Still seeing Lori and Dr. Montrose and couldn't be happier. They run a tight ship over there and my visits feel so smooth. My teeth and gums are the best they've ever been and I always look forward to my visits because Lori (Hygienist) is amazing. She is both friendly and thorough. Dr. Montrose filled a cavity in between my two front teeth years ago and I was so nervous at the time but to this day they look great and you can't tell I had it done. I haven't had dental insurance for several years and I desperately needed to be seen. I've always had weak/bad teeth and have had a LOT of work done over the years. I've never been AFRAID of going to the dentist and have been able to handle extractions, root canals, fillings, etc with no problem. I DO however get anxious about initial exams and cleanings. I eventually made an appointment to Smiles Northwest to see Dr. Jeremy Montrose. I was super anxious arriving but just took a deep breath and jumped in. The staff at the office were all great. Did the best at making me comfortable. My name was called and one of the assistants gave me a quick tour before the exam. The office is beautiful, warm and welcoming. There is water and coffee in the lobby and comfortable chairs to sit in. They have a couple of small rooms where dental healthcare can be discussed (rather than in the chair) and they even have a lab on site! Meeting with Dr. Jeremy was great. He listened to and answered all of my questions. He gave his best recommendations after my initial exam and assessment but ultimately let me make the final decisions. I was then referred to an oral surgeon for the next steps but will continue to see Dr. Jeremy. I've got an extensive dental treatment plan coming up and I'll continue updating as my experience continues. read more

Quality and care seem to be the watchwords at Smiles Northwest. Before coming to this place I've never associated any kind of brand loyalty with a dentist office, but these guys are amazing. After about a year and several visits I've had only good experience with them. Obvious selling points are the nice waiting area, courteous and professional office staff, and very competent dental staff (I've worked with Doctors Jeremy and Allen Montrose). But to go a step further, I had a dental emergency come up the day after Thanksgiving when the office was closed. I called the emergency number and within an hour I got a call from Dr. Jeremy who agreed to meet with me in an hour. Rather than just do a quick fix and send me away with pain meds he and Dr. Allen spent time working the problem and ended up relieving the pressure that was causing me such agony. Either billing staff or dentist. Recently with my kid's dentist World of S.... in the same hood made me want to say good thing about Smile NW. Here, no issue of billing. The entire scheduling process is hassle free, I just confirm via text and they are only punctual on getting us in and out at the scheduled time. I went to Smiles Northwest for a teeth cleaning, it had been about 18 months since my last cleaning so I thought it was time. I called and made an appt. They told me I would need a dental exam (all i wanted was a cleaning but I said okay, i'll have the exam if it's a requirement). My appointment was at 2:20. I arrived 10 minutes early and was taken back. The dentist I saw was very professional and nice, I really enjoyed that part. Unfortunately that's where my "joy" ended. My exam ended at 2:40pm. I was told to wait a few minutes for the hygienist. I ended up waiting 35 minutes and still wasn't seen by the hygienist. When I made the appointment I told them I only had an hour, I needed to be out by 3:20 and they said that would not be an issue. I went up to the front and was met with incredulous looks from the staff as to how it could have been so long. They told me the hygienist was ready now but I didn't have time to wait. I mentioned that I had to take uber to the appointment because my car is in the shop and their response, "Oh, it sounds like you're not having a very good day." I was having a good day, they ruined it. The worst part, I don't have dental insurance so I was paying cash. They still happily charged me the $105 exam fee even though I will now have to go to another dentist for a teeth cleaning and pay for another exam. Beware, you better have a lot of spare time to waste here. read more

The office is very nice looking and the hygienists and office staff are all very friendly and quite good. The dentists I am a little skeptical about. Especially the lady dentist. She seems like she is only there for the money and not the quality of care. Infact the person who recommended me to this office even warned me about the lady dentist and said dont let her work on you she will try to sell you things you dont need but make it sound like its essential. I had a couple fillings done and had to go back to get them fixed cause they were too tall and affected my bite so that when I would bite down my teeth with the fillings would hit first before any other teeth. When I went in to get it fixed the lady dentist didn't even check my bite to try to fix it! She just went into her money making speal. She told me I needed invisilign to fix it which cost between 3000-5000 dollars. I told her I didn't have this problem until the fillings and she told me she could grind away at my teeth but she doesn't want to take away from my tooth structure and then went into invisalign again saying it would fix my bite. I don't see how it would fix my bite when the problem was my filling was too tall and she only needed to grind into that and not my actual tooth structure. Sounded like she just wanted to make bigger sales with a 5000 dollar invisalign. My teeth are very straight and have never required braces. read more

My husband used an Angie's List coupon for a free consultation last year. Since the good reviews were mainly about Dr Montrose, that is who he wanted to see. However, he was told that to see Dr Montrose he would have to pay $95; the free consultation was with Dr. Jeremy. My husband (I will call him Paul) wanted extra whitening and a fix for the old fillings that were in the front and too dark for his teeth now that he had been bleaching them. Dr. Jeremy didn't seem to have a good handle on what my husband wanted done. (By the way, I was there, too because was interested in what the doctor had to say.) He recommended straightening with Invisalign, which we didn't even mention, for $5000. Jeremy didn't give us much information about the rest. In February of this year, I gave Paul an anniversary present of getting his teeth fixed -- the old fillings replaced so all his front teeth would be white. We checked the reviews and decided to have Smiles Northwest do it. Paul had been using Crest Whitestrips so the baseline white of his teeth was good. He went to his appointment with Jeremy and I thought he would come home with white teeth. However, his first appointment was only more bleaching, for $495. I was surprised because I didn't think he needed it and it didn't increase the whiteness that much. Two weeks later he went in for the fillings to be replaced for $325, I believe. There were fillings in about 4-5 of his front teeth. When he came home, there was only one fixed, and it was a spot that had been sanded down. When I asked about the other teeth, he told me that Jeremy though they were okay. I was furious because of course they were not okay -- the old fillings, still there, were brown and unsightly. Apparently Jeremy did not want to do that work, or was not capable, and sent Paul home. He was just as happy to leave, since Jeremy was unsteady with the drill and hit other surrounding teeth and Pauls gums. About an hour later, a piece of tooth fell out of the tooth right next to the one Jeremy had been working on. No, it was not part of the filling material, it was part of a completely different tooth that Jeremy had apparently chipped while working unsteadily with his drill. Paul was furious and talked to Jeremy who denied that it was a different tooth. He insisted it was filling material. Jeremy offered to fix it, but Paul didn't want that guy to touch his teeth again so we are going to have the job done correctly somewhere else. My suggestion to you would be that if you decide to go to this place, have the other doctor take care of you. Jeremy is not the best dentist in the world. read more

This is the office I trust with my teeth. Dr. Montrose is very educated in cosmetic dentistry and I need to know that before I allow anyone to work on my teeth. Katie my hygienist is also super knowledgeable about cosmetic dentistry and I never have to remind her not to scratch my teeth. The staff is very professional and the office is welcoming. If you need the best, I suggest this office. I don't feel like their pricing is any more than other offices. They also offer 5% discount if paying by check or cash. read more

I am so incredibly impressed with Dr. Montrose and his team! I started going here back in 2011 for invisalign treatment and have been coming here for cleanings and exams ever since. I remember back when I was first considering invisalign and just getting quotes, Dr. Montrose stood out to me because he actually listened to what I wanted and what my concerns were instead of trying to offer me a full-on treatment plan (I just wanted minor adjustments). Seriously, I got a quote from five places and this was the only one that was willing to tailor the treatment and not insist on 2 years of metal braces for a "perfect smile". I just wanted some minor alignment fixes and closing some gaps and appreciated that they made that possible and provided multiple payment options. I just lost an invisalign retainer and the awesome lady at the front desk (Megan?) ordered it with expedited shipping within a few minutes of calling her. They are always more than willing to answer all of my questions and have worked with me and my insurance a few times to make sure I was happy and answer coverage questions, which was above and beyond what I expected. Plus, you can do a paraffin wax dip on your hands while they're cleaning your teeth which makes it a little bit spa dayish. dude the people who work here are the most patient and nice healthcare workers ive ever interacted with. from the getgo my whole situation was messed up. i had a rough morning and wound up forgetting my wallet at home, and since the online form i partially filled out didnt send it meant i was missing some vital info. since i hadnt factored in starting my paperwork over, i wound up being 20 minutes late starting my appointment because i was caught up trying to find my social in my inbox and grumbling a lot. at no point did they seem outwardly annoyed with me and the lady at the desk was helpful with every question i had! the assistant who did the cleaning was total sweetheart who had somehow mastered the art of talking with your hands in somebodys mouth. she would wait to ask questions until i could answer them and had a bunch of awesome things to chat about. it was about then an assistant came in to say my insurance was still being worked on. when i said i was worried if it would at all, they suggested i skip the xrays until next time just in case. the dentist himself was also super chill and down to earth. my dental history is kind of janked, so these situations usually make me anxious, but i was totally relaxed from start to finish. it came up that i had a cavity and a filling had a superficial chip in it. at the place i used to go to, they would have hopped on my butt and tried to get me to replace the chip right away, but he said it wasn't a problem unless i noticed food sticking into it and didnt press it further. the cherry on my "worst client ever" sundae was probably at the end, when it turned out my dad's dental only covered me into my teens. they didnt make a fuss about it or try to needle me into paying out of pocket and waited as i got ahold of him and sorted a payment plan out with him. they were honest about the severity of the cavity i had to us, reassuring us that a couple months while we got insurance would be fine to wait before operating, and holding off on making an appointment. i implore anyone who goes into the office to make sure you have your junk together first since they didnt deserve the amount of stress i caused, but its so great to know that an office will continue to treat you like gold even if you mess stuff up. they went above and beyond to make sure everything was alright, and didn't try to coax me into unnessisary work for a few extra bucks. im so thankful for that! the only thing i would advise against is using the online paperwork thing, which totally isnt their bad. it says it sends partial data, but according to the staff even completed pages get lost in the internet tubes now and then. just show up a little early and fill it out before your appointment and youre in for a smooth ride! read more

If your planning on having implants done, this would not be the place to do that. I have had 5 others in the past and those were fantastic experiences. Unfortunately, my last one done here was not a great experience at all. I think if you are going to "specialize" in a craft, then actually put the clients first. The inexpensive "work arounds" were not beneficial. I paid more here and actually had to go back again and again to have things done correctly. read more

I lost a crown last night at work. The pain was terrible whenever I spoke, ate, drank and even breathed! I called the after hours emergency number for my dentist and got "offices are open Monday, would you like a prescription for a pain killer?" I did not, I wanted my tooth back!!! Beside the point, I called/visited 7 dentists in my area, on public transit, and no one could/would help me. Smiles northwest were wonderful! The receptionist alone made my day, she was so good when I started crying on the phone, I managed to get there 30 min. later than I said I would and I was in the chair and numb within 15 minutes. The dentist (sorry I didn't get his name) was nice, easy to talk to and great! I was out in under 30 minutes and all is well. These people run a clean, kind and wonderful business! My insurance was not accepted here but for an emergency appointment, kindness and quality work my bill was still under $200. I love these people and wish that my insurance was accepted here because I would defiantly go back!!! read more
