He was able to conduct my consult virtually and made me feel at ease in every part of the process. I came to him because I had a huge insecurity about my two front teeth which had old veneers that were too large and discolored compared to the rest of my surrounding teeth in different lighting. I was encouraged to pursue a different plan with the promise of discounts, which ultimately were not honored. A week after my cleaning, I reached out to reschedule an appointment and was only then informed--without any prior communication--that the doctor had decided to refer part of my case out. There was no call, email, or referral provided until I asked. When I raised concerns about this lack of communication, they were dismissed. During my procedure, the doctor was rushed and inattentive. I was visibly uncomfortable at multiple points, but no effort was made to check on me or adjust the procedure. The treatment was left incomplete, and I was told to return if it needed further adjustment. The following day, I contacted the office because the work did not feel right and requested an adjustment, but I was unable to get support. Shortly after, the crown cracked while I was eating. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact the office and have received no response. Overall, this experience reflected poor communication, lack of follow-through, and concerning patient care. I would recommend others proceed with caution.

Not super thrilled with the quality (after a few months, it still doesn't feel "natural" like some of the better crowns I've had), but functionally it gets the job done. My big gripe here is with their billing and their inability or willingness to hold themselves accountable for unacceptable billing practices. They gave me a "good faith estimate" on my crown that I paid up front, having already had all of my insurance information, but apparently quoted me as though I were in-network when they knew I was not (their words). I agreed to the work thinking it would cost around $900. (Paid in advance of service.) A few weeks after my crown, I got a bill for over $800. Turns out I was NOT in-network. When I discovered this and confronted the office manager with the information, I just received excuses: "it's not our fault you didn't know you were out-of-network", "we only gave you an estimate", "we made no mistakes", etc. Clearly mistakes were made. I was billed nearly double what they said it would cost when I agreed to the service and they refused to take any accountability. I would obviously have shopped around before agreeing to almost double that initial quote if I had known in advance it would be that expensive. After my initial discussion with the office manager, I was told she would call back about my proposed resolution. I've called back twice since, and have not been able to get ahold of her. This has ultimately led to me filing a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Will update this review with a resolution.

From the moment I walked in, the front desk person was super helpful and very cheerful. I didn't have to wait long at all. I'm just sad I can't remember everyone's names. The hygienist was so very nice and really made me feel comfortable. I shake a little and she didn't make me feel weird about it at all. She had great conversations, which took my mind off being nervous and it helped so much. Also she was super knowledgeable and explained everything each step of the way in depth. I also really loved the doctor. He Just had an ease about him and explained everything with no judgement. And Answered all my questions. I even thought the girls as I was checking out were super friendly and seemed actually happy to be at their job. Nowadays that's very rare. Again overall awesome experience. The experience with the other Periodontist felt rushed, uninspiring, and it felt like they just wanted my money and required a deposit to schedule my surgery after 15 minutes with the staff and maybe 5 minutes with the doctor. So, I wanted a second opinion, and I am so happy I did! First, I want to talk about Dr. Temlock. He spent an entire hour with me at my initial consultation, and he really took the time to explain everything to me in terms that I could understand. I've never seen a doctor or dentist spend that much time with me! His chair-side manner was a 10/10, and I felt totally educated about my periodontal issue. He was there to answer all my questions, and he helped guide me through the anticipated surgery so I could make the right decision for MYSELF! He was so kind, patient, and genuine. This was almost the exact opposite of what occurred at the first periodontist's office. Second, his staff was super nice, and they helped me out every step of the way regarding the logistics. They need to be mentioned here too because they were so awesome too! I was very anxious about my surgery, but Dr. Temlock's knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience really put me at ease. I chose to be sedated for my procedure (and this was the best money I ever spent throughout the whole situation!), and I do not remember anything! I needed a really bad/cracked tooth removed, a sinus lift, and bone graft so I could get a dental implant. Sounds scary, right!?! Not with Dr. Temlock and Nashville Periodontal Group's staff! Everything went just as he explained it at the consult. He even called me the next day to ask how I was doing and answer my questions. I've couldn't believe the doctor actually called me instead of the nurse! Dr. Temlock really does care about his patients, and he even gave me his phone number in case I had any more questions over the weekend. Lastly, I returned to the office for my follow-up appointment about 3 weeks after the surgery, and Dr. Temlock saw me, took time to personally evaluate the surgical area, and answered all my questions again. I thought I was only going to see the assistant/nurse from Nashville Periodontal Group that day, but Dr. Temlock was the one who entered the room. I couldn't believe it! Dr. Temlock reassured me that I was healing great and right on schedule, and Dr. Temlock explained that everything was on course which helped calm down my anxiety too. Overall, I cannot thank Dr. Temlock and the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group enough! Everyone is so professional and understanding. From the first time I met Dr. Temlock through the last goodbye, I cannot thank him enough. Now that everything major is complete, I am going to get my teeth cleaned with Dr. Temlock's hygienists and alternate between my dentist's office and Nashville Periodontal Group. The whole team at Nashville Periodontal Group are going to make sure they keep a close eye on all my teeth and gums into the future, so I know I am in good hands as Dr. Temlock and all the staff at Nashville Periodontal Group will continue to monitor the rest of my teeth and gums to hopefully minimize and prevent any serious issues in the future. Before booking with this trendy new dentist, I highly recommend giving your insurance company a call to ensure that you're covered ... Really, this is a good practice with any medical or dental service. I got the green light, and confirmed with the receptionist upon arrival that Tend accepts my insurance. The interior is clean and chic, with some fun patterns and tooth-themed decor throughout. I also appreciate the thoughtful details like having my name on the TV screen when I got to my room, and the sign that said "This space has been cleaned for you." My hygienist, Karen, was kind and knowledgeable throughout the appointment. She offered several great suggestions for oral health, along with genuine conversation. The dentist, Dr. Leonard, was friendly and thorough. During your cleaning, they allow you to wear noise cancelling headphones and watch a TV show of your choice on a screen on the ceiling. This was a welcome distraction. I'll definitely return to this location again the next time I'm due for a cleaning!

I got dental insurance, and processed it through the Tend app 2 months ago, Made an appointment with the treatment plan given, and called for an estimate. Where I was informed 24hrs before my appointment that they still haven't verified my insurance and are unable to give me an OOP estimate. So they moved my appointment to allow time, I called back again before the next appt, STILL nothing. That was a month ago. The past 4 days. I've been stuck on calls with the call centers that wont actually give me any information as they're saying my insurance wasn't verified since I didn't have an appointment.... Which I did in DEC that I had to cancel due to their lack of help. So Another appointment is made, and I ask for an OOP quote and they said nope, still not verified, cant quote anything. This does not make sense. How does this company expect to get clients when they're not helpful or giving answers. I called a dental office down the street from Tend today, and they were able to process my insurance and give me a quote with in 15 minutes. For a "trendy aesthetically pleasing" dental office thats all they have going for them, as the lack of helping customers.
