Heads up: this practice is NOT fully vaccinated. You and your children should be aware. They also don't know anything about covid protocols. I went to get my permanent retainer repaired. It was 15 years old and the bonding came undone on one tooth. I went in and they were very friendly, but I am immunocompromised and there's no room for error, especially having my mouth open and people wearing flimsy masks in my face. I reached the room with the assistant woman, a blonde with long false lashes, I didn't catch her name, and before entering, asked if she was vaccinated. Thankfully she was honest with me and said no, and I asked if there was another assistant who could take over, as I'm immunocompromised and cannot be around unvaccinated people if I am unmasked. She left the room and Dr Delplanche came in. He approached me and tried to shake my hand. I said no and he looked confused. Why would someone try to touch hands with an immunocompromised person during a pandemic? He then goes on to say that he is vaccinated, and that he has "never run into this issue before" Excuse me? You have never had a child or adult with an immune issue in the last almost 2 years of covid? That is HIGHLY unlikely. They haven't had any complaints, because they don't make it clear the staff is unvaccinated, so unless you ask, they don't mention it! Then his unvaccinated assistant knocked over my walking cane and touched it and handled it. NEVER touch someone's mobility device, and if you do, wash your hands! I had to sanitize the entire thing when I got to my car. He did the repair alone, as that was his only assistant. The ENTIRE TIME I was in that chair he repeatedly mentioned to me how annoying, time consuming, and clumsy not having an assistant made him. He literally whined the entire time about how difficult I made his job. I couldn't even respond because my mouth was occupied. He also started insulting the orthodontic and dental work I have had done decades ago, citing he would have done it better. Then tried to convince me to buy new retainers from him! He also quoted me "way less than $200" for the repair. When I up front to pay. They said "$200" and I asked to speak to the doctor because he LITERALLY just said a different cost, and they said he was busy and couldn't come out. I have never felt so uncomfortable and pressured at a dental office, and I have had 15 years or orthodontic and dental work, including surgeries and implants. I know medical professionals and dentists need to be vaccinated by October 18th, but if I were you, I'd ask for proof of vaccination. read more

I originally got my orthodontic work about 18 years ago when I was 12 years old. I finally decided to see Dr. Delplanche a few years back for retainer replacements. He is very honest and professional. He advised me on possibly getting Invisalign due to some teeth shifting and my bite changing over time due to tongue posture. I came back today to address some old concerns and he offered making me a new custom lower retainer to address my concerns without going through Invisalign. Most of them given me the treatment plan only for solve my teeth problem only. Most of them did not consider any risk of overall looking（Aesthetic） which just simple telling me remove the teeth to make more room. We have been going to this place since March of 2014 upon recommendation from our family dentist Dr. Perkiomaki; keeping an eye on my young daughter who we all knew was going to need some work. In all of our visits, the office staff is professional and friendly, the office is pleasing, clean, and fun for kids and they have a Keurig machine (bonus)! What really sets this practice apart are four things: First, Dr. Delplanche is kind, gentle, fun, and friendly to my child, directing his communications to her in a clear way that she can understand. Second, the practice does many things to make orthodontics fun, such as getting tokens for coming to appointments, getting dental checkups, and for big events like stopping thumb-sucking! These tokens can be redeemed for gift cards and other fun stuff. They also are always having fun raffles, contests, and guessing games in the office and online for the kids to enter. Third, Dr. Delplanche is superb about taking his time with me to help me understand what is going on with my chiild's teeth and how he plans on making improvements as well as explaining why he chooses the course of treatment that he does. He never seems rushed and is patient in explaining the plan and the projected time-frames. I have never left the office feeling unsure of the course of action for my child's orthodontic plan. Finally, the office was very helpful in explaining the costs that were going to be involved upfront so that I could plan ahead and make sure my insurance was all set up. No surprises. This is the place to go if for a great smile and invisalign treatment. I wore metal braces 30 years ago and 30 years later my bottom teeth were very crowded and scrunched. (I guess that happens with age... ;) My tops were crowding and I have one particularly stubborn tooth that had rotated quite a bit. The shift in my bite exasperated my TMJ. Basket case, right? My dentist referred me to Dr Delplanche, Raleigh Hills Orthodontics. Dr. Delplanche was very thorough in his assessment and options during my initial consultation. In fact, all through my treatment he was really good at explaining every step and options, pros and cons of options, always asking my preference, feedback and / or concerns. As and adult in my mid 60's I thought I was done with braces after raising my family. Then out of left filed my bite changed to the point where I had problems chewing food. I'm too much of a foodie living in a foodie town so I had to take corrective action and get braces. My case was too sever for Invisalign treatments and I had to have metal brackets. Raleigh Hills Orthodontics is an EXCEPTIONAL ortho office. This is a neighborhood staple run by the charismatic Dr. Delplanche. I wholeheartedly recommend this ortho for both adults and kids. I signed up for a two-year stint of adult braces with Dr. Delplanche because of his thoughtfulness. Dr. Delplanche has superb 'bedside' manner - he has a knack for conveying the complexities of a treatment plan in layman's terms and always met me where I was, emotionally or logistically, e.g. work schedule and life events. This helped me understand why I needed to endure uncomfortable adjustments or wear annoying rubber bands. My choice to go with Dr. Delplanche has proven to be gold over the past two years. No attention is lost on important subtleties, like explaining what will be done in your mouth and how it will feel or sound to you BEFORE proceeding and checking in for discomfort as it is being done. And he has a solid, dry sense of humor which makes a trip to the ortho less stressful. Dr. Delplanche is supported by a phenomenal team of ortho assistants who are friendly and understanding. I was lucky to be cared for by Kels. Kels has been through braces herself - Dr. Delplanche completed her treatment. Kels always took the extra time to prepare and educate me, e.g. how to care for my teeth with braces on board, how much discomfort to expect, what the process would feel like, and answering all my questions which helped me stay with the treatment plan for the long term. Kels provided endless patience and kindness. Echoing Dr. Delplanche's operating style, the office itself is run very thoughtfully and the small touches really go the extra mile and sets this office above other orthos. For example, the office provides sun glasses which are pre-cut to sit nicely while a patient is lying down, shielding one's eyes from bright lights. There is a welcome board where new patient's names are written in. Pre-COVID, there was a fun token program where the patient earns tokens for good ortho habits, e.g. showing up on time, no broken brackets, etc. A great way to engage kids or grown-up kids like me- the tokens were traded in for gift cards at venues like Amazon and Starbucks. Pre-COVID, other small touches include from the Keurig and fig bar snacks provided in the waiting room to free toothbrushes for patients who need a quick brush before an appointment. While the office has adjusted post-COVID to keep patients safe, the procedures and small touches show the level of thoughtfulness and care given to patients. This is a business that knows how to have fun - they show their spirit while celebrating a holiday or promoting a nonprofit cause. For example, for Women's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the staff wore pink and had breast cancer awareness bracelets on. Similarly, the staff all dressed up for Halloween.
