This is your standard big grocery store. It has everything you can find in a similar big chain grocery store. I like that they open late, especially for Vegas for your alcohol and munchie needs. Do sign up for a reward card so you can get discounts even if you are just visiting. When I visited on 7/18/25 around 10:30pm, I was helped by Cristi at the self check out. She was so friendly and nice and went above and beyond for us. She helped us get a rewards card and explained how it works, and just overall a great person to talk to. Note if you want to get cash back there is a $0.75 charge. Silly me I forgot to take my cash out from the dispenser, I hope Cristi or someone else in need have found it. read more

This place is a garbage Pitt, and I blame the management! It's nearby so I pop in and get groceries, usually homeless hang out, steal carts, what's left won't even roll! But today lol their ice cream freezers apparently broke, no signs, just blue painters tape blocking them! People been breaking the tape and taking melted products probably getting sick, I had to leave and go to another location after I already had a full cart! In this heat. Had to drive more to get frozen food! I will never go to the West Desert Inn location again, and if I can help it, no one else will either! That place is a homeless shelter. I'm glad we stopped by here as it was near our Airbnb and they open till midnight. We arrived around 10 PM so there was not that many customers in the store. The limited staff that they had were very nice and helpful. We came to buy some liquor and the liquor section was locked up however they unlocked it for us within five minutes. The grocery store is big. It feels and looks like one of the big grocery chains. The store was clean and organized and if you get their store card, you can get discount on your purchases. We will come back here the next time we are staying in this area. read more

I've been shopping at Smith's on 4840 W Desert Inn Rd for over 15 years and I went into the section for cosmetics and it's a new policy not to take your cart into the area. I was unaware. She said to me, "You watched everybody leaving their carts outside and you did it anyway." I had not noticed because there were many carts with clearance items. She made me take my cart out and then go back in and get the item and as I was paying for the item another person came flying out with a cart full of alcohol. Double standard. Terrible customer service. I went to purchase seltzer water on sale, the sign said three for $8. When I checked out the seltzer did not ring up the sale so I asked the manager, he sent an associate to check the price, she never came back. I offered to walk him to the pile of seltzer water, found the associate just hanging out there chatting with another person. The manager asked her what happened, she lift up the sale sign and showed 4 boxes of BIG K drinks that was covered by the sign ( seen in photo). it turned out the one on sale out of all the seltzer, was covered by the sign. I said " OMG, it is completely covered by the sign." The associate said (in a very loud voice ) "read the sign" and walked away. The manager next to her laughed at me, as if I can't read. Not a bad supermarket! Me and my Mother went here when we were in Vegas as she wanted to buy some more groceries for the room, like some iceberg lettuce to make salads as well as fresh fruit. This Smith's was one of the closest grocers to The Strip, where we were staying, so we decided to stop here. When we arrived here, we found it to be an average sized supermarket and although a bit older in style, like an older Shoprite or A&P/Waldbaum's in the New York area where I used to be from or some Winn-Dixies in Florida, it was clean and well kept. Entering the store counterclockwise, we first went to the Produce Department, which had track lights overhead, bright and legible signage, and a wood-like laminate floor. The Deli, Meat, and Seafood Departments were towards the back of the store, but we did not visit those departments. In the middle of store were your standard grocery aisles, which were well stocked from our observations and the Pharmacy, registers, and a few slot and video poker machines in the front of the store. The Produce Department proved to be solid, as we were able to find many heads of lettuce that were fresh and crisp, fresh and sweet peaches, and sweet and tangy red grapes. The other item we needed was some of my Mother's Walden Farms Salad Dressing, which we got a few bottles of. As far as pricing, we found Smith's to be on the lower end to about an average for the most part, especially on produce, with prices on items being similar to Publix in South Florida. The one outlier was the Walden Farms Salad Dressing, which was priced close to $5 a bottle, higher than what we pay at home and higher than a Walmart we went to. When it came time to checkout, we found it to be understaffed, as there were only a couple of registers open, however, Josie, the lady who checked us out, was a sweetheart and very efficient. If we were back in Vegas, we would definitely stop at this Smith's. read more

I sent my 13 year old son into the store to buy carrots and celery. He was advised by one of the employees there he was not allowed to shop in the store without an adult present and asked him to leave. When I went into the store and asked for a manager, the manager advised me that it was the state law for anyone that is shopping in the store to be 18 years of age or older, which is a lie. There is not any law in the NRS stating that you need to be 18 years of age or older in order to buy anything from a grocery store let alone some vegetables. Horrible service, they need to re-train their employees and actually train them to have better customer service skills instead of profiling people and discriminating. I am a regular at this store for over 20 years and there is always kids and teen shopping here since the store is right across a middle school. read more

This is the most poorly run Smith's location in Las Vegas, which is fantastic news if you happen to be reading this and you run the Smith's location over on Nellis & Stewart. The "alcohol" section is locked at a ridiculously early time of night, but the worst part about *that* is that the alcohol section at this location also has essential personal items such as soap and deodorant and children's diapers. The manager is a jerk to concerned customers who may not have time to try another location. I get that everybody is short but you have plenty of people to unlock this cage. A change needs to be made at this location and it needs to be made immediately. My expectations were low, but... good grief y'all. read more

I've been to this one many times solely to use the customer service desk (pay bills). It's not too busy which makes finding a parking spot easy. Customers seem more normal here than the one that we go to more often (lots of weirdos). I must say that this Smiths is my go to store. I've lived all over Las Vegas from East, Henderson, Southwest and even near Summerlin area and I must say that I enjoy this store location most of all. It just feels like home. You walk in and walk right out, unless you forget something on your list of course! It's always best to come in the morning when they open. Also, try to avoid going close to closing time because there will be a line. Last time I went around that time, there was a line for self check out only. They will also help assist, though. We always go to the seafood/meat department & they are always accommodating. I happened to go to the bakery tonight due to it being my daughters birthday. I did have to work however, I know to go right to Smiths because there's always cakes available. There were definitely plenty of options to choose from & Anika helped me all the way through. She also went to the back to try & find a cake that I would possibly like, which was nice, because I always get the "we only have what's out there" phrase. I eventually found one and asked Anika to write HBD on it. When I came back, I noticed that she added some extra ribbon on it & made it look like a completely different cake! The little things she did just made it very personable to me because it was as if she was putting herself in my shoes. That definitely made my day! My daughter (even all of her cousins) loved the cake & said it was so pretty! read more

I HATE THIS STORE! This is the local store by my house. It's dirty. I come here to pay bills and the line is always long and there is never anyone at the counter. Employees walk by and see the long line and no one says or does anything until the customer says something. It's 9 pm and the store closes at 11 pm but the section where the batteries and razors is already closed. Every time I come in here I leave pissed off. read more

I have been here at different times during day and evening hours. Employees always seem to be helpful and friendly. I actually prefer this Smith's over the one closest to me at Sandhill & Flaming O because this one is not surrounded by a chaotic mess of a parking lot that you have to steel yourself against. This store is clean and well-organized. There aren't shoplifters barreling through the doors, or homeless people hitting you up endlessly in the parking lot. I'm reviewing the bakery but overall I would prefer the flamingo and Decatur location over this one the other day I put in an order for a cake to be made online for my kid's birthday party scheduled to be picked up today and they did not have my order they actually told me because I didn't pay for it they didn't make it however for personalized cakes it doesn't give you the option online to pay because the price varies due to the amount of decorations they added and says they will charge at pick up. And I have ordered cakes before and this was the process. These workers so inconsiderate absolutely did not care to help I even tried to just put in a request to have it made for tomorrow they didn't take my order I asked for a manager the woman on the phone proceeded to say that we tell you that you have to pay for it first and u have 24hrs I said where does it say that she says i don't know refused to give me her name and did not transfer me to the manager instead hung up in my face now my 4 & 2yr olds do not have a cake for their party thank god for the flamingo and Decatur location who saved the day and made a cake work for me and my kids same theme and set up I will take the extra drive to go to the other locations for my cake's because I am absolutely livid and disgusted by that service. Wow looks like I just stepped out of a time machine! Store looks as if it hadn't been renovated since 1986! Poor selection of food, way overpriced! My boyfriend and I used the self checkout to make a purchase of water and laundry detergent. Two separate transactions- he used his own debit card paid and received cash back and I purchased something and also received cash back. Dee Dee the self checkout Worker came over to us at the self checkout and told us we could not get cash back twice!! Lol WTF I told her we were two separate customers using different debit cards! She still argued with us! I told her that the machine asked us if we wanted cash back!!! Then she told us that the register is NOT AN ATM MACHINE!!! I get cash back all the time at stores CVS, Walgreens ,Walmart, Albertsons Publix etc...no one has ever harassed me over it! Do not shop at this weird outdated 1980s Freakshow!
