Then, a few days later, Tommy arrived at my house at the scheduled time and walked me through the process. Apparently, the tank had not been pumped in a while, so he took the time to find the tank and made a hole in the top. He recommended that I install a 6" PVC pipe over the hole so they could have easy access in the future, which I did. They clearly expalined that the issue (flies everywhere) was not due to the tank being full but to the sludge which had not been addressed at the bottom of the tank. They used pressure equipment to loosen the sludge and then re-pumped the sludge out, and it has made all the difference in the world. Finally, no flies. And no concern about a clogged drain field which would have been a major disaster for my yard and required removal of two of my prized fruit trees.
