I first went here because I had just experienced an ocular migraine (which I had never had before and it was very scary) and when I called, they got me an appointment for the very next morning, which I greatly appreciated. Dr. Houston was thorough in his exam and, thankfully, assured me it was just an ocular migraine and he educated me about them. My son sees Dr. J and she's great with kids and speaks to them in a way that is respectful, caring, and easy for them to understand. Also: we love the guy at the front desk, Gabriel! I knew…read morethey were over-priced but the location was convenient when I started there and they did a good job with progressive eyeglasses. Recently, however, I was stunned by their blatant attempt to scam me! During the exam the doc asked if I'd be willing to wear contacts for 15-20 minutes in the store and provide feedback. No charge of course unless I decided to buy the lenses. After wasting my time for those many minutes, I was told that if I bought the lenses there would be an additional $80-$100 fee on top of the price of the product and on top of the cost of the eye exam - for "evaluation and fitting" of the lenses. I actually laughed at first and rephrased this to make sure the woman at the desk had actually said what she did! When I balked, a salesman ridiculously responded, "we try to give our customers all of the options", whatever that means and "of course if you don't pay for the fitting and evaluation we won't give you the prescription." Again, what? I had never expressed an interest in wearing lenses but the doc thought I'd be a perfect candidate and I thought, well, what do I have to lose? Time I can never get back, for one thing. And, candidate for what? A flagrant rip-off? They surely thought I was either stupid or incredibly gullible. Or did they simply decide that a senior citizen is an easy target? Pearle Vision should be ashamed of using such tactics.

The classic thing is don't talk smack about your customers when they walk out and maybe you won't lose business when they walk back in on you complaining about them. Also they mark up the frames almost 300% from what the manufacturer advertises on there website and then will basically tell you anything to get the deal done.

Also, I purchased the "Eyewear Protection Plan" for $45. The glasses began to have what looked liked 'water spots' on both lenses. I later learned that these spots were because the anti-glare coating was peeling off the glasses. Earlier in 2024, I had taken the glasses into the store to get them exchanged. The clerk told me that I had already exchanged the glasses once before and I couldn't exchange them again. I tried to explain that I got a replacement for my glasses because they were made incorrectly. She would not exchange my damaged glasses for a new pair. On August 2, 2024, I returned to the same store to possibly buy another set of glasses because of the spots on both lenses. Plus, I had gotten some scratches on the right lenses. However, I first, I wanted to be sure that if got anti-glare coating on the new glasses, the coating would not peel off in less than six months. None of the three personnel at the store claimed they could not see the spots on the glasses. I got frustrated and left. I refuse to purchase at a store that are liars and thieves. I will never buy another pair of glasses from Lens Crafters.

My last exam was in November 2019. I also had a contact lens exam. I left with a new script for…read moreglasses and 3 contact lens scripts. My right eye had 1 script for normal use and 1 for far away ( Concerts, Movies, Tennis etc). I still had lenses from my previous script which I used up probably in February. I did not use my far away right script due to the fact that long range activities were on hold during Covid. I went back to playing tennis and I felt the distance was a little blurry. I also ordered new glasses about a month ago. I received my glasses and noticed my vision was worse then with my previous pair of glasses. I checked both my contact lens and glasses scripts and found both of them to be weaker then my previous scripts. I called Vision Express and asked if they could re check my script. I was told that I would have to pay for a whole new exam. I then went on their website and initiated a complaint to work out a solution. I never received a response back. I then once again left a complaint this time to the downtown office. I once again never received a response. Your eyes are important and I learned my lesson in going to the most reasonable priced place. At the very least I should have received a response back.
