We have been going to this place since March of 2014 upon recommendation from our family dentist Dr. Perkiomaki; keeping an eye on my young daughter who we all knew was going to need some work. In all of our visits, the office staff is professional and friendly, the office is pleasing, clean, and fun for kids and they have a Keurig machine (bonus)! What really sets this practice apart are four things: First, Dr. Delplanche is kind, gentle, fun, and friendly to my child, directing his communications to her in a clear way that she can understand. Second, the practice does many things to make orthodontics fun, such as getting tokens for coming to appointments, getting dental checkups, and for big events like stopping thumb-sucking! These tokens can be redeemed for gift cards and other fun stuff. They also are always having fun raffles, contests, and guessing games in the office and online for the kids to enter. Third, Dr. Delplanche is superb about taking his time with me to help me understand what is going on with my chiild's teeth and how he plans on making improvements as well as explaining why he chooses the course of treatment that he does. He never seems rushed and is patient in explaining the plan and the projected time-frames. I have never left the office feeling unsure of the course of action for my child's orthodontic plan. Finally, the office was very helpful in explaining the costs that were going to be involved upfront so that I could plan ahead and make sure my insurance was all set up. No surprises. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone needing to get work done on their teeth. You will find it a pleasant and positive experience, even for the littlest of mouths! :) read more

Heads up: this practice is NOT fully vaccinated. You and your children should be aware. They also don't know anything about covid protocols. I went to get my permanent retainer repaired. It was 15 years old and the bonding came undone on one tooth. I went in and they were very friendly, but I am immunocompromised and there's no room for error, especially having my mouth open and people wearing flimsy masks in my face. I reached the room with the assistant woman, a blonde with long false lashes, I didn't catch her name, and before entering, asked if she was vaccinated. Thankfully she was honest with me and said no, and I asked if there was another assistant who could take over, as I'm immunocompromised and cannot be around unvaccinated people if I am unmasked. She left the room and Dr Delplanche came in. He approached me and tried to shake my hand. I said no and he looked confused. Why would someone try to touch hands with an immunocompromised person during a pandemic? He then goes on to say that he is vaccinated, and that he has "never run into this issue before" Excuse me? You have never had a child or adult with an immune issue in the last almost 2 years of covid? That is HIGHLY unlikely. They haven't had any complaints, because they don't make it clear the staff is unvaccinated, so unless you ask, they don't mention it! Then his unvaccinated assistant knocked over my walking cane and touched it and handled it. NEVER touch someone's mobility device, and if you do, wash your hands! I had to sanitize the entire thing when I got to my car. He did the repair alone, as that was his only assistant. The ENTIRE TIME I was in that chair he repeatedly mentioned to me how annoying, time consuming, and clumsy not having an assistant made him. He literally whined the entire time about how difficult I made his job. I couldn't even respond because my mouth was occupied. He also started insulting the orthodontic and dental work I have had done decades ago, citing he would have done it better. Then tried to convince me to buy new retainers from him! He also quoted me "way less than $200" for the repair. When I up front to pay. They said "$200" and I asked to speak to the doctor because he LITERALLY just said a different cost, and they said he was busy and couldn't come out. I have never felt so uncomfortable and pressured at a dental office, and I have had 15 years or orthodontic and dental work, including surgeries and implants. I know medical professionals and dentists need to be vaccinated by October 18th, but if I were you, I'd ask for proof of vaccination. read more

I originally got my orthodontic work about 18 years ago when I was 12 years old. I finally decided to see Dr. Delplanche a few years back for retainer replacements. He is very honest and professional. He advised me on possibly getting Invisalign due to some teeth shifting and my bite changing over time due to tongue posture. I came back today to address some old concerns and he offered making me a new custom lower retainer to address my concerns without going through Invisalign. He is an amazing orthodontist and his team is very personable. I highly recommend Dr. Delplanche and his office! read more

Really Thank for you Dr Delplanche and his awesome Team, especially my treatment coordinator Mandy . I have been get many consultation for my teeth problem. Most of them given me the treatment plan only for solve my teeth problem only. Most of them did not consider any risk of overall looking（Aesthetic） which just simple telling me remove the teeth to make more room. Dr Delplanche really telling me the pro and con of doing each treatment plan. I think most of customer like me will think about three parts, solve any teeth problem, overall looking improvement and cost of treatment. Really appreciated for your time. read more

As and adult in my mid 60's I thought I was done with braces after raising my family. Then out of left filed my bite changed to the point where I had problems chewing food. I'm too much of a foodie living in a foodie town so I had to take corrective action and get braces. My case was too sever for Invisalign treatments and I had to have metal brackets. Dr. Delplanche worked closely with my primary Dentist Dr. Ballard every step of the way. Very supportive staff that takes the time to know their patients. Kell and Hunter were amazing and made it a this an overall positive experience for me. read more

Raleigh Hills Orthodontics is an EXCEPTIONAL ortho office. This is a neighborhood staple run by the charismatic Dr. Delplanche. I wholeheartedly recommend this ortho for both adults and kids. I signed up for a two-year stint of adult braces with Dr. Delplanche because of his thoughtfulness. Dr. Delplanche has superb 'bedside' manner - he has a knack for conveying the complexities of a treatment plan in layman's terms and always met me where I was, emotionally or logistically, e.g. work schedule and life events. This helped me understand why I needed to endure uncomfortable adjustments or wear annoying rubber bands. My choice to go with Dr. Delplanche has proven to be gold over the past two years. No attention is lost on important subtleties, like explaining what will be done in your mouth and how it will feel or sound to you BEFORE proceeding and checking in for discomfort as it is being done. And he has a solid, dry sense of humor which makes a trip to the ortho less stressful. Dr. Delplanche is supported by a phenomenal team of ortho assistants who are friendly and understanding. I was lucky to be cared for by Kels. Kels has been through braces herself - Dr. Delplanche completed her treatment. Kels always took the extra time to prepare and educate me, e.g. how to care for my teeth with braces on board, how much discomfort to expect, what the process would feel like, and answering all my questions which helped me stay with the treatment plan for the long term. Kels provided endless patience and kindness. Echoing Dr. Delplanche's operating style, the office itself is run very thoughtfully and the small touches really go the extra mile and sets this office above other orthos. For example, the office provides sun glasses which are pre-cut to sit nicely while a patient is lying down, shielding one's eyes from bright lights. There is a welcome board where new patient's names are written in. Pre-COVID, there was a fun token program where the patient earns tokens for good ortho habits, e.g. showing up on time, no broken brackets, etc. A great way to engage kids or grown-up kids like me- the tokens were traded in for gift cards at venues like Amazon and Starbucks. Pre-COVID, other small touches include from the Keurig and fig bar snacks provided in the waiting room to free toothbrushes for patients who need a quick brush before an appointment. While the office has adjusted post-COVID to keep patients safe, the procedures and small touches show the level of thoughtfulness and care given to patients. This is a business that knows how to have fun - they show their spirit while celebrating a holiday or promoting a nonprofit cause. For example, for Women's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the staff wore pink and had breast cancer awareness bracelets on. Similarly, the staff all dressed up for Halloween. The doctor goes all out with his outfit and leads the team in style. Wholeheartedly recommend! read more

We relocated back to Portland when our twins were in the middle of their ortho treatment. I did three ortho consultations in the Beaverton area to compare and pick the right orthodontist for our family. RHO stood out as the best for us! Dr. Delplanche is Board certified, the office is warm and welcoming, and the Office Manager was honest, flexible and made it an easy decision for me. RHO has the complete package of what we wanted, and I've been very happy with them. My boys just got their braces off and they are so happy! Awesome smiles!! read more

I recently completed my Invisalign treatment with Dr Delplanche and had an excellent experience. My teeth are properly aligned in only twelve months with no pain and minimal inconvenience. Really great doctor, cares about the kids a lot.. and is not overly aggressive with the treatment plan like other orthodontists have been (when I had consults). Would definitely recommend going here, the office staff is great and I actually look forward to seeing them :) read more

What a delight this practice is! Dr. Delplanche is smart, kind and funny. He relates well to the kids and does a GREAT job. The office is organized well and runs on time. The cost for treatment is very affordable and easy to arrange payments. They take care of all the insurance so we don't have to. I see a lot of adults in here having treatment, too. Meet the Business Owner: John D.

Dr. John Delplanche is a Board Certified Orthodontist serving the communities of Beaverton, Portland and Tigard, OR. He attended OHSU and graduated with honors, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. Immediately after dental school, Dr. Delplanche was accepted into OHSU's orthodontics residency and received a Master's of Science in Orthodontics and an advanced specialty certificate. Dr. Delplanche is trained to utilize the most current treatment techniques, including mini-screw implants, self-ligating brackets, and removable aligner treatment, such as Invisalign. Dr. Delplanche is stays actively involved in continuing education by attending courses sponsored by the ADA, ODA, AAO, WCDS, PCSO and OSSO.

But when I asked for that here, Danielle just said "hey I'll use warm water, let me know if the temperature is good." Wow. Life changed!! The kindness and courtesy is exceptional here. Dr. Bennet said there could be an infection and recommended a series of tests. I trusted that judgment and agreed, which resulted in a thousand+ dollars in exams and X-rays--none of which showed any issues. We ultimately decided on a nightguard. Months later, I returned for a cleaning and explained that while the pain had improved, I still had flare-ups and avoided chewing on that side. I was surprised when I was given the exact same speech about needing extensive testing again for a possible infection--despite having already gone through all of that with no findings. After doing my own research, it's clear my pain is likely from clenching while I sleep. The repeated push for more testing and the implication of an infection felt like a scare tactic. On top of that, I was placed on a periodontal maintenance plan (which is more expensive) with the understanding that I could eventually return to standard cleanings. After a few visits, my hygienist--who has been great--told me I was fine to go back to regular cleanings. However, management overruled that decision. What does management know about my teeth? The experience became overwhelming. I couldn't even finish my cleaning without crying, and I ended up paying and leaving in tears. No one followed up afterward--not a call, text, or email to check in. It's disappointing because my hygienist was wonderful, and honestly the main reason I stayed as long as I did. Unfortunately, the front desk staff is unfriendly, and it's nearly impossible to get an accurate quote from them. Also consumer beware of unethical charging practices that are not disclosed. Forest Park Dental Studio seems more focused on the bottom line than the actual patient. I will not be returning.

Dr. Delplanche and the staff at Raleigh Hills Orthodontics are truly the best you can find!!! From the very first stage of the journey to straight teeth and a perfectly aligned jaw, we knew we were in great hands!!! My son, Cameron, had a very challenging case that was caused by Marfan Syndrome. Cameron had an extremely high-arched upper pallet and a very short lower jaw. It was so advanced that he only had an upper tooth and a lower tooth on the right side that touched, the rest was an open gap. Cameron had to have treatment in order to be able to chew food. Once the insurance was approved (believe it or not, the insurance denied our request for treatment in 2006, stating that as long as he could take in liquid nutrients he didn't need the surgery) - no surgery, no braces, no chewing (eventually). The staff at Raleigh Hills Orthodontics worked with us to provide all the necessary information and the procedures were finally approved we called and had an appointment within days. Dr. Delplanche worked with Dr. Richard Bell at Head and Neck Surgical Associates, the surgeon that would perform Cameron's orthognathic surgery. We got Cameron into braces in October 2013 and surgery was performed on September 3, 2015. They had to split Cameron's upper jaw and correct the high-arch and extend the lower jaw to correct the under bite. Trust me, it was hard to see and assist Cameron through this experience, but let me tell you, Dr. Delplanche and his team were right there beside us every step of the way. Cameron's braces came off October 18, 2016. He is now in retainers. Dr. Delplanche is a true artist, with a gentle, kind soul that strives for perfection!!! His dedication to his craft is evident during the whole process, especially the end result!!! If you have a complicated case or just need to straighten a couple teeth, Dr. Delplanche and his team at Raleigh Hills Orthodontics is the place to go! This is the place to go if for a great smile and invisalign treatment. I wore metal braces 30 years ago and 30 years later my bottom teeth were very crowded and scrunched. (I guess that happens with age... ;) My tops were crowding and I have one particularly stubborn tooth that had rotated quite a bit. The shift in my bite exasperated my TMJ. Basket case, right? My dentist referred me to Dr Delplanche, Raleigh Hills Orthodontics. Dr. Delplanche was very thorough in his assessment and options during my initial consultation. In fact, all through my treatment he was really good at explaining every step and options, pros and cons of options, always asking my preference, feedback and / or concerns. I went with Invisalign this time. All my issues (with my teeth/bite ;) ) have been corrected and I'm loving my straight teeth! EVERYONE at Raleigh Hills Orthodontics is fantastic. Always smiling, friendly and efficient in each of their roles. Dr. D is hilarious as well. Great at cracking jokes when his hand is in your mouth adjusting a button or checking your bite! We began at this clinic in January 2007 when it was owned by Dr. Massar and Dr. Delplanche took over the practice in 2011 when it was then named Raleigh Hills Orthodontics. So, we have been patients for over 10 years! Both my kids had complicated cases and now have gorgeous smiles!! The entire staff is kind, caring and sincere. They are consummate professionals who explain every step of treatment and what could potentially happen along the way. They are great at engaging their patients with contests, games and updates. The incentive program is wonderful and it helps patients stay on track and then get rewarded if they do. Dr. Delplanche is so committed, that he recently met with us at his office well after office hours because we had an "orthodontic emergency"! Both of my kids started treatment with Dr. Delplanche in the summer of 2016. Although my daughter still has a wait for braces, my son started treatment right away and got his braces off this week. Wahoo! I remember when we left our first visit, I was talking to my kids about how nice and friendly everyone in the office was, I might have mentioned how cute Dr. Delplanche is, but my son's first take away was "Dr. Delplanche seems really smart and knows what he's doing." And that is absolutely the truth. I have seen quite a range of kids with orthodontic needs in the office and it is not a one size fits all program. The doctor and staff are very knowledgeable and thoughtfully plan out the best course of treatment for each patient. I am a 62 year old adult who needed braces. Dr. Delplanche recommended Invisaligns for my particular needs. I am almost through (yay!) with the treatment and am very pleased with the results. Through it all, Dr. Delplanche and his staff explained the process thoroughly and answered all the many questions I have had. They are always kind, pleasant and on time! It can feel kind of strange being a senior citizen in an orthodontic practice where most of the patients are children but I was always treated with respect and, best of all (wink) was given the opportunity to collect tokens for my good behavior with my Invisaligns just like the kiddos get. So, in about six more weeks, I can collect a few Starbucks gift cards. Wow! read more

I have been at the Raleigh hills ortho for about three years. Dr. Delplanche and the staff have made it a fun experience to have braces and they've improved my smile and brightened it. I know that sounds crazy but it's true. At first I was worried about getting braces and possibly headgear and I thought my life was at an end. Dr. Delplanche helped me calm down about the idea of braces and made it seem like a wonderful thing (well cause it is lol). I look back and wonder if I decided to not get braces I definitely wouldn't be where I am now . I just completed a 2 1/2 year treatment plan at Raleigh Hills Orthodontics and I always enjoyed the times I was with Dr. Delplanche and his staff. The office is run in a very relaxed and friendly manner while still maintaining a high level of professionalism. I was always impressed to hear Dr. Delplanche teaching his staff as he was working but he was also willing to step back and listen to their input and suggestions. That mutual respect was seen throughout the office and it speaks very highly of the character of the entire staff. As an older adult my treatment was painstakingly slow at times but Dr. Delplanche was very patient and methodical and I could not ask for a better result. read more

I went to see Dr. Delplanche after my daughter had spoken so highly of him. Now I can speak highly of him! He solved my problem of needing an appliance at night to keep my top teeth in alignment while my bottom teeth were held captive by an occlusal guard. I came away with just what I needed, a hawley, after having it carefully checked and modified during several attentive visits. Dr. Delplanche and his staff are warm and welcoming. These guys are fantastic! I have had braces for over 4 years before I moved to Portland. I finished treatment at Raleigh Hills, where I was told I would be getting my braces off in a few months. That was way before my last orthodontist had estimated. I actually got my braces off today, and my teeth look absolutely phenomenal! I'm so glad I found this place. Everyone is so friendly and fun. Even though all that's left to be done is get my retainer, I'll be coming back with my brother and sister when they have appointments just to say hi and thank everyone for doing such a great job :D read more

I had braces for years, whenever I came in and got them tightened they always welcomed me with smiles. When they were tightening my braces, they always kept me in the loop. They always said what they were doing and why they were doing it. This was nice to know so whenever they needed to use a little more pressure than normal, I was prepared for it and not surprised/scared when it happened. My daughter has been seeing Dr. Delplanche for about 2 years now. From your first experience with the front desk you'll feel like a welcomed part of their family. The staff, is pleasant, professional, and communicate very well. The office is always clean and comfortable. I loved my experience with Raleigh Hills Orthodontics. I completed my 18-24 month estimated treatment in 15 months, and ended with a perfect smile! Our oldest son had his braces here with Dr. Delplanche and we had a great experience. Getting ready to start son #2 on his braces as well. Staff is very friendly and clinic is clean and well maintained. Dr. Delplanche always takes time to talk with you and answer your questions.
