Their attention to detail was incredible. Two Men and a Hoe was an incredible company to work with. I will recommend them to all my friends for any future projects!

We had to think carefully about how to write a review good enough to adequately describe our…read moreexperience with Two Men & A Hoe. We have a large, rustic property that has very rough terrain, and we are trying to turn it into our home. We needed to create outdoor living space and correct some significant problems with drainage and elevation. Before we started work with Two Men & A Hoe, we had some ideas of what we wanted to achieve, but we thought everything about our property was either too expensive or impossible. As soon as they started work, they quickly made us realize that nothing was really impossible, and there were many solutions within our budget. From that point onward, they took every idea we had and made it better than what we had even hoped. They solved problems and provided creative ideas to generate options beyond what we thought possible. All the while, they were very mindful of our time and our budget. Since our fist job with them, we have had them out several times as our ideas have grown, and we will probably have them out again for future projects. The end result is this: we are simply overjoyed. Before Two Men & A Hoe, our outdoor space was not usable. Their skills and problem solving have created outdoor living spaces that we now enjoy every single day. Their work is simply awesome. There is no better way to describe it.

This company left me high and dry. They came out and dug a 14' x 14' x 11' deep hole in my…read morebackyard. Then they were supposed to come out and pour concrete. I waited and waited for them to contact me and they never did. I called Dillon and was told he never received the message that I called, and that he "thought he had sent over the quote". I told Dillon no he hadnt and he said he would. I waited again and no quote. I get busy with life and Winter comes and before you know it, a year goes by so I contact them again. Dillon said again he thought he sent it. Nope. So on my day off I drive to their office on FM 306 in Canyon Lake. Evie, the receptionist has been replaced. Dillon comes out, greets me, shakes my hand and promises to get me the quote by the end of the day. What do you think happened? You guessed it - no quote. So still I have a big hole in my backyard yard and have to find another company to pour the concrete. This is a quote from their website: "MTL Construction is a reliable and excellent company in the construction industry, serving Central Texas and surrounding areas with professionalism and dedication. " Does the job they did for me sound like that? Did they just make all these plans with me, smile, shake my hand, just to take money from a 65 yo woman to take advantage of me? The last quote I want to leave you with is a joke. They will say anything to get your business. Don't TRUST them: "At MTL Construction, we prioritize client satisfaction above all else, striving to exceed expectations in every aspect of our work. With a focus on professionalism, efficiency, and innovation, we continue to provide Central Texas with top-quality site development services."

I have never encountered a contractor as unprofessional and disorganized as MTL. They requested a…read morebid for cleaning their site, and we took the time to provide an estimate. When we proposed a fair cost and timeline to do the job properly, they claimed they only had $1,200 and needed it done the next day. Dillon mentioned it didn't need to be perfect--just prepped for striping, focusing on the "high points." My crew arrived and began cleaning, assuming the areas that would be striped, as there was no guidance from Dillon or any other MYL employee. Although Dillon was on-site, he was vague about what needed to be done and only reiterated that it needed to be rinsed and washed for striping. We completed the work accordingly and left an hour early after cleaning the assumed striping areas, given the lack of direction. We also had a one-hour drive each way to the job site. After submitting our invoice, we received an email a few days later stating they were unsatisfied and couldn't take pictures of their site. They offered to pay only $400 for the work, claiming this was sufficient. This was shocking since we were told to prep for striping, not pictures. Had they clarified their expectations, we would have made it clear that $1,200 was insufficient. I contacted Dillon for clarification, and we met at the site nearly a week after the cleaning. We discussed the work, and I reminded him that our original estimate was for two to three days to complete the job correctly. I also reminded him that he had stated it didn't need to be perfect. I offered a compromise: we would return for two days and clean the lot properly for the originally agreed-upon $3,500. We agreed to proceed on October 22, shook hands, and I followed up a week prior to confirm. My crew lead also confirmed with Dillon the day before. Both times, Dillon assured us everything was set. However, at 7:37 PM the night before, Dillon texted to cancel the job, saying his business partner had vetoed it. He told me to invoice for the work already completed, which I confirmed was for the original $1,200. He ignored my texts, blocked my calls, and when I resubmitted the invoice, I received the same $400 response. I am stunned by the lack of professionalism and would not recommend MTL for any project.
