I had the best experience at this clinic! Everyone that works here was so kind and helpful. I was pulled back on time for my appointment and left promptly (less than 45 minutes). I did not have to wait for a long time for the doctor to come back and see me, which was amazing! Dr. Matt Sutton was incredible, he was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything. The office so kindly offered to do the non-dilation method free of charge during my visit, which was very generous! Absolute blessing/God send. I lost my glasses to the ocean while in Jacksonville on vacation. I called a couple optometrist with some really horrible attitudes. Gateway vision were friendly and professional; Briana told me to come in and pick up some contacts. She along with every employee I talked to could have been nicer or more professional. After all of this they GAVE me a pair of contact along with solution and carrying case and refused payment! Next eye exam I will drive back to Jacksonville and this is my new optometrist for life! I love Dr. Grimshaw at Gateway Vision! The office staff are also great as I have Davis Vision which can be complicated. They are patient and work with me to figure out how the insurance works. Dr. Grimshaw, even though I only go once a year, manages to remember things like the hard time I gave him three yeas ago, my first visit, when he told me he was going to dilate my eyes. No other optometrist had done this before. But he explained to me how important it was for him to really get a good look at my eyes, so I agreed. Dr. Grimshaw is very friendly and personable which I appreciate in a doctor. Our eyes are very important so I urge you if you haven't had your eyes checked lately stop by Gateway Vision and see Dr Grimshaw! The office has lots of frames to choose from, so if you need new glasses I'm sure you will find a frame you like. read more

Dr Popp is great. the commission sales person is awful. I needed an eye exam to renew my drivers license. The person, (who will mention every chance she gets to inform you that she is the "boss") told me I needed to purchase glasses or the DMV would not approve my license renewal. This was a blatant lie and she knew it. After I was told I didn't need glasses to receive my renewal I went to another Dr and they filled out my paperwork and I had my license the next day. Several months ago I had an eye exam and new glasses made at Gateway Vision. I spent a total of over $1500.00 for the eye exam, new glasses and new lenses for my sun glasses. My wife, who recommended that I use this business, has also spent over $1000.00 for exams and eye care products. I recently bent the nose piece on my $850.00 glasses which made they unwearable. The accident was my fault. I went to the office located on Atlantic Blvd in Atlantic Beach this afternoon to have them readjust the nose piece so that I could wear them again. It was about 1:10 PM and the office was closed for lunch however there was a gentleman standing in the door who worked there and I asked if it was possible for someone to make the adjustment so I could use the glasses. Not only did he refuse to help me with this problem he then abruptly closed the door. If this is how they treat customers who have literally spent thousands of dollars at their facility I will not use them for any reason. I went to America's Best on Atlantic Blvd at Kernan and was immediately shown to a attendant who, in less than 30 seconds, was able to repair the glasses, and even though I was not a customer, did not charge me.
