Went into the store tonight to grab a few items. The checker lady bagged my dog shampoo with my fresh veggies... Gross. I only come to this location when I need to because it's close to my house. I normally pass this dump to go to the Albertsons in Summerlin. Also, there nobody sanitizing carts at this location. Every time I'm here there's an empty bucket of wipes. Such a health hazard in these times. Whoever is running this store and the district really needs to open their eyes and overhaul this location. It's atrocious. read more

This store is the closet grocery store to me. I gave 4 stars because the prices are high. But you get what you pay for. Well stocked organized clean & spacious. From 7/23/15 This Smiths location is on West Lake Mead BLVD. The setup of this store is like any typical chain of supermarkets. The vegetable and fruit section had a good variety of produce, and they were ripe, not decaying like in some stores. They have a decent booze section with a variety of wines and liquors. Their frozen aisle is huge, with a good selection of ice cream, pizzas, veggies, meals in a bag, and even vegetarian options. The Seafood section was pretty decent; there was a good selection of fishes, shrimp, scallops, and crab legs- score!! I'm so stoked that they have snow and king crab legs here plus the price was fine with me, it's what I am used to paying anyway. The deli section had a bunch of good brands, and my personal favorite Boars head. The meat section is excellent, the quality of their steaks, turkey, chicken, etc. were very noticeable. I'm just happy that I finally have a grocery store that I can see myself shopping at on a regular basis. I moved out here five months ago and have been going Walmart, Trader Joe's, and El Super, but needed a grocery store like I am used to back in NY. That said, Smiths seems like the winner. i go to this location exclusively by driving out of my way to it bc all the ones by my house are a mess. i never want to come here again after my experience last time. so like i said, i always go here and with that i always do self checkout. never been an issue until this worker approaches me after i've scanned a third of my groceries saying "Oh no you can't check out all that here! that's a lot of items!! are you an instacart person?" me very confused as this has never been a problem before: "No these are my groceries. I always use self checkout? is it a new policy with an item limit?? i don't see a sign." she said, "No you never could this is way too many items we have register 8, register 9, register 10 all open!" me now embarrassed as i was being shook down in front of guests over this shit: "okay we'll cancel everything i guess." so then i went an paid at the register. i don't have an issue if i can't use self check out with a full cart, i will gladly go to the register. i just don't understand why suddenly that day a worker literally made a scene over this. there is no sign and it wasn't busy. i wasn't holding anybody up, just minding my business like she should have been. it was an older petite woman with long dark hair. i hope she finds peace as clearly she felt the need to talk to me in such an aggressive manor unprovoked. read more

Been coming to Smith's on the corner of Sahara and Durango, the service was decent, but the cashier was awful. Apparently, it's good to socialize with celebrities and coworkers, while ignoring and not talking to regular customers. The ladies in the bakery department were very nice and very helpful. I purchase my son's birthday cake and also cupcakes from here for his birthday. HORRIBLE customer service. Called to check availability for an item that almost no one has in stock in deli multiple times and I was either hung up on, or placed on hold and then hung up on multiple times. Called another department and he did not listen when I explained that I need to check something in deli but they weren't answering me and he told me I have to call deli anyways since that's a different department, the call had someone else chime in and they transferred me and then hung up. Called again to speak with someone else and she was very helpful and went to check on the product for me and placed me on hold but I was transferred while on hold and someone else answered. I explained to her that I was on hold with another woman who was checking something for me and she rudely told me that there's no one else anywhere near by so she doesn't know who I would've been speaking to and then when I said the other lady told me she'd be right back, she got an attitude and asked me if I was gonna tell her or not what it was I had her go do since no one else is there and she can't help me. Then she hung up on me as well. It's not this hard to see if an item is available or not, and it's unnecessary to make something simple so hard. Especially when I'm just asking if they have a certain food in stock or not because it's been hard to find anywhere in Vegas. read more

I literally hate going to this Smith's. It is the worst location in town and sadly right by my house. So in a pinch, I run by there to get forgotten/quick items sometimes. I try to stick to the self check-out to save time. The Cashiers at the registers take forever and have the WORST attitudes. Their selection is TERRIBLE. Tonight after a large grocery trip at a different Smith's, I realized I forgot TidePods. So I begrudgingly ran to this Smith's to grab them quickly. I waited in the Cashier line for 15minutes to hand them that stupid card because they keep them locked up in a back room behind the customer service desk. When it was finally my turn, the cashier looked visibly annoyed to have to make the trip to the back room. Trust me, I hate it too. She came back with the wrong kind. I told her it was wrong and she told me in a very annoyed tone that that was the only one they had in the 32pack. Now see? This is the dang problem with those cards! I can't see what you have in stock! So the Bagger offered to go grab me any size of the kind I wanted. He came back with the EXACT same wrong kind she had AND a totally different brand! How lazy and idiotic! And now they're both annoyed they had to walk all the way there and back and I'm PISSED because I've waited 20minutes now for the wrong pack of TidePods I had no choice but to buy at that point. There is always a wonderful experience at the main entrance of Smith Drug Store. Right in the middle of the store you can ask for " Tonna" any time. She is always smiling!!! and looking for a customer to provide her unforgettable friendly assistance ... she Is the flower lady... but no worries if you need help on anything else at the store she will take you over to the right place. I cannot even believe how Smith is one of my favorite place right now just because her. She is always busy speaking with someone and no matter if sometimes she wants to cry or run away ... she will always contagious you with her best attitude and happiness. OK, this place has a LOT of frozen Gluten Free stuff! Corn dogs! Doughnuts! Pizza! It's a little spread out, it isn't in one aisle but it's there. The store is clean, they don't let the lines get too long before they call for back up. It's a relief from Walmart where the "interesting" factor is something to experience. Here it's mostly Moms with kids, and younger single peeps getting foods and nonfoods. They have a decent produce department, with no little gnats, and no spilled pyramids of fruit rollaways. Nothing like walking into Produce and seeing a vast wasteland of crap people didn't bother to put back up when it fell. The meat is ok. I don't have too high of meat standards, according to my girlfriend. She's a meat snob sometimes. We've gone to four stores looking for Filet that meats her approval. If I don't see a Filet I like I'm fine with a Delmonico cut. Again, she says I should care deeply.I think she's nuts. It keeps it interesting. They have my Moms Starbucks coffee drinks, daughters waters, sons energy drinks, I only very occasionally drink anything like those so I guess I am the laidback one. LOL read more

Came here for drinking water. Noted that the pricing was better than expected, and we ended up buying more to bring back to my home state. The first time learned the Smith's existence was at a Shell Gas station near the junction of I-15 and I-70 in Utah in Summer 2013. 1-20-19 was the first time shopping at Smiths, any Smiths. Complete morons I tried to return a pos safety razor and the cuckhold assistant manager comes over with a security guard to explain he doesn't stand behind the quality of the stores products and won't be taking my return. We order fried chicken from this deli several times a year for events we have at our community center. 85 % of the time they don't have the order ready or just plain forget to make it. This past Friday was the last time we will be going to Smiths for fried chicken. Not only did they not have the order ready, no one knew of the order! I had ordered the chicken a few days before and even called the morning of to confirm the order. "oh yes, we have the order and it will be ready for pick up at 4PM." was what the Smiths rep said. We get there and no chicken. Needless to say, dinner for 50 people that night was late. The manager of the deli department was supposed to call me to help remedy the situation. It's a showdown often times between the Smiths and Albertsons. While some items at Albertsons are less expensive, some items at Smiths are ALSO less expensive so it's a wash. What it boils down to for me are the following things: 1. HOLY CRAP Smiths has little baskets you can pick up and use BY THE DOORS 2. HOLY CRAP there is NO shopping cart security prision pass through or turnstyle either for you to wend your way through 3. EVERYONE shopping there was so nice and helpful! People offered me assistance while my hands were full AND there was a lady who needed help so I of course offered MY assistance... This is my neighborhood grocery store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have plenty of cashiers and self-check lanes(which dont always work the best)-they may want to look into what kind of scanners Fresh n Easy is using. You Can pay your cable or power bill here but Friday is not a good day to do it. They have great sales and they have a pretty nice meat selection & deli. The managers specials are a little suspect since its usually meats and products going bad. They have huge sales of holiday items after the holidays for 75% off. They deli/bakery turns out some of the best cakes and fried chicken around. Ribs are good too. read more

I purchased Stevia last weekend and after finding that it had absolutely no taste I discovered that it had expired almost one year ago. I took it back to see if they would exchange it without a receipt. They cannot. She offered to scan the Stevia to see when the last one was purchased. I was relieved until their system said nothing was sold in the last 90 days! She made me out to be a liar which I absolutely am not. She was very rude and kept saying that I must've purchased it purchased it a long time ago or at a different store. I told her she can pull up my transactions on my membership card and see for herself that it was purchased. Apparently the membership card doesn't even track transactions. She kept insisting that I never purchased it there. I left there more pissed off then when I walked in. We don't have these in California anymore... I doubt they could compete with the dozens of major grocery store chains in the ever growing Golden State. I've never really liked Smiths for some reason. When it was in cali, and still don't here in Nevada. The bill pay option can come in handy once in a while, but other than that I see nothing interesting that makes me want to shop here on a regular basis. Nothing personal against the franchise itself or it's employees. Nice people, from my past few experiences there, along with this time. Haven't really been inside any location in years, literally until tonight. The layouts inside are weird to me and their registers were outdated. The self checkouts were the newest thing in this store. I live in the Southwest part of town, on s. Durango, and not too sure if there are any on my side of town. I could be wrong but, never see them until I hit Sahara.
