Went in on a Monday for their $15 piercing days and left disappointed. Doll, I think her name was, was the piercer in for the day and she was franticly running around like a crazy person. She was making me nervous because she was so flustered, trying to get ID's and paperwork. She wasn't very personable or friendly and was just piercing people to get them out of the way. I went in with my friend to get our ears pierced. I got a second forward helix and asked her if I could pick out jewelry or anything. She said no there was only one standard size. I knew this wasn't true because my 1st forward helix I had a plethora of options to choose from (at a different shop). I got a glimpse of how big the earring she wanted to put in my ear was and the bar was VERY long. Much longer than my other bar. She pierced me, took me to the front, and moved on. When I got home I looked super closely and my ear was pulling because the bar was so big and long. The ball at the end of the bar was poking about 2 millimeters out of my ear and ready to be snagged on anything! I called the shop to speak with Doll again and she said it was fine and the pulling could be from my hair...... I instantly regretted ever going there or even paying for that mess! I called Aces Tattoo Shop (in Denton as well) and asked Jen (she pierced my first forward helix) to help me take this crap out and put in something better. Long story short, DON'T GO TO SMILIN RICKS TO GET A PIERCING!! Especially not on Monday or Tuesdays. That $15 is just not worth it people. read more

DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH TIMMY Had a tattoo scheduled with Timmy on Friday. He moved it the day of, saying he double booked, to Monday. Drove an hour to the shop on Monday just to be told he couldn't come in until 3 hours later at the earliest. THANKFULLY the owner of the shop and other artists within were completely professional and designed me a new piece similar to the one Timmy was supposed to do on the spot and tattooed me within the hour. Every artist that actually showed up to work that day was incredibly nice, accommodating, and professional. Jordan ended up doing my piece and I LOVE IT. She was hilarious and fun to work with. I came here to get my ears pierced for the first time and the price is great! Only $40, $10 cheaper than some of the other locations I was considering, and the person who pierced them, Jordan, is an amazing person! She was very kind, sweet, and made the whole piercing process easier and I was in and out of there in less than 5 min! I recommend getting piercing's here! I went into to get my navel piercing all was well until I notice the bottom of the piercing was sinking in to my skin. When I went back up the shop I asked if they could put in a longer bar they stated it was irritated and to "ice it" that it would be fine but I knew I needed a longer bar. They also stated they didn't have any longer jewelry. I got my tongue pierced and my lip pierced here. SHE DID NOT USE CLAMPS! My lip piercings (spider bites) were COMPLETELY crooked and my lip swelled up and was extremely bruised. I called the day after and was talking to a man, he was very aggressive and rude. "Who told you it was crooked? If you're so worried about it, take it out!" My tongue piercing was done WITHOUT CLAMPS! The end of my tongue went numb for 2 weeks after she pierced it. I called and they said "don't worry about it" and now there is actually the nerve she hit sticking out the bottom of my tongue. Very rude service and not professional. USE CLAMPS! read more

Extremely disappointed in my Artist Timmy. I was coming back for my second tattoo from him today which I scheduled YESTERDAY. Timmy bailed on me after I drove 45 min from Forth Worth. His fellow artist called him and told him I was there to which he hung up on her (he was on a blue tooth speaker so I heard the entire conversation) and never messaged me to apologize but actually to tell me "it slipped his mind because he didn't get a deposit". He never asked for a deposit, I waited 30 minutes to see if he'd show and he didn't. He messaged me over an hour after he missed my appointment. His coworkers apologized sincerely and multiple times over his actions and I was trying to be understanding but after he messaged me on Instagram lying to me I had enough. I'd seen the bad reviews about him today while I was waiting on him but hoped it wouldn't prove true as I've had work from him done before and he did great but alas, he's as big of an ass as he made seemed. read more

The piercer here is really sweet, my friends have gone here countless of times and she has been helpful every-time. I build up the courage to finally get my nose pierced and she made the experience painless! It was so quick and she was really informative on the cleaning process. I had a good experience and so did my friends. I would recommend this place for piercings as they also have a 15$ piercing deal on mondays and tuesdays! I got my first tattoo here and it was done by Dallas. He did an amazing job and was very good at making me feel comfortable about the whole experience. The shop is very clean and everyone we talked to that works there were very nice. My brother and I went in planing to get just plain deathly hollows tattoos but Dallas ended up talking us into getting that but more creative and I'm so glad that he did. Ian did both of my tattoos. I was really nervous and he walked me through everything and made sure everything was perfect. He is extremely reasonable and only charged me $50 for both tattoos because they were small and he already had the needle out. I was so scared as this was my first tattoo and he even tested it out with water first so I would know what if would feel like. I stood in there for 2 hours contemplating on if I wanted it or not and he was extremely understanding and patient the whole time. He's also extremely quick and explains everything perfectly. He also lets you come back and get a free touch up if anything ever fades or needs more. I send all of my friends to him now and wouldn't go to anyone else. read more

First time experience! I came in for a tattoo with Jordan and my friend came to repierce her nose (also done by Jordan). Prior to my tattoo, the artist showed me the expiration date on the equipment's packaging to ensure me the tools were safe to use. (I've never had a show do this, and I really value sanitized equipment.) Tattoo turned out perfectly! After my tattoo my friend got her nose repierced and was close to passing out. Jordan knew exactly what to do and was quick to offer water, something to help blood sugar, and wet cloths. She really cared about both of us as clients and that is huge in customer service. So I went in a while ago to get a piercing and the experience left little to be desired. The blonde girl did it and she was fast and efficient, but was extremely rude and unpleasant. As soon as I sat down she immediately stuck the needle in without any warning and did not even care to ask how I was feeling. My friend watching was utterly shocked and pretty pissed, seeing as she has gotten piercings before and knew that this was NOT how a professional should be treating their customers. After the piercing was done she immediately started firing off all the aftercare tips and because I was still slightly disoriented I didn't catch everything so when I asked her to repeat herself she looked annoyed. I also had a few friends go in later on that day separately, and they explained how rude and quick she was with them too. They also need to update their piercing care tips because I was told Dial soap was used for cleaning, but upon further research from other professionals I found out that Dial is actually the worst thing to use for a piercing and a saline solution should be used instead! Overall horrible experience, I did NOT feel welcomed at all; the piercings may be cheap, but its worth paying the extra money and going to someone else. read more
