I brought my 9 year old into Ensley Orthodontic is August 2024 and I was very impressed. Dr. Ensley and Dr. Sara are both amazing - they really know their stuff and make you feel comfortable from the get-go. Dr. Ensley is very conservative with care, which I really appreciate. He only recommends braces or treatment when it's truly necessary for a patient's growth and development, especially for kids. You can tell he has patients' best interests at heart. The whole team is so friendly and welcoming! They go out of their way to make sure you never leave with any questions, which is super reassuring. They're fantastic with kids and adults with ADD, showing so much patience and understanding to make sure everyone feels relaxed and supported. You can tell they genuinely care about each person, not just as a patient but as a person. AND they will meet you in the clinic after hours if there is any discomfort or pokey wires. A special shoutout to Terrie, who's amazing at working with payment options and helping you find a plan that fits your budget. She makes it so much easier and stress-free! If you're looking for an orthodontist in the Beaverton area, I highly recommend this place! You'll feel like part of their family. Dr. Ensley, Dr. Sara, and the entire staff are awesome! read more

Adult braces here...bummer. Anyway,I am expected to be on time and they never are. Assembly line service. I would have not come here if I understood how this would play out. I'm due my next set of trays and am having to wait over 4 weeks for them for their scheduling issue and the delay in getting the trays. I really dislike the experience and the communication. Front desk staff are nice. A plethora of good customer service on confirmation to continue, distinct lack of service, communication and sense that they have any clue what is going on with you beyond what is front of their face from there. I took my son here YEARS back, which is why I returned, but the experience and care is not at all the same. BIG thumbs down, but now I'm stuck... I'm sure they are definitely making a lot of $ on this set up, but the patient/customer side of it is VERY LACKING. Go somewhere where you have a partner in your care. That place is NOT here. read more

A neighbor asked for our experience here and I thought this might help others too. Pros -Overstaffed. All girls staff with beautiful teeth! You will never lack of someone to speak with. Never been on hold over the phone. You can tell it's great cash flow here. -First visit. Free consultation with lots of pictures and nice package. Treatment coordinator was super sweet however it will be changing hands (many hands) for the following visits. No personal touch so feel free not to remember names here. -Experienced orthodontist. He's not new to the industry. Many general dentist can do easy cases these day by using advanced technology and invisiline. But you will have confidence talking to him if you think you have a special case. His thoughts are valuable for your decision, but read on. -Free custom sport mouth guards! Don't get store bought and use microwave. Go here and they will make one for you. This was how we got hooked to begin with. -Video games. Of course kids will want to go to dental office even earlier. It does help with anxiety and to be on time for appointments. -Telephone booth. Well it looks very special these day. And it actually works! So kids can learn to dial the antique. -Parking. It's Beaverton no where is hard anyways. Cons -Their office hours. They close at 4:00 and do not open on Friday Saturday and Sunday. So hard to be able to get appointment after school. You would be lucky to get 3:45 appointment on the day you want. Sometimes every 3-4 weeks appointment becomes 5-6 weeks apart because there's no openings. Not to mention parents that have to work til 5pm, got to plan your excuses ahead people! -Adjustment nightmare. Since they open only 4 days if you need adjustment after visit you are pretty much screwed. So you know it's orthodontic it could be so painful just because teeth move but sometimes gum hurts, problem with wires, etc. that you often need help. Depends on how you expect it to happen and have faith in painkillers, but for young kids it's not that simple to manage, especially when wires poke soft tissue in the mouth and cause bleeding. It is critical. So let's say, had appointment on Wednesday after school, gone home, feel the pain at night, and called back first thing Thursday morning, and sure they don't have anything available after school. Only way to do is skip work skip school and take mid-day appointment again. Or you wait until Monday or sometimes Tuesday if Monday is full. This situation happened over and over. Joy. -Satisfaction isn't guaranteed. You can't really get want you want. It's more like what doctor wants for you. At the far end it's possible that you are not 100% satisfied. Just like other reviews. The outcome you see in the mirror and the ortho theory that doctor provides might not agreed. He's the solo orthodontist, owner of the business, and Charlie (angels)! Look at the team photo and those pretty ladies in his life. No one will against what he thinks and says. You can try to talk contract you have before you started but it will only upset him. He's very experienced ortho but just asked around you will find out he can't take complaints! -Expensively known. You know what you are getting into. Upgrade your dental insurance before you go will definitely help. Not sure how is it now but recently it's about 7K. *Make sure your insurance stay exact the same (company and plan) for at least 24 months period. Confirm with your HR (no way you know what would happen the next year tho), don't change job or get fired! Otherwise you will pay all the insurance portions out of your pocket. Understand that it is not about when you "start" it's when you end. Insurance will not pay their parts when you pay and no one will tell you there. They will chip in a tiny bit every few months. So it will be a lot left for you to cover if anything changes. Anyways! All the pain (and money) might payoff in a long run. My recommendation is to get a 2nd opinion to make sure you clinically needed it. Unless you have money and a lot of time left and beauty is on top priority in your life. America is so obsessed with aligned teeth. Another thing Europeans love to make joke about. Orthodontists make your beauty smile. Businesses will do well with or without reviews. Happy goes around. read more

I went to Ensley's in 2012 and was told I needed braces. They told me I'd have them for 1.5-2 years. However, that turned into 3.5 years. The reason? They realized after TWO YEARS that I had a baby tooth left that hadn't fallen out yet. So I had to have it pulled, then wait for the adult tooth to grow back and have a brace put on it. I got my braces off in 2014, but am leaving a review now after I had a dentist tell me recently that I now have a receding gum line (which only shows up in people much older than myself), due to braces. They even said that if it gets worse, I'd need surgery. If you're going to go to Ensley's, know that they will likely recommend braces, and oftentimes for people too young. read more

Updates and communication so unreliable. Got moved here after magic smiles got bought from them. And have had the worst customer service like they don't care about their new clients read more

I saw Dr Ensley for a dental extrusion in an attempt to save a broken tooth. (Essentially using orthodontics to pull down some of the root structure of the tooth to provide a bigger base for a crown.) Dr Ensley and his staff are extremely experienced, kind and his office is run very efficiently. He saved me from needing an implant and I am extremely grateful. Both of our children will be getting their braces there; without question. read more

My niece messaged me that she had an orthodontic emergency while she was on a business trip in Oregon, I looked up the style of orthodontic appliance (Carriere) and matched it to orthodontists in the area; this office had great reviews online. I am so thankful for this wonderful office. I called and explained what had broken in her mouth and they worked her in and gave her excellent care. As her treating dentist and aunt, I am so grateful to have come across such an outstanding team. The office ladies were extremely helpful arranging an emergency appointment, she was treated with kindness by the dental assistants "the ladies there were super sweet and did not make me feel like an inconvenience", and she said the doctors were super nice. Absolutely five star service from Jareen, Ally, Brittany, and Dr. Ensley & Dr. Edmondson. My heartfelt thanks! Dr. Twana Duncan, DDS Antlers, Oklahoma read more

Two of my children received treatment at Ensley Orthodontics. My partner was the one who attended the consultations, appointments, and who interacted with the office. I have no complaints about the first, older child's experience. The full treatment for them cost $6,585 in 2015. The second child was too young for the full treatment so my partner was offered to optionally do the treatment in two phases, part now and part later. The way it was phrased to them made it seem like the cost would also be split between the two with some additional overhead. Phase 1 cost $3,750. Imagine my surprise when, years later, I got an estimate for phase 2 at $6,310 minus a $700 "discount" for completing phase 1. The upselling of the optional phases was made to my partner in full knowledge that they didn't have insurance coverage, and they were not told (neither in person nor in writing) that it would cost significantly more ($2,775 in this case). I have decided to find a different orthodontist to complete their treatment. read more

Thank you Ensley!!!! You guys are a team filled with hard workers and talent! Thank you for giving me the smile of my dreams. I'm only 9 months in but, extremely satisfied already. I wish I had my before pictures but I'll wait till it's all finished to show those. Crazy transformation!! read more

Ensley Orthodontics - Amazing!!! I love my new smile! - Orthodontists Near Me - Beaverton, Oregon

We were all set to start treatment here , but then we found out that the schedule is set up to accommodate the staff not the patients. Even though 95% of their patients are school children, the clinic closes at 4:00. A mom in the waiting room told me that she has never gotten an afterschool appointment for her daughter--for our boys to go here they would have to miss school for every appointment. read more

We went to Dr. Ensley after having a terrible experience with a previous orthodontist. My daughter's teeth were completely slanted sideways, and her midline was off by quite a bit. I wasn't sure how he could fix it, but he did! So grateful we found him! read more

I would absolutely reccommend Ensley Orthodontics to anyone looking for orthodontic work. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place. Every single staff member from the receptionists, the treatment planner, the technicians, to Dr. Ensley himself have been wonderful from start to finish. Dr. Ensley reccommended a treatment plan for me that was much faster and cheaper than I ever expected and I am thrilled with the results. This was probably the best experience I've ever had with any doctor or dentist ever. read more

Great practice with awesome staff! My child's mouth was (and still is) a work in progress and I appreciate the guidance and professionalism that this particular practice has offered. We even had "after hours" issues with broken bands and poking wires while my child had braces and the staff was readily available when needed. I believe that they go above and beyond. One thing in particular that stands out - they discuss all financial matters in a private office - something that not every office does. I have received various consultations at other dental practices where you financial business is discussed out in the open (especially in front of other staff members or patients). Not Ensley Orthodontics. They respect every patient's needs and issues and act accordingly and will work with you to determine the best course of action for you or your family member. In regards to the person who gave this practice "one star." I don't know you, but after looking at the other reviews you have written on Yelp and determining that they are all negative, maybe one should consider the source.... enough said. read more

I am 1 year into treatment and already super happy with the results that are not even done yet! I feel like most of the staff is awesome, friendly and professional. (there is one assistant that is pretty rough while changing your wires and makes my teeth sore for a week after). Before Dr. Ensley I had 2 different orthodontists and 3 dentists tell me I would need jaw surgery to fix my bite. Dr. Ensley is correcting it without surgery and he is always upfront about time line and such. I also usually have to bring my 3 kids (all under 5) with me to my appointments and the staff has always been welcoming of them and engaged them. I really appreciate that as a mom because sometimes it's stressful to have to bring them to appointments! highly recommend this orthodontist! read more

When it was time to find an orthodontist we asked our Dentist for a referral. Ensley was at the top of the list. We still interviewed two others to compare price and services, but Ensley stood out! We love the staff--they treat us like family. The office is a joy to visit with lots of perks to keep the kids enthusiastic about keeping up their braces. One beautiful smile down and two more in the process--so far the outcomes have been perfect! read more

After just having our first consultation for our 9 year old son, we are walking away confident, calm, and hopeful about his treatment plan for several dental issues. This entire office space and the staff is warm, friendly, personal, respectful, and professional. Definitely child friendly (the waiting areas as well as the staff interactions). They were very informative and clear about what our son needed. I never felt a hard pressure sale for their services and although is it an option to wait on treatment, that is not what we want. My son walked out saying, "I'm looking forward to braces." read more

Great experience. Wonderful and friendly staff, easy to work with and my daughters love coming to their appointments.

I have nothing bad to say about the Ensley group; they were professional, friendly, on time, and very knowledgeable (the manager, receptionists, and clinicians). From beginning to end of my invisalign treatment everything went as expected. I was hesitant at the beginning but am so happy I did it (I am 68). Not only do I like the way my teeth appear now but eating a sandwich is much easier since my teeth are much better aligned. I am grateful for everything they did for my teeth. I would recommend them without hesitation. Thanks Ensley Group!! read more

I just moved here from Hawaii and needed to continue orthodontic treatment. All I can say is I definitely chose the right office! Staff was amazing and Dr. Ensley is personable and has obvious expertise. He was genuinely interested in helping go with the least expensive option for me which I really appreciated after a big move. The office is amazing and beautiful with lots of different things to do while you wait (which wasn't long at all). I'm looking forward to my next visit read more

This ortho charges a $250 consultation fee for an initial consult if you're coming from another ortho - out of line with the rest of the market. I have nothing bad to see! The staff is absolutely amazing. They are quick to get you in, super friendly, and they walk you through everything they do. Over the past fourteen years, we have stayed with Dr. Ensley for all the orthodontic treatment needed in our family, including myself (getting braces a second time as an adult) and all three of our kids. We recommend him highly to anyone seeking orthodontic treatment at any age. Our youngest child had a very complicated and lengthy treatment plan, with tooth extractions and special appliances needed. Ensley was thorough and communicative every step of the way, and he provided lots of incentives for all our kids to stick with their treatment plans. We are delighted with the results. Ensley and his office staff are very professional, honest, friendly, and encouraging. They went out of their way to make the whole experience as convenient and pleasant as possible for all of us. read more

Dr Ensley and staff really make it a great experience to get braces! They are always positive, willing to go the extra mile and work with their clients to ensure everyone is happy. I had my braces taken off before eighteen months. My teeth were close to straight, but some teeth were still inverted. I had gaps in my bottom teeth and when I voiced my concerns to Dr. Ensley his response was "Well, no one can see the bottom teeth." True but there are still gaps. My top teeth were very crooked which prompted me to get treatment. One tooth is still over lapping because he pretty much did not see a problem. I pointed these things out before my braces were off. He was not happy I said anything. He walked away and said to an assistant "Wow! That's my first complaint!" A father there with his daughter looked shocked and looked at me in awe. Just the tone in his voice was so rude. I'm paying you to straighten my teeth and your mad because I let you know there are still issues the needed to be addressed. I had an assistant literally chip my tooth, when I called back they tried to play it off as excess glue that had chipped. No, it was and still is chipped. Now, when I first decided to go here, I read a bad review and thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Big mistake!! They don't honor what is in your contract. Such as with your retainers and retention. Most assistants are kind. I only came across one assistant who was a complete bitch. She cut my gum while removing my braces, obviously I voiced my discomfort. After silence she said to another assistant "I'm such a bad assistant." Just unbelievable service at times. I was treated very coldly towards the end of my treatment. Once your braces are off they treat you like shit, because you are no longer of any value to them. I never got my molds either the need to keep, them a "little longer" probably because the molds showed that my teeth were not straight. Just thousands of dollars down the drain!!! It breaks my heart to know they treated me with such blunt disrespect because I was so young at the time. Do your research and make an informed decision! If you think they are nice wait until your treatment is done, you'll see their true colors. I hope this review will help even just one person, I know it's long but it true. read more
