredible flavor and the meats have a nice smoky taste. The sides did NOT disappoint either the mac cheese was creamy, the beans were flavorful, and the corn soup was surprisingly one of my favorites. The bread was fresh! everything is made with care. I got to experience SMKD BBQ this weekend and wow, what an awesome place. The ambiance felt like being at home in your own dining room. It was relaxed, friendly, and comfortable. The music was lively and the customer service was completely on point. I love seeing smiling faces when I go out to eat, and they definitely delivered. Let's talk about smoked flavor because if you are looking for true, authentic BBQ, look no further. Every bite had that deep smoky goodness. Oddly enough, my favorite part of the meal was the cauliflower, which made me laugh because I remember thinking hmm this is interesting. To my surprise, it was absolutely amazing. The homemade Snickers bar was delightful. The ribs were fall off the bone with pure tendernism. The barbecue sauce was so flavorful it was needed for every bite. The brussels sprouts were perfectly crisp and delicious. I am so happy I found such an incredible barbecue spot here in Las Vegas. I cannot wait to come back and bring more people with me. read more

Me and my husband came to SMKD for the first time today and fell in love. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the selection of drinks -- everything was a standout. This is the best BBQ I have had in Vegas, and the food definitely rates in the Top 3 of BBQ restaurants I have ever been to ANYWHERE. I ordered the chicken and ribs with brussell sprouts and a carrot and beet salad. It was delicious. My husband ordered sliced brisket and pulled pork with mac & cheese and ranch seasoned fries. We also got the smoked dry rub BBQ wings as an appetizer, and the chocolate covered snickers bar for dessert. Everything was amazing. I always order ribs when I eat at BBQ restaurants, and these ribs definitely didn't disappoint. Not overly saucy, just an incredible carmelized, smoky flavor. The menu has a lot of different options on it, plenty for everyone. Even some vegetarian options. The menu itself is humorous and fun, and their assortment of beverages and alcoholic drinks offered many options. This place is pretty new at around 7 months in, and we are excited to tell all our friends about it! Everyone that worked there was very nice and welcoming, and they really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. We can't wait to go back to try some more things from their amazing menu! read more

Such a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere with an incredible vibe from the moment you walk in. The service is top-notch, and the food completely blows you away. The pigwich was packed with amazing, juicy flavor, and the burnt ends, brisket, mac & cheese, and dirty beans were absolute perfection.. so feeaking good! The cream corn tied it all together, and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the Snicker bar dessert completely stole the show. Wow! read more

From the moment you walk in you're treated like family! Very accommodating from explaining the menu! What works better for your date night or family! Wendy was amazing shes like your mom away from and the pit master Wendell will say hi to you while your sitting outside enjoying your meal!!! Overall a great recommendation!!! read more
