Once the room was open I was taken to my bike and someone explained how to adjust it to my height, as well as how to clip in my bike shoes. The class itself was a great balance of speed and climb intervals, and a fun way to move your upper body to the beat as well. Halfway through we did a small arms session with 2 pound weights. Overall I thought it was a well balanced 45 minute class! Our instructor Lindsay talked to us afterwards and introduced herself, which I really appreciated! She explained each instructor teaches their classes differently so you'll never feel that you've take the same class twice. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and welcoming, and I can't wait to continue coming here!

Hustle is conveniently located underneath Amazons HQ2 building right near Pentagon City Mall. It's an easy walk from the metro as well. Upon arrival, the staff was super friendly and energized. Check in was smooth. They offer lockers for your convenience to store your belongings. They have very clean restrooms as well. The spin room is a large size. There are tons of bikes. They provide you with towels and they sanitize after each class. Our instructor, Lorenzo, was AMAZING! His energy definitely kept me motivated even when I felt like stopping. It was a wonderful 45 min workout. I was drenched in sweat! I enjoy the fact they incorporate weights within the spinning. It was a great overall workout! Bring your water! I'll definitely be back!

Next week I will have my 200th training session with (James) Eliot Hyche at Onelife Fitness -…read moreCrystal Park, in Arlington, Virginia. The fitness center is in what is rapidly becoming the Amazon.com-friendly hub of high-tech businesses in Crystal City, Virginia (which straddles both Arlington and Alexandria VA). My purpose in working with Eliot was straightforward: I retired after 45 years as a lawyer and judge and needed to gain the resilience needed to meet the travel challenges of my retirement. Eliot has been an amazing trainer. In 30-minute workouts two days a week, Eliot has introduced me to the essential exercises that focus on balance, range of motion, agility, and upper body strength. With the Onelife Fitness Center's platform of equipment and space, I've learned how to work with hex bars, kettlebells, dumbells, barbells, medicine balls, resistance bands, TRX equipment, and free weights safely and effectively. As a new-comer to the fitness experience, I have learned with Eliot's help how to manage my time in the gym to get the most out of a 30-minute workout. Eliot emphasizes how to properly set up for each exercise - to move safely and confidently through a series of different routines that never get old. What's been most impressive is Eliot's range of knowledge about how each exercise set affects the body. His more than nine years of experience has given him useful insight into how each kind of exercise can address goals - like improving balance, strengthening key physical functions, and losing weight while maintaining a balance that takes into account protein intake, calorie monitoring, and life affirmation. This training is goal-oriented. After I retired, I sought out polar expeditions offered by Quark Expeditions, in both Antarctica and in the Artic Ocean. These expeditions come with a level of risk that few voyages pose: each day the itinerary includes boarding a Zodiac - a military-grade 10-person outboard motor-driven rubber pontoon raft that carries us from ship to shore. If a wave breaks wrong (or if Orcas attack) the ten of us who are passengers on the Zodiac will have seconds, not minutes, to try to get back to the Zodiac. This requires balance, resilience, and upper body strength. Over the past three years, Eliot has guided me to where I have the strength, resilience, and upper body strength needed for these expeditions. Among the skills Eliot brings to the table is his engaging outlook: he remembers what we've studied, offers well-informed exercise alternatives when I reach limits due to my age and abilities. He's friendly, supportive, easy to understand, takes excellent notes about the progress I'm making, and is clearly comfortable in the trainer's role. He's also been great at scheduling and re-scheduling and knows the resources of the Crystal Park Onelife Center (including its outstanding salt-water lap pool). Not once has he been late for a scheduled training session; not once has he had to cancel a session. I've had trainers before and was concerned about starting a training program with a trainer at OneLife. They're not inexpensive. I got lucky with Eliot - he's the real deal. Over the course of the last three years, I've gained confidence in working out on my own. I've lost ten percent of my body weight, reduced my blood pressure, seriously improved my LDL cholesterol score, totally removed all (like 100 percent) of plaque in my coronary arteries, and gained a new appreciation for watching my food intake. This year I'm planning my sixth and seventh polar expeditions - after exploring Antarctica for the second time last year I'll be joining a Quark expedition to the Northwest Passage, and then a Quark expedition to the east coast of Greenland later this year. With the improved balance, upper body strength, and resilience that I've gained through this training, I think I'll be ready for the Zodiacs exploring the High Arctic.

I go there bc when I travel in the US, PF is like Starbucks they are everywhere, and all have the same basic equipment. I go to various PFs in the area on my way to work or an event where it saves time being close to DC over working out in FXBG and fighting post 7 am traffic. This Arlington PF is a little smaller feeling than the others I've visited (to date 5 in VA and 1in FL) but one of the cleanest I've visited. The locker room is clean to include the shower and the shower head is high to accommodate tall ppl. And the lockers were nice w a good mix of small and long versions. The long ones have enough room to where I could hang my suit inside wo it bending or sticking out abs me having to force the door close. The atmosphere was quiet. Even the music seemed lower than normal but I wear headphones most of the time. The gym goers minded their own biz. Didn't see a lot of talking and socializing like I do in many others. The equipment was clean and the floor was great for dropping dumbbells . You do have to pay for parking. I got there at 7 am and parked across and along the street. $1.80 for an HR and 45 mins wasn't bad. I would go again. (Edited review bc I Found typos)

But I was mainly there doing personal training with Mike and he was definitely the best trainer I've ever had! I've had many trainers in my life but he got me from 23% body fat down to 10% in 3 months not to mention I gained 5 pounds of skeletal muscle mass and went from 227 pounds to 196. All that change in just 3 months is insane, granted I followed his advice to a T and whenever I wasn't training with him, I would be staying active by biking, hiking, burning as many calories as I could on my own time. He also gave me great dieting tips to really maximize my gains by recommending an increase in protein and more carbs on workout days. I've never really thought of myself as a HIIT workout kinda girlie, but since Pentagon City barely has ClassPass locations, I decided to use my trial credits here. Coming here for the first time was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and Victor was able to walk me through the whole studio and the Monday Mont Blanc process being a first time customer. They start with a warm up and every set is 40 seconds on, 20 seconds rest. You go through each of the 9 stations for 2 sets and you repeat the entire circuit twice. The entire time is 45 minutes, and the workouts and timers are always on display on the screen to keep you on track. The music is upbeat, the weights / workouts are intuitive, and modifications are welcome. Additionally, the studio is clean, and there is a shower in the bathroom if you need it. Bring a water bottle and a towel because you will SWEAT! I definitely recommend F45 if you're trying out classpass or as a membership if you're committed to HIIT, resistance, and cardio -- it's a great place to get fit!
