What makes a Delaware water gap so special in the fall is that there are some large hills here making the foliage extra special! We didn't get any pictures here because it rained the entire time we were there. Enjoyed the quiet! We camped here September 20-23, 2021. Site #329. We never had any contact with any of the staff here. The park office was closed both times we tried to visit. We did have contact with the camp host for having our dogs off leash while we got them out of the Jeep and in to the camper. I thought this was a little extreme especially since we were the only camper at that end of the campground and it was for less than a minute. Extreme. Highly Recommend if you are tent camping or less than 30 feet long.

Did it burn down or something? Besides the huge Pavilion with a giant Dancefloor/Ballroom on the second floor, it had a beach, swimming, boat rentals, fast food and lots more! But mostly I remember the Music... from the Good Old Days! Couples and groups would come from all over the East Coast, dressed to the 'nines', in tuxedos and the finest ballrom dresses. The second floor Ballroom would be packed! And the Music... The Dorseys, Glenn Miller, Brubeck, Stan Kenton, and all of the Big Bands of those Days! Later, R&R, Country, Pops and a lot more! My first (and so far only whoa) time white water rafting and it was so exhilarating and cool. Alvin did fall out at one point which was a bit scary. But he made it back inside, and rest of us stayed in the raft going through the intense rapids with water spraying everywhere and beautiful scenery around.

We had reservations for this tour and made sure that we took their "sunset tour". Price was fair, they have a big parking lot around their office. We were fortunate enough to have Captain Mike as our tour guide. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the history of this lake, where I found out that this humongous lake is man-made. Taking this tour after a very busy, adventurous and celebratory day was well worth it. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend that you try it.

We arrived early prior our schedule and we were told by the associate to be in the dock 10 minutes prior boarding. It has a porta potty by the huge parking lot and were suggested to use it before going to the lake. Arriving earlier gave us half hour to enjoy the pedestrian walk path by the lake . A beautiful sight to behold. If only we have time, there is a walking trail along. The tour was enjoyable, our guide was amazing. The ride gave us the chance to explore the history behind this man made lake. We solved the relaxation we craved through this boat trip for this weekend. An enjoyable ride.
